Here's some notes on the casting choices for this video! Carmine: She was a tough one to cast until I remembered Anne Yatco in Jujutsu Kaisen (which I've only watched like 12 episodes of, oops) and thought that energy was perfect for Carmine. I used her for a villager in Arceus! Kieran: There were a few options I had in mind for him, including Ciaran Strange and Justin Briner, but Casey has perfect delivery for both the cowardly Kieran of Teal Mask and the aggressive one of Indigo Disk. A fairly easy choice all things considered, though a lot of great picks were available. Briar: Probably the hardest casting choice in this entire video because she has a lot of voices that could work for her but most of the ones I could think of were already used by me or PokeMas. I ended up going with Mallorie Rodak, who recently has had a lot of notoriety voicing a mentor figure in Frieren - I'd imagine a bit more emotion than this performance but I really like the idea of Rodak's softer low voice for Briar. Perrin: The other hardest casting, because my first picks were all already ones I used, including Trina Nishimura and Katelynn Barr. But after trying a bunch out I realized, Anairis Quinones was not in PokeMas or my videos, despite her being in like every other Pokemon media (Nessa in Twilight Wings, Iris in the recent anime, the assist in New Snap...). She has a very cool voice in some roles so it was easy from there. Billy and O'Nare: Threw them in mostly for fun and went more cartoonish on their voices. I've used that specific Jamie Marchi clip like three times and it's still evergreen for the pompous rich types, and I ended up at Grant George for a comedically oafish husband. I think they're funny. Cyrano: Bill Butts in Horimiya has such a memorably lackadaisical dad performance that it has always stuck with me, and was the first thing I thought of when I saw Cyrano. It works well for him, imo. Crispin: One of the harder ones, since I wanted that burning energy he displays as a fire expert but wanted to reflect he was also kind of cute and a little pathetic. Dallas Reid was who I landed on, capable of soft and youthful performances while also known for their LOUD PASSIONATE SHOUTING as Asta in Black Clover. I thought Asta was a bit much for Crispin's example, so landed on the more mellow clip from Hyouka. Amarys: Again, I used Cassie Ewulu for a minor villager in Arceus, but figured it wasn't prominent enough to override how perfect she was for Amarys. The fact she just recently got a character with a perfect exemplary tone and performance in 100 GFs sold the deal on that choice - I didn't even really plan it that way or watch the show, I just got very lucky here. Lacey: I had the most valid options for Lacey, as she's a fairly simple cute anime girl with some sass and that's pretty common in dubbing. I ended up with Jill Harris who I thought could pull off her down to earth homely vibes well. I would not object to her having a southern accent of some kind to reflect being Clay's daughter, but did not take it into account for the voice clip for convenience. Fun fact, Jill is married to my pick for Crispin's actor. Drayton: I debated using Zeno Robinson because he voices so prominent a character in the anime, Goh, that it'd feel weird casting him again. But Zeno was SO PERFECT for the role I just had to use him anyway. I didn't even grab that Hawks clip for this video, I just had it on hand already, and even the context is perfect for him - it's freaky, really, but me being lazy but effective in this casting fits Drayton well. Snacksworth: Mike Pollock is a very respected actor thanks largely to his role as Eggman in the Sonic franchise, and I wanted someone with some oomph to them for Snacksworth, the weird old man that seemingly knows every Legendary ever. It was a happy coincidence that not only did he have a history with the Pokemon series spanning all the way back to the original show, but he played a character in a recent movie who specifically was seeking out a legendary. Probably the only time I'll use a clip from a franchise for a casting video in that franchise, ha ha.

As a teacher, Mister Snackworth is my worst nightmare taking form in a pokemon game. An old man in front on the school giving away free candy to children saying "eat this and you'll see a dragon". But his voice here is exactly how I think he wound sound like.

Okay, Drayton being played by Hawks VA is perfect. Both have such laid back yet kinda scheming personalities. And their freedom loving attitude especially. Lacey and Kirean's are perfect as well even if I never saw them in much although Lacey's was also in MHA.

Anne Yatco sounds absolutely perfect for Carmine, I love it. Same thing with Briar, Crispin, and Lacey. Amarys is also very fitting. And something about Zeno Robinson as Drayton just feels right, like that's exactly how I imagined his voice would be like

All these voices fit so perfectly, that is exactly how i imagined Kieran would sound, and Zeno Robinson is perfect for Drayton

I head cannon a Japanese accent for Kieran (and I guess Carmine by default too) but the tone/pitch seems like it would be pretty accurate, maybe a little deeper but not much. I just pray they dont give him a super high pitched voice like poor Sophicles lol

Can't say I blame you. Mike Pollock has done a lot of voice works, but his role as Dr. Eggman is his Magnum Opus.

I had a very similar voice in mind for Kieran. I had settled on Justine Lee with their work as Ken Amada in Persona 3 Reload as the reference role, but since the only material that’s available for another month is all pre-release stuff from trailers, I couldn’t quite get a full gauge on how they’d do as Kieran. I think Casey Mongillo is just as good of an option and you even found the perfect voice lines to pair with Kieran!

I pictured Crispin voiced by Todd Habbercorn. The red hair, and element of fire. Just too fitting

Drayton became my favorite character in the dlc after like 5 minutes of imagining all of his lines in the voice of Scout TF2

All of your VA choices match the characters perfectly. Casey & Zeno are especially spot on picks for Kieran & Drayton. If anything, I think Michelle Rojas could be another option for Briar. Their performance in Visions of Escaflowne kind of has mature yet slightly arrogant tone I imagined Briar having. I also feel like Amanda C. Miller (Boruto's VA) could be another option for Crispin if you want to give him a younger voice.

Both very fitting! Per my own rules I didn't use them in this video because I used them in the main video - Rojas as Dendra and Miller as Eri - but it's fun how many viable options there are.

Kieran having the same VA as Shinji is honestly pretty perfect. Using Jamie as the voice of a stuck up woman who needs to be humbled is also fucking HILARIOUS and perfect considering the recent circumstances.

Casey as Kieran would be awesome 🙂. Thier voice range is amazing my favorite characters they play as cinderace, Allister ( twilight Wings), Shinji, and Emporio. Honorable mention Micah in Rune factory 3 special.

I only passively watch the series via my older sister, admittedly - I actually chose Grant George because of the pompous rich boy Iok Kujan from his role in Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, but that show's a bit too serious for a goofy character like Billy, so I went for the best I could with more light-hearted audio. You work with what you get on these things, lol.

I honestly was thinking Bryce Papenbrook as Kieran, but Casey is also a great choice!

I had that voice line on hand from an older video, I think an Ace Attorney one? It worked so well for Drayton that I just, did not need to do any more searching for his clip, it even worked better in context here than it did in the video I got it for.

Fun fact, I actually imagined Casey as Kieran before this video even existed! (Need to get the DLC so bad... I've just been a passive observer so far because every time I've had enough money to buy it something else has cropped up 😅)

This is fun! I don't know any of these actors though. (I recognized the Miraculous Ladybug voice but not who they played). The O'Nare voice sounds pretty accurate, Cyrano too. I usually just imagine my own voices for different characters I guess.

You pick such good vocal lines too thematically. Kieran’s lines are so fitting for his character. Some of that VA’s work in Netflix’s Eva dub reenforce your point too

I absolutely want to cover manga and anime at some point - Pandora Hearts, Shugo Chara, UtaPri, and HypMic are some I'd like to tackle off the top of my head - though 100 Girlfriends has an official dub so I don't think I'm needed for that one, ha ha. I used a clip in this video from it, though I've not read/seen it myself beyond that yet.

Hopefully, the next game will have voice acting, it would improve the game so much.

I always imagined Kieran would not be too far off from this, I think it’s likely he’d be quiet and soft spoken, almost to the point we’d constantly be asking him to speak a tiny bit louder, and that’s down to the initial image we have of him being so shy and timid. However his tone I think might be a touch lower, as he’s 14, and likely his voice may have broken (or currently breaking).

zeno fits drayton so well... no wonder why drayon is one of my favorite dlc characters 😭

I had a list back when it was new but most SWSH characters have multiple official actors now so I might just make a text post with my list instead of making a full video.

Zeno Robinson voices Goh in Pokémon Journeys, it would be really funny having him also voice Drayton who's basically Goh's polar opposite lol
