Wow, that was fast... the all "dexit" thing is still something that bothers me, but at least my little Typhlosion will be back with Pokémon Home (it's been confirmed in the game files), it's great to see that the Kanto starters weren't the only ones who returned this time around. The "Robotic Pokémon of the future" remind me a lot of the digital type Temtem, am I freaking out too much to think it's an inspiration?

I love how there are better distinctions between regular and battle idle animations, like how birds stand on the ground when outside of battle but fly during one (instead of some birds always on the ground while other always flying from the previous games).

It has a broken ability too. Its ability turns it into a superhero with a 160 attack stat and 100 speed stat. Yah it's stupidly broken.

I love how in this gen, the skins of the Pokemon have detailed fur, metal, or flesh textures.

Pokemondb has a page for unused type combinations y'all, just check it out, it's not updated for S/V yet. Iron Valiant is the new unique previously unused Fairy/Fighting. Gardevoir is Fairy/Psychic and Gallade is Fighting/Psychic, not Fairy/Fighting.

Here's my plans for my Violet Team!: - Quaquaval (Water/Fighting) - Kilowattrel (Electric/Flying) - Garganacal (Rock) - Celuledge (Fire/Ghost) - Tinkaton (Fairy/Steel) - Scovillian (Fire/Grass) Pretty dissipointed that there's no new Three-Stage Bird Pokemon for this gen since I always make sure to have one of my team. Hopefully Wattrel is avaliable early on, but if not I'll just go with another bird Pokemon instead. Or I might get an Alteria idk

Just to say, I started with Fuecoco and have it the best nickname one of its own could have gotten - Skeletorch. It just has so much in its name!

The Eelektross line is in the game, which I consider the hardest pokemon to fight against because it's ability levitate makes it have no weaknesses. I am definitely choosing the fire type starter as while the grass type starter would be what I would choose based off appearance, the dark typing on the final evolution gives it far more weaknesses and a 4 times weakness to bugs. I am okay with dealing with a 4 times weakness if it means more resistance to other types for example the grass ground starter in gen 4 as the ground typing gave it a way to fight against fire, poison, and steel types. However the grass dark typing doesn't give resistance but actually adds weaknesses as it is still weak against fire, flying, bug, poison, and ice, but is now also weak against fighting and fairy. Grass dark is tied with grass psychic, and grass ice with the most weaknesses for a grass type, also grass bug with one less type weakness but 2 4 times weaknesses.

The fire ghost typing gives 2 weaknesses but also gives 2 immunities and 1 normal resistance and 1 super resistance which feels like it gives more positives then negatives. The water fighting gives 3 weakness and 3 extra resistances which balances out. The grass dark also would balance out because it gives an immunity to counter the 4 times weakness to bug as well as 2 weaknesses and 2 resistance. Considering how many powerful fighting, bug, flying, fairy, ice, fire, and poison type pokemon are in the pokedex I am definitely choosing the fire type starter.

Hot take on my part: I feel that they got so much ideas in quantity, but not as well in quality. Why only Wooper and Tauros as Paldean forms? Why only Wugtrio and the Tentacruel-like as convergent species? And why so many Paradox Forms where some are not needed (like I get it for some like Iron Valiant and Roaring Moon), but why Jigglytuff or Magneton specifically? Why Donphan and Volcarona got two of them? To me they had so much ideas but got too scattered on each one that some got relegated to just a few occurences.

Holy cow bisharps evolution is SO COOL

I found many of their posture animations to be odd, then I realized those were their idle animations, not their combat pose animations.
