I mean he likes to show us a string of encounters and then cut to finding the shiny encounter. Would be cool to see a non-shiny into a shiny as some proof.

@@gray4018 Ah, true. I think _some_ roll into the shiny, albeit a little fast since the emulator speed up or whatever, but there are also quite a few where it just pops into existence

The determination for doing that many encounters for each Pokemon... wow, I don't have the patience for that despite shiny hunting as a hobby! My first shiny in Gen 4 was Bibarel (Great Marsh, and I caught it) so seeing Bibarel in here was nice :)

When you shiny hunted for houndor you could’ve gone a bit down to the right in the other bush to potentially get houndoom. It also spawns pretty often.

Do a run with in order to progress to each different route you have to encounter or catch a shiny in that specific route like route 1, able to move to route 2, etc. it’ll take long but would be something pretty challenging.

Currently trying to complete the Dex with shinies on brilliant diamond, so far I have a starly, palkia and all three starters

Not only is the starter shiny, but it's a female. That is even exponentially rarer because starters only have a 12% chance for female to begin with. Ngl kinda jealous of your Piplup as it's my favorite and I'd reset tons of times for a female, but never for a shiny lol

Great vid, I’ve had that happen with the exact same Pokémon in Eterna Forest before, also, Storm Drain works differently in Gen 4, it still takes damage from Water moves and doesn’t raise Sp. Atk, it’s pretty much only useful in doubles where it can stop Water moves from hitting Infernape for example

I saw this after buying a DS lite, saw you had 21k attempts (on DS lite it’s around 1 min per reset on starter) I thought it would’ve took weeks but I hit it on 258 tries

Damn, 21k resets is rough. The feels man. The one sr shiny i ever got on platinum was giratina and i only reseted like 150 times.

My first shiny ever while completing the game was on firered with psyduck and the second was pokemon pearl with a shiny budew

Because all of his shinies are cheated in because he's playing on an emulator. It's also very obvious in his previous video at around 15 mins in for the shiny lapras. I get hes gotta make content, but lying to people is pretty scummy

My first shiny was actually when I first bought ruby pre owned. He had a level 100 shiny torchic… which was interesting. The first one I actually found was a shiny ladyba (idk how it’s spelled) in pearl. And then a shiny torcoal in Pokémon ruby while EV training one of them electric whale Pokémon. Man my poke knowledge is a solid 4/10 at this point haha!

First random shiny was a bidoof in this same game. Almost ran from it but at second glance i thought holy shit thats shiny. Also found a random shiny dugtrio in y and magikarp in shield

Nope, my first shiny was Caterpie in Gold for the GBC. Then I got Krabby on the same file. Also have several from Gen 3. Every single one of my shinies was earned through hard work and sheer luck, and I have a lot of them.

Here's a tip even if it's a shiny only rub catch a HM mon for HMS as a lot of move deleters are late game

Lucky considering it's 1/8×10^5

I've had a few rough hunts myself, but no higher than about 15,000. At 21,000 that's about a 92% chance to find the shiny, so it's not THAT rare for hunts to take significantly longer. All part of the game I suppose! Good luck with all of your shiny hunting endeavours 😁

But if you had 21,000 people who each have 1 encounter for 21,000 total encounters, then statistically there's a 92% chance that one of them will find the shiny. How long these encounters take depends on which Pokémon you're hunting.
