    Technically the first version is originally from Pokemon Platinum, they copy and pasted the song and put it in OR/AS unedited lol. Yes it's Giratina the Pokemon's theme. I don't exactly know why Giratina is in ORAS but they do like to make some older legendaries available in newer games, just so it's not a nightmare for people to catch em all. Also it sounds so chaotic and distorted because in lore, he was sealed in an alternate dimension called the Distortion World. You go there in Platinum briefly to fight him and the gravity is all over the place, waterfalls going upwards, etc. Fits him VERY much.

    Giratina and also every other main Legendary is in ORAS because they just revealed Hoopa if you remember and Hoopa's rings are scattered throughout the game so basically they're this game's excuse to have all the Legends available

    They're in ORAS because of Hoopa's shenanigans (it pulling legendaries from alternate timelines & dimensions through its wormhole style rings). Same goes for every other legendary besides the kalos and kanto legendaries that were present in XY through non-Hoopa means.

    The best way I could describe Giratina (the caterpillar-esque Pokemon)’s theme is that it’s just pure chaos in musical form. Which is perfect considering Giratina lives in a crazy alternate dimension called The Distortion World, where the laws of physics don’t apply. It’s often likened to being the Satan of Pokemon, as it was banished to The Distortion World by Arceus, the creator God of Pokemon (although it actually helps stop the main villain of Platinum from destroying the universe).

    Giratina is a Ghost and Dragon Type Pokémon, and it is what we call a legendary Pokémon (like Mewtwo) only Legendary Pokémon nowadays are usually now associated with Pokémon so powerful they are godlike beings, Giratina being one of the strongest among even them in the Pokémon lore. The music is so chaotic to depict the story of how it was banished to a world on the reverse side of ours called the distortion world for it’s extremely violent nature. It is one of the most famously popular legendary Pokémon, and just Pokémon in general

    Girantina is one of a Legendary Trio, that governs over Anti matter & Gravity. The other two, Dialga & Palika goven over Time & Space respectively. It was banished long ago for it apparent violence into another parallel dimension called the Distortion World. Where natural physics don't apply and is tied to the natural Pokemon World. Several times it sought escape to seek revenge for its imprisonment, but later on chose to punish those that disrupt the natural order like in Platinum, as penance. It has two forms one with Six legs on the ground called its Altered Forme, and the other flying/floating called its Origin Forme. Fun Fact: some of Girantina's Battle Theme music is sampled in parts of Volo's Encounter & Battle Themes just a few notes, but it is there. It acts as nice foreshadowing and role in that story. Lastly its a Ghost/Dragon Type Pokemon.

    I'm not exactly the "lorekeeper" for the Pokémon lore 😂 but I believe the lore for this one boils down to Giratina being Pokémon satan and being banished to "The Distortion World" (hell) where everything's upside down because it rebeled against god (who's another Pokémon you might recognise the name of: Arceus)

    Oh and as for the blue and white, legends Arceus is strange because it is both canon to the mainline games, as it takes place in the past, but in terms of gameplay is a spinoff as it is functionally very different. Game freak was experimenting and to make it clear, as well as to fit the theming of the game, they changed the logo a bit.

    Go Ichinose composed/arranged the Cynthia encounter theme and the original Giratina battle theme from Platinum here. As you can probably guess, his main hallmark is the insane overlapping melodies and crazy tempos/rhythms as seen in other tracks like the FRLG champion battle, Hoenn Fontier Brain, Ho-oh/Lugia Battles, PWT Final Round, etc. Hes not a one-trick pony though, he can also go hard in the beautiful and serene direction as shown in tracks like National Park, Eterna City, and Marine Tube. Pokemon truly has an insane backlog of prime OST and Ichinose is a big reason why

    What aids further to the overall thematic elements of this theme is that Giratina represents antimatter as its counterparts represent time/space. Not to give a physics lesson but antimatter is a volatile and one particle touching matter has enough energy equivalent to a nuclear bomb. And its Pokédex species name is the “Renegade Pokémon”. “It was banished for its violence”. Sound familiar? The other comments have already told which “angel” it references.

  • @franciscojaviermendezrinco1902
    @franciscojaviermendezrinco1902Ай бұрын

    Giratina's theme sounds so chaotic and over the place because Giratina is the ruler and only pokémon in a dimension named the distorsion world. A place where time doesn't flow, space is irregular, literally the opposite of how the laws of physics work in our world. Giratina is the enbodiment of chaos and the theme song shows that perfectly. The first version of the theme is from Pokémon Platinum, there you face Giratina in its own home and in its most powerful form. In Leyends Arceus Giratina has two phases, one is when Volo summons Giratina to fight and is the calm part, you beat Giratina, but Giratina refuses to lose against a simple human so Giratina transforms into the form that looks like a snake, which is its real form, while the guitar solo and that chaotic notes play, unleashing its full power and if is effective starts the fight with Shadow Force, its strongest attack.

    Giratina is often referred as "The Satan of Pokemon" or something similar to that. You could see it or not since in the lore Giratina was vanished from the normal world by Arceus. (or God, its the same.) It is told that it was due to Giratina's aggresive nature and destruction. It lives and rules now the Distortion World.

  • @bru4773

    The first song is taken from the OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire sound track, but its basically the original song from Platinum, they didnt really change it all. Maybe some clean-up? I dunno. Platinum was on the DS still, OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire was on the 3DS. Like a lot the newer Pokemon games, OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire lets you fight and catch a bunch of legendary Pokemon from all sorts of games, and Giratina is one of the ones to reappear for you to fight in that game. As for the games being their own separate stories, that depends on how you look at it. Gen 2 (Gold, Silver, Crystal) are actually direct sequels to Gen 1 that takes place 2 years after that game. The superboss of Gen 2, Red, is the protag from Gen 1, which is cool. But all the games are said to take place in the same world, and you can meet characters from different games over the course of your journey. Notably, Cynthia, the champion whose theme you just reacted to in the previous game, hangs out in a random house in the Gen 5 games (Black/White) and will fight you if you walk in, re-traumatizing all the players who fought her as Champion in the previous games, lol. Pokemon Legends: Arceus takes place a long, long time ago in the past, but takes place in the same physical location as Diamond and Pearl, so the legendary Pokemon, especially Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus, Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit, are all still there too, since theyre all part of the creation mythos of Pokemon's world and are quasi-gods of a sort. Giratina, the Antimatter Pokemon, is called upon by Volo, Cynthia's ancestor, in an attempt to dethrone Arceus, god of creation, so have to stop him, and kind of make friends with Giratina in the process. Some thousands of years later, in Pokemon Platinum, when Cyrus, the leader of the villainous Team Galactic, calls on Dialga and Palkia, the pokemon of Time and Space respectively, to destroy and remake the universe, Giratina appears and drags Cryus into its dimension to stop him. Sort of like a thousands-of-years-long redemption arc!

    I picked it because Pokeli is the main person who uploads pokemon music to youtube and has really good quality. For some reason they just happened to upload the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire version, which does not really matter besides causing a bit of confusion because as you said, they are essentially the same. Unless you are pulling from the diamond and pearl creative commons music site, a lot of songs that have been uploaded from diamond, pearl or platinum tend to be a bit crusty. At least they were when I submitted this, which was before the remake was released and the website created.

    One of the multiple videos you've put out recently has probably had multiple comments explaining this, but! Explaining the names of Pokémon games. Pokémon games can basically be categorized into 3/4 categories. -Base Game -Third Version -Remake -Legends (which i will explain later) Base games are your red/blue, gold/silver Third versions are the "enhanced version" if the devs had one more year of dev time to add new features. They're basically the same as the furst versions but better in almost every way. (This method has gone away in recent years) (Yellow to Red/Blue, Crystal to Gold/Silver) Remakes are obvious. (Firered/Leafgreen and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, Heartgold/Soulsilver) And Legends Is its own thing. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum take place in the Sinnoh region, but 15~ish years later Pokémon released a new original game with a new story and new characters set in an ancient Sinnoh: Pokémon Legends Arceus. This is why these games share so many melodies with each other. Now I shall go generation by generation and list them! Even if you dont care because someone's already said this before Generation 1, Kanto: -Base: Red and Green(JP)/Blue(NA) -Third Version: Yellow -Remakes: None this generation -Notes: you could connect your Red, Blue/Green, or Yellow cartridge to Pokémon Stadium 1 (or the japan exclusive actual pokémon stadium 1) but these are basically just "do pokémon battles with your own Pokémon in 3D". They're games, but they're not really "games" in the mainline franchise. Generation 2 Johto (and Kanto): -Base: Gold and Silver -Third Version: Crystal -Remake: None this generation* -Note: The entirety of the Kanto region is located within every Johto game, as these two regions are direct neighbors. After you clear the main game, your post-game is Kanto, with old characters, music, pokémon, etc. (Also Pokémon Stadium 2 (3 in japan) released this gen) Generation 3, Hoenn and Kanto (And Orre): -Base: Ruby and Sapphire -Third Version: Emerald -Remake: Firered and Leafgreen -Note: Stadium 4 doesn't exist but this time there's two "kind of sort of canon", genuine adventure-around-a-region-and-catch-pokémon-and-is-compatible-with-the-mainline-games Pokémon games called Colosseum and Colosseum: XD Gale of Darkness. These take place in the Orre region, but...these games haven't been acknowledged since they released. Generation 4, Sinnoh and Johto (and Kanto): -Base: Diamond and Pearl -Third Version: Platinum -Remake: Heartgold and Soulsilver -Note: I know I said Stadium 3/4 doesn't exist but Battle Revolution is basically stadium 4. In gens 3, 4, and 5 there's a butt ton of games you can connect your "mainline" games to but I'm just going over the big important ones. Generation 4 may have had the most though, they went STUPID with the amount of spinoffs this generation Generation 5, Unova: -Base: Black and White, Black 2 and White 2 -Third Version: None -Remake: None -Note: These games came out in the last years of the DS, but... Strangely enough I need to bring up this very strange very tiny spinoff released on the next system called Pokémon Dream Radar, where you use the 3DS's camera app to point around the room and shoot circles. Because the one character from this game shows up as another character's wife in 2 generations from now. (You can obtain pokémon in this game and send them to B2W2.) Generation 6, Kalos and Hoenn: -Base: X and Y -Third Version: Surprisingly, none. -Remake: Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire -Note: None????? I dont think they released any games compatible with the mainline games besides the Bank app where you store excess Pokémon. Is this the generation when Pokémon Go released??? Y'know what lets just say yeah that counts i guess Generation 7, Alola, Kanto: -Base: Sun and Moon -Third Version: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon -Remake: Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee -Note: Yes that technically means Kanto has been remade 5 times. Generation 8, Galar and Hisui(Ancient Sinnoh): -Base: Sword and Shield ~~-Third Version:~~ -DLC: Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra -Remake: None -Legends: Pokémon Legends Arceus -Note: This was the generation where they said they were going to STOP doing third versions, in favor of DLC. Personally...I kind of prefer the third versions. A lot of Pokémon games nowadays can use an extra year in the oven anyways, because that extra year fixes a lot of the base game's issues (Diamond and Pearl are sloppy but Platinum is regarded as one of the top 3 games in the series by everyone). I like Sword and Shield and LOVE scarlet and Violet but an extra year would have made these games a lot less clowned on. Generation 9, Paldea and Kalos(?): -Base: Scarlet and Violet -DLC: Teal Mask and Indigo Disk -Remake: None (so far) -Legends: Pokémon Legends Z-A -Note: We have reached! Current day. Legends Z-A is set to release next year I believe, amd is set (presumably) in a Kalos of a few hundred years ago.

    To explain the game titles. The music you're listening to originally comes from giratina's batttle in pokemon Platinum. However, in the most recent games post ds era, gamefreak has had a tendency to add the ability to catch previous generation legendary pokemon through post game events. If im not mistaken, giratina is only catchable in platinum, omega ruby, alpha saphire(remakes of the third generation games), and brilliant diamond and shining pearl(remakes of the fourth generation games). As a side, the track you hear in pokemon Legends arceus, is the second phase of a battle that literally shatters series conventions. It was like an npc hacking the game itself to throw you the middle finger

    As far as I know for the longest time it was a *hard hard rule* that the Pokemon logo always be yellow with a blue outline, so the Pokemon Legends Arceus logo finally ditching that I think was meant to display that that game was really going to *change* things. It's technically still mainline, but unlike the previous games which *all* use almost the exact same identical battle system, PLA tries a lot of different stuff for the sake of just a pure singleplayer experience as opposed to the rest of the series which does both a singleplayer story and competitive and casual multiplayer. Pokemon Legends seems to be becoming its own subseries because they recently announced Pokemon Legends Z-A, which is apparently going to take place in the past just like PLA, except Z-A is going to be linked to Pokemon X and Y rather than to Diamond Pearl and Platinum like with Arceus.

    The thing about this theme is that it fits the location it happens in perfectly. Other people have already talked about the Distortion World, so instead let me talk about Sinnoh in general. It’s a mostly piano and brass soundtrack. Which makes the Distortion World so stark in contrast to the overworld. Sinnoh also has a huge Jazz theme in it in the route themes and some city themes, enough so that a guy here on youtube called InsaneInTheRainMusic worked to create a Jazz version of the ENTIRE SINNOH SOUNDTRACK. Which I of course listen to all the time. So yea, on more Platinum/Diamond/Pearl listens, you will find that jazz sound everywhere.

    Ah, Giratina is one of the coolest Pokemon both in terms of the games and music. The best way to describe it as the Pokemon god of antimatter. Lots of people are describing it as the "Pokemon Satan" but it's a little more complicated then that. It's called the Renegade Pokemon and is part of what is known as the Creation Trio, three legendary Pokemon associated with the in universe creation myth for the world. Giratina was banished for its violence, even described by one character as the "unwanted child" of the universe God, and in rage for it's imprisonment it set in motion the plot of Legends Arceus. However, after that it mellows out and while still very dangerous it isn't lashing out any more, even protecting the world from the same destruction it tried to do itself. And oh yeah, the Giritina flat line is one of the most iconic parts of the theme.

    This also plays directly after Volo's battle, as you fight him and his 6 Pokemon, Giritina, then Giritina in its Origin Form (8 pokemon, two of which are legendaries, with no brake in between, with Volo having Cynthia's (the song you listened to before this) entire team, but higher level (she was the champion of Diamond/Pearl/Platinum)

    Cynthia and Giratina on the same day? What an amazing gift I like to describe this song as "violent chaos," which fits Giratina to a T. It's part of a trio with Dialga and Palkia, who control time and space respectively, but it was banished to an alternate dimension called the Distortion World for violence. It's theorized that it rules over antimatter or gravity, but nothing has been confirmed. The Distortion World itself is a void of chaos, where the laws of time and space don't apply. Lot's of disappearing and reappearing objects, surfing up waterfalls that flow between two basins, that kind of thing. Giratina is frequently equated to Satan by the community (not officially, obviously), which fits pretty well. It's also one of my favorite Pokemon, if you couldn't tell. About actually fighting it: You've always fought legendary Pokemon directly (like Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in Red/Blue/Yellow), but the fights tend to be pretty underwhelming mechanically since they're just normal battles with Pokemon that are strong, but not hugely more powerful than regular Pokemon. In more recent games (starting from Sun and Moon), they've started making actual "boss fights," giving them stat boosts during the fight or having them call reinforcements, or using a whole raid system for some of them in Sword/Shield and Scarlet/Violet, among other mechanics (Giratina falls into the stat boosts category in Legends). It's one thing I really appreciate about the newer games, out of the sea of complaints and issues and shortcomings they have.

    Jesse, for Pokémon music best listen to uploads by "Goldenrod Radio". They always list all the composers and upload the music with the highest quality available! For Platinum, Junichi Masuda composed it. But Go Ichinose arranged both the Platinum and Legends Arceus versions! =) Once we get to route themes of Sinnoh and Hissui (which is just the "Ancient Sinnoh" of PLA), there will be a TON of tracks by Hitomi Sato, who did the majority of the music. She just did not do too many battle themes! =P

    Pokemon gen 4 (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) went kinda hard with the lore for Legendary Pokémon, being where they made a Pokémon that was essentially god, and then another that was essentially the devil. Giratina, the "Renegade Pokémon" being the latter. Its battle theme, then, is appropriately aggressive, chaotic and overwhelming. Good catch on the heart-rate flatline, by the way! You could say this theme is truly... *heart-stopping!*

    This is one theme that doesn't stick in my head when it comes to legendary battle themes but it's always great when I revisit it. I love how chaotic it is and how at times it sounds like the song is distorting. The melodies are also really cool, this theme sounds dangerous which I love since you usually fight this fella in the Distortion World. Great theme, gen 4 never misses with any of it's songs. The version in Legends Arceus is such a cool version of the song, it has a more of a older sound while making the song sound even more dangerous. Which makes sense because in Legends Arceus Pokemon and people living together is very new and some attack you if you get too close. It keeps the reality warping feel that the original had but lessens it a bit. Two great songs. You mentioned how generation 1 of Pokemon started your love for vgm, generation 4 helped do that for me so I find that pretty cool.

    The reason Legends Arceus characters look like that is because its a prequel to Diamond Pearl and Platinum in terms of the story. Giratina is basically the ''satan'' of Pokemon in Legends Cynthia's ancestor used it trying to rebel and bring down God pretty much (Arceus), and a cool little detail not everyone noticed is that in Platinum it acts as a hero stoping the main villain's plans sending him to the pokemon world's version of ''hell'' which is neat cuz in Legends after catching Giratina you learn it was scared of the player defeating them. So it switched sides after being defeated.

    For the most part Pokemon games are self-contained even though they supposedly happen on the same planet/timeline, but there are straight-up continuations (even as early as Pokemon Red/Blue -->Pokemon Gold/Silver technically) and characters from earlier entries can be referenced or do cameos in later ones.

    Scarlet and Violet are the latest games in the main Pokemon series currently, they released in 2023, and from what we know the next one will be Pokemon Legends Z-A, a game taking place in the same region as Pokemon X/Y. It'll come out in 2025, and it's been a while since main pokemon games content skipped a year... But it also means that GameFreak is finally taking its time and not rushing development, so many fans are ok with the wait, myself included :D

  • @ChazzzyF
    @ChazzzyFАй бұрын

    Lots of people are doing a good job explaining Giratina's lore, but lemme talk about the way game releases work. So, when a new "generation" of Pokemon comes out, they'll usually release it as 2 games that are functionally the same but have minor differences between them (Red and Blue, for example, are the same game, but theres a couple Pokemon exclusive to each one). At one point it may have been conceived as a way to get people to interact and trade with each other, but its ostensibly a cash grab. Then, a year or two later, they would release a "third version", which combines the stuff from the two other versions and also adds some additional content, essentially being "the complete version" of that generation (there's exceptions to this, and also with the Switch these have essentially transformed into being DLC instead) Platinum was the "third version" of the 4th generation of Pokemon (all 3 games were on the DS), and also game that Giratina debuted in. It was the major boss of the additional content added in that game. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (released on the 3DS) were remakes of the 3rd generation games, which also brought back many of the legendaries from other games, including Giratina. Giratina's theme was not remixed for OR/AS, they just ripped the song from Platinum, so thats why the song is from both Platinum and OR/AS. Legends Arceus (released for the Switch) is effectively a spinoff game taking place in the distant past in the region where the 4th generation was, so they remixed Giratina's theme for when it shows up as a post-game boss. Also, Pokemon generations are more or less self-contained, but do happen in the same world. Like, each Pokemon generation essentially takes place in a different country, and in most of the games you can't travel to another country, but you can still find a Pikachu pretty much wherever.

  • @gatr2897
    @gatr2897Ай бұрын

    The first theme you heard was from Pokemon Platinum on the DS which is the game Giratina debuted in, and in which it was the mascot on the box. The exact same theme was reused in ORAS on the 3DS since Giratina can be found in that game too, just with way way less story relevance. Then in PLA on the Switch, which takes place in the same place that Platinum did but hundreds of years ago, Giratina appears in thr story again with an updated theme. Pokemon game stories are *mostly* self contained, but there's always a handful of connections to the other games since it's all in the same world, just in different regions. Giratina is an extremely powerful legendary Pokemon, and is part of a group of legendaries that fans call the Creation Trio. Dialga and Palkia are the other 2 in that group. All 3 of them are lorded over by Arceus who is the Pokemon that according to myth created everything that exists. Dialga is the God of time, Palkia is the God of space and dimensions, but Giratina is a little more complicated. It was banished to the distortion world by Arceus a long time ago due to its violent nature, but it seems to still be able to pop its head into reality at least a decent bit. I'll explain PLA first since it comes first chronologically. In that game it teamed up with a trainer called Volo who was an ancestor of Cynthia. Volo is the classic "I wanna erase the universe and become its creator" type of villain, so he basically wanted to conquer Arceus. What a coincidence! Giratina hates that guy too, so they cause some mayhem by getting Dialga and Palkia in the same room which always results in a crazy fight, but the player takes care of that without even knowing Volo or Giratina were behind it lol, so they try to eliminate the player directly after revealing the truth to them but after a crazy tough battle they're defeated. Giratina runs off and Volo is forced to as well. Then if you go to a specific cave in the game you can rematch Giratina and catch it :D In Pokemon Platinum a similar villain called Cyrus pops up wanting to create a universe without emotion or whatever so he tries to harness the powers of Dialga and Palkia, but Giratina appears during the ritual and frees both of them and pulls Cyrus into the distortion world where he presumably ends up spending all of eternity in after the player follows thru the portal and defeats him, and then you get to battle Giratina and catch it :D I like to think that this shows a bit of a character arc in reverse. The events of PLA happen and then Giratina spends about a human lifetime traveling with the player, and then he shows up again in Platinum and is more mellowed out and actually does some good. There's a constant idea in the series that there's no such thing as an evil Pokemon, and Giratina shows that that's true even in such an extreme scenerio.

    The idea that Pokemon games were like Final Fantasy surprised me. They are similarly meant to be entirely playable as standalones with any as your entry point, but they take place in the same world, unlike Final Fantasy entries. Gen 1>2 was actually a direct sequel with the new protagonist dealing with the fallout of the original protag decapitating Team Rocket; you can even find and fight most of the old big names, including the semi-retired Giovanni and original protagonist. After that the Generations each take place in regions that are further apart than Gen 1 and 2 were, so there isn't much overlap, but the occasional familiar character will show up. Gen 5 even had a world tournament where you could see pretty much all the notables from past games. (There may be a bit of comic book style shenanigans with the timeline splitting at Gen 6. It's possibly no longer truly a direct continuity across that gap, but rather a parallel universe with a major key difference. Or you can just interpret it as a regular retcon. Afaik it's ambiguous, but maybe someone can correct me)

    The split timeline thing was confirmed but they never really did anything with it so it’s mostly in the camp of “just don’t think about it”. Pokémon has done a lot of great things throughout its many years as a franchise but coherent storytelling has not been one of them.

    @FElord-dw1syАй бұрын

    So just wanted to give some background info. Pokemon games are largely separate but take place in locations called regions. Gen 1 was Kanto, whereas Generation 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald on the Game Boy Advance) were Hoenn, and Gen 4 (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum on the Nintendo DS) was Sinnoh. Also with Emerald, Platinum, and Crystal (for Gen 2), those are the 3rd versions of the games, released later usually with Quality of Life's, tweaks, balances, and new content. Giratina was part of Platinum's new content. Giratina is a legendary pokemon, and part of the Creation Trio. That group consists of Dialga (God of time), Palkia (god of space), and Giratina (god of anti-matter, and has many comparisons with Satan in lore). They often make past legendaries obtainable in future games, as to make it easier to have them in the newer games. So that is why Giratina appears in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which are remakes of the Gen 3 games on the Nintendo 3DS. They did this by tying it to a pokemon whose lore involves hopping between dimensions and leaving the gates around named Hoopa. For nostalgia purposes and to save money they reused the Platinum soundtrack (with many other legendaries having their most recent theme used) Pokemon Legend's Arceus takes place in the past of the Sinnoh region, then known as the Hisui region. For context in this case, some legendary Pokemon have 2(or more) forms. For Giratina, this is when he's either in or outside of the distortion world he calls home. Also in the Pokemon games, you battle with the pokemon you collect. It nearly always is up to a 6v6, but usually less, as NPC trainers with 6 pokemon are usually hard encounters and are named characters. In the context of the Giratina fight in Legends Arceus, it comes right after a fairly difficult fight against a trainer with 6 pokemon, with no time to heal inbetween. Giratina functions as a 7th pokemon, and once you beat it and think it's over, it transforms into its other form, becoming functionally an 8th pokemon you need to overcome. In terms of the series this is unheard of and very unique. While the fight can be easily beaten with preparation, the difficulty from going into it blind and not expecting it makes it very memorable to a lot of players.

    WHAAAAAAAT The original giritina themes is one of my favorites from pokemon. It's the theme of literally pokemon Satin. You are battling him in his own dimension, called the distortion world, and he has full control over it. That's why the theme is so chaotic, you are literally fighting a dimensional matter warping demon and its just so perfect.

    4:15 You're looking at. Giratina. (Origin Form) The Renegade Pokemon. Im going to go over the Pokedex entries now. You can just skim them. A Pokémon that is said to live in a world on the reverse side of ours. It appears in an ancient cemetery. It was banished for its violence. It silently gazed upon the old world from the Distortion World. This Pokémon is said to live in a world on the reverse side of ours, where common knowledge is distorted and strange. There is one Hisuian verse that tells of a powerful light creating a deep shadow. I imagine that this deep shadow is Giratina. (Origin Form) Giratina loses its legs upon changing into this form. I believe this Pokémon must hail from a world where the heavens and the earth are as one, though I have no way of proving it.

Which is why the music is all over the place and never lets u know where you are. You encounter two deities sometime before this fight, which were already presented as the world-ending disaster. So imagine ppls reactiom when the evil, ultimate one appears to destroy the world. Which is why they added the flatline, u will die. You were bang on about that

    Explaining the "self-contained storylines" stuff that you mentioned in terms of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire... Each Pokemon "generation" has different versions. That contain similar is not the same story lines based on the generation. Like you said that you'd played Pokemon Yellow, which is a Generation 1 game released on the Gameboy. The other Generatiom version "counterparts" are Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue. They have the same story, but are slightly different. In modern titles, each version has version exclusive Pokemon in the wild and version exclusive Legendary Pokemon to "go with the title." (Giratina is the version exclusive legendary for Pokemon Platinum.)
