    So to clarify something, that one monkey pokemon is oranguru, according to the pokedex he's one of the few pokemon that are capable of understanding how pokeballs work and can use them for pokemon battles. And magcargo, the snail from the ball is apparently as hot as the surface of the sun according to one of the pokedex. Hence the huge explosion when it was sent out

    The Magcargo (evolution of Slugma) joke was taken from one of it's pokedex entries that states it's body tempature is around 18,000F, which is almost double how hot the surface of our sun is, which is why the second it came out of it's pokeball, it just caused a blue, nuke-like explosion. lol Lockstin breaks down every encounter in these videos, linked at the end and in the description. It's some fascinating shit tbh lol.

    Lockstein and Gnoggin are really good PokeTubers (KZreadrs that cover Pokemon stuff), mostly doing lore videos, though occasionally they'll come up with new Fakemons and Regions for said Fakemons (a Fakemon is basically a Pokemon not officially made by GameFreak, the company that develops the Pokemon videogames; in other words, they're concepts made by people who love the Pokemon franchise enough to want to create their own Pokemon, perhaps combining different typings not seen in the series proper or just because they think that it would be a fun thing to do), and, as you've witnessed now, team up with TerminalMontage, a talented KZread animator who does not _only_ Pokemon stuff, but ANY and ALL classic videogame franchise (I'm talking Castlevania, Super Metroid, Sonic the Hedgehog, Legend of Zelda, and so on) in their own gloriously-awesome, reference-packed, hyper-chaotic, ADHD- _and_ -OCD-approved shorts! 🥳🤓🥳😁 These TerminalMontage vids also usually have a lore and statistics based "Explanation" video afterwards; this being like Rooster Teeth's _Death Battle_ , but with Pokemon.

  • @donuts7607

    One of the reasons why the video was so absurd was because the authors decided to accept all Pokédex entries as literal. So, if a game says that Tyranitar (the green lizard that got punched beyond the horizon) is impervious to all attacks, the author decided that Tyranitar _literally_ cannot be damaged by any attack.

    If you dont know, from Lockstin’s information, the animation pulls its logic from the game’s pokedex entries, thier competitive history, as well as with a hint of scientific/mathmatical speculation, things like how igglytuff can basically bounce forever, or how Magikarp can (theoretically) jump as high as seen in the video.

  • @AlexThat200
    @AlexThat20011 ай бұрын

    To give more context to the guy who said to click on his video at the end. He is a Pokétuber named "Lockstin and Gnoggin" that gives out very good information about anything Pokémon. Whether it be game facts, theories, and even background information as to why a Pokémon exists and looks the way it does. And the way he presents his information with his skits and editing, just makes it very fun to watch. Really do recommend you watch his explained videos about why certain fights end the way they do. I also recommend his videos about Pokémon types explained. Though they are a little outdated since they only cover Generations 1-7, but still good videos to watch. Actually, I think another good video for you to watch that's not part of Lockstin's list is actually one the Pokémon Company created themselves called "One Thousand Pokémon!" It showcases every single Pokémon from their original games. So you see not just the evolution of Pokemon designs, but the evolution of the handheld platforms they debuted on.

    12:47: yep; Macargo (whose name is a pun on _escargot_ the French word for "Snail" and magma, the hot molten soil that's beneath the Earth's crust, close to the core, but occasionally spurts out of volcanos when tectonic plates shift or there's a large enough seismic disturbance). A running joke in the Pokemon community is that, since it's pokedex entry states that it is about as hot or _hotter_ than the surface of the sun, that letting it out of it's pokeball would be equivalent to launching a nuke: the intense heat from just being around it would be hot enough to melt people alive from the sheer intensity of it, trees would spontaneously combust and burn out of control until they were reduced to charcoal and ash, deserts would become seas of glass, and the whole region that they were let loose in would be on fire...forever. Or maybe just a few millennia... 😅

  • @Kamenari37
    @Kamenari3711 ай бұрын

    Kadabra and Alakazam both hold spoons as a reference to the once famed psychic Uri Geller, who made a name for himself pretending to melt and bend spoons with mental powers rather than physical force. He was inevitably exposed as a fraud by the magician James Randi with help from Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show where Uri was featured as a guest. Johnny called Randi asking for any tips on how to treat the upcomming guest knowing of bad blood wherein Randi told the Tonight Show staff to not let Uri or his people handle any of the props provided for the trick, and to not inform Uri what would be brought for him to demonstrate on. Suffice it to say, Uri choked on live television and his career imploded soon after. Unfortunately, he would have a mild resurgence, still doing his charade to this day, though the pieces have changed a bit. When he found out his likeness had been channeled as inspiration for the psychic Pokemon he sued Nintendo citing infringement of his image and trademark. He lost.

    5:28 Yeah these videos take into in-game stats, dex entries, and what other media there is for Pokémon, and yes do react to the explained videos as Lockstin does point out why each result came out as they did, and some background details that were missed because of how much stimulation there is. 14:43 And yes, these are their respective VAs here 15:41 So yeah, I think it would be spectacular for a double react with your fiancé on the royals and their respective explanations, since he may know names, but maybe not the lore the games and anime give them.

    The beutyfull thing is that this was made in colab with Lockstin adn EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS IS LORE ACURATE Like, the pokedex sometimes just doesn't care about being acurate so but they took it literally to make this. For example Wailord has it's weight wrong, is way to little fot it's size so in theory it should float for beig to light, so they made it happen here. or my favourite, Absol made a scared face at the begining (Before Machamp punched it) because it can sence danger like predictions and stuff

    13:20: in Alakazam's case, it's IQ (which in the _real_ world would be scientifically impossible, as IQ charts typically peak at the 140-145 IQ range, which already constitutes the less than 1% of Earth's entire 4.2 billion population; anything higher than *that* wouldn't be human, but some kind of physical, omniscient god) is a result of its infinitely expanding brain which, if one takes it to its morbidly logical conclusion, could mean that its head will at some future point 'pop' like an overripe gourd once the brain growth exceeds what its skull can possibly handle. The curse of intelligence is a burden... EDIT: Also, the spoons are a reference to a common 'trick' used by psychics (both legitimate and fraudulent) to demonstrate their psychic prowess. They do this by being able to bend a metal spoon using minimal force... or without even touching the spoon, an example of psychokinesis or psychic telekinesis. The explanation behind the distinction is... kinda boring and long-winded, but short version is, there's telekinesis using purely your mind, or telekinesis as replicated by technology, using the laws of physics to do the seemingly impossible.

    Don’t worry Alicia, there’s too many damn Pokemans. I knew exactly what You were thinking for almost all Your guesses. Like others have said, I’d recommend Y’all watch the explanation video for these fights. It makes more sense that way especially for people less familiar with the Pokédex Lore.
