    Update thanks to @phosphor6472: At 12:04 I mentioned you could use 2 power items at once and have both of them work, what the game ACTUALLY does is pick one of the 2 power items to have work and then NOT use the other one (but still have the chance of inheriting that stat from the other parent). So you can only guarantee 1 IV thought power items in gen 5.

    the destiny knot only has functionality in gen 6+ (x+y/oras and beyond) and lets you keep 5 IVs from the one parent. However, in BW1+2 and beforehand, there's no functionality for the destiny knot. It's actually genuinely unfortunate as it makes breeding VERY difficult without RNG abuse. If there IS something else i'm missing or something I said wrong here, PLEASE do nitpick. I would hate for someone to get misinformed from the video. anyway, glad this is useful! • @szyl

    @szyl

    10 ай бұрын

    I didn't get a notification on youtube from this comment, sorry about taking 2 months to reply lol. I'm assuming you meant feraligatr? There's 2 ways, the easy/simple way and the hard way: *Easy Way*: You'd have to get dragon dance from the axew line, kindra line, or dragonite line to breed over dragon dance [after levelving up to get it] (as they all share either the Water 1 or Monster egg group). Then you just get Ice Punch from the BW2 move tutor in Dirftveil City for 10 red shard. *Hard Way*: Get Abamasnow to learn Ice Punch (He's the ONLY one in gen 5), then breed him with a haxorus who then has to learn dragon dance via level up (he's the only one who shared the "Monster" egg group). From there, breed that Haxorus with the feraligatr line. Make sure when breeding, that the pokemon you want to get the moves from (such as abomasnow in the hard way) are the MALE parent when breeding, they're the only ones who pass down egg moves specifically. I hope this helped you even if I was hella late. Source for most of this info: www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/160.shtml

    Am I able to get two egg moves on one pokemon at once? You mentioned how it's possible for a pokemon to learn two egg moves but not at the same time. I'm guessing I'd have to breed the father who has the move with the mother, get that egg as a female, get ride of her moves other than the egg move. Do the same for the father of the second egg move, and then breed for the second egg move?

  • @szyl

    @szyl

    10 ай бұрын

    yes, you'd need the pokemon breeding to have the egg moves on it. I think you can have a full 4 egg moves on certain pokemon (that can breed with smeargle) for this reason. I myself was working on getting a pokemon with roost and cosmic power which required a total of like 6 pokemon in order to transfer the proper egg moves over to the father. I was trying to explain this at 7:30 in the video.

  • @E1deRival

    @E1deRival

    10 ай бұрын

    As it turns out, the only way I can get two egg moves on one pokemon is if the father can learn both egg moves. The mother cannot pass down egg moves apparently whatsoever. I had a venomoth that only knew baton pass and a shelmet that only knew giga drain and the eggs would always end up with one of the egg moves and not the other. And I can't breed venonat or shelmet with smeargle, they're in the bug type egg group

  • @E1deRival

    @E1deRival

    10 ай бұрын

    My female venonat has giga drain and I also have a male venonat that knows baton pass. When I breed them, it gets rid of giga drain for baton pass. And if I use a male venonat that knows giga drain, then giga drain takes priority over baton pass. The other moves just end up being basic first evo moves like scratch, leer, etc.

  • @szyl

    @szyl

    10 ай бұрын

    @@E1deRival yes, only the father can get egg moves as I wrote in my reply before. If you want giga drain AND baton pass through egg moves on venonat, you would want a shelmet who gets baton pass as an egg move (so breed it only shelmet from a male: ledyba, ninjask, surskit, ledian, or scoipede), keep hatching until you get a male shelmet, and then learns giga drain via level up (for shelmet this is at level 37). From there you simply breed with a female venonat. Also, if you're playing gen 5 specifically, you can just have Venonat learn giga drain from a move tutor in BW2 (the humilau city move tutor for 10 yellow shard) and trade it to whatever gen 5 game you want from there instead of doing the leveling, and instead just transfer baton pass the same way as above. Source: www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/048.shtml (hitting details on each egg move and checking the groups) To clarify the thing with smeargle, smeargle doesn't breed to learn moves, it just uses sketch on the 4 moves needed and breeds to pass them down (only to pokemon in its egg group). Let me know if you still don't understand something.
