X is more of a close combat type, but engaging wise and safe spam range, i would prefer Y over X at any day.

You dont need to do anything, thats the passive skill it automatically evolves into mege X once its filled its energy unlike in anime mewtwo x and y are separate pokemons in this game

its 2 unite licenses, mewtwo X being an all rounder, and mewtwo Y being an attacker

Some pokemon don't need as much exp to level up. Leafeon, for example, only needs the first three to evolve. That leaves two to "leech" from the jungle, and if you noticed, it got mewtwo his second move early. Can be worth it in a good team
