The shiny version of the outfit can only be obtained after you've already obtained the base version, the guidebook has a typo that says otherwise, but will cause you to lose the outfit if you don't already have the base version

this is false information, you can only receive the shiny costume if you've never received the costume the typo is in the French version of the guide book that says you need the regular costume first in order to get the shiny costumes you can only own one costume, so if you battle a shiny costume and win but have the regular you can not get the shiny costume and vice versa again I can't stress how wrong you are you can not get the shiny costume if you have the regular one if you think I'm wrong watch AbsolBlogsPokemon's video as he hunted it

Although it may be heresy to say this, but it IS my favorite Generation 4 Pokemon game, yes above even Platinum, EOS, or the Ranger games (but again, opinions) but again, that's probably because i'm a freak for Gen 4's battle system.

@@ReferenceGetter There is no heresy. Battle Revolution is all about battling again and again. In fact, I think that what makes the charm of the game is the *way* you are battling. Every colosseum has its own music, rules and atmospere.

Honestly it is. Despite some tracks just being short pieces of looped music while you’re waiting in a menu or if there’s colosseum tracks I’m not a fan of compared to others, they’re all composed amazingly. Every track has a level of care and excitement put into it that elevates the game from just being a battling simulator.

Aesthetically, PBR is hands down the best home console battler of the Pokémon franchise. The camera work, the animations, the menus, the music!

It's an impressive game but I always felt the overall battle speed was more drawn out and slow compared to the N64 titles.

@@ArbitraryOutcome I felt this as well. I tried doing an only rentals run of the game and would attempt the post game without transferring, but I gave up on that after trade battles. It’s a bit of a slog having to challenge Gateway Colosseum repeatedly in hopes of finding a Pokemon worth trading.

Despite not having any of the gen 4 games, I once owned Battle Revolution and still had a ton of fun back then. This game gets harder as you progress while having those default cards which makes it replayable along with the post-game. but my goodness the Starlight Colosseum is very challenging before AND after the post-game.....

I thought Starlight Colosseum was a bit disappointing on my first play through of it. I’m pretty sure the Colosseum leaders keep the same Pokemon and move sets from their respective colosseums, which doesn’t make for too much of a challenge. And when I finally reached Mysterio, he just spammed Giga Impact with Kingler, which was super easy to work around. Holy shit, the post game Starlight Colosseum run is a different beast though.

For every new generation, there should be a new Pokemon Battle Revolutions version with new GEN pokes.

I completely agree with you. I think PBR should be revived. It’s been 16 years and we haven’t had a game like this. A lot has changed since gen 4 and we have 1010 pokemon now. We need a way where we could use all of them.

I'm guessing it was seen as redundant by Gen VI when it shifted to 3D. That said, PBR (and by extension, Stadium 1 + 2) had the whole quasi-Battle Frontier thing going, something the post-game has forgone in the mainline series.

@@Real_Infinity95 I think that would be less reason to make another colosseum style game. Having to render unique animations and models for over a thousand Pokemon would be a nightmare. Id still love to see a third installment in this series of side games though.

I grew up with a GameCube and later a Wii. I always wanted to play the GBA battles in Colosseum/XD between my friend and I, but we didn’t both own GBAs and also I only had one link cable. So when this game came out, we were hyped! So many fond memories of playing against each other in this game! The music slaps, the stages are really pretty, trainer customization was neat, and the animations were really fun and animated! Also the commentator will forever be living rent free in my brain. Genuinely, if you love the Gen 4 Pokemon games, this is a fantastic game to play with friends.

I always saw this game as complimentary to diamond and pearl rather than a replacement or a standalone. You play those games for the adventure, story, catching, etc. You use this one to see your pokemon in hd and battle friends with all the cool special effects. I poured way more time battling friends than doing the main content, even after clearing that stuff.

I miss this game so much had so much fun battling and all the other things and each stadium

this slowly becoming one of my fav Pokemon channels i hope u do a video on pokemon Ultra Sun and more pokemon games you actually think are top tier

Interesting video. I only played the game a little when it came out and just got disappointed that it didn't have any story like Colosseum and XD. Thanks for making me see some of the good in it.

Glad someone finally spoke about Trade Battle, really is the best part of the game and makes it playable without a DS, still want a Poketuber to make a detailed video about beating post game Stargazer using only Pokémon got there.

This was my first ever Pokémon game and ost were killer I especially love Stargazer colosseum I just wished that they would bring it over to switch or this should’ve been what SWSH was I don’t lie I liked SWSH but I just wish that they done more. When I get my hands on my DS charger I am gonna play some heart gold if only I still had this game lost it from moving too much.

With the Entire systems that surround the news games and not every Pokemon being available, a game like this would be very helpful in general. As of course the competitive scene just doesn't have every Pokemon or mechanic in SWSH it makes it hard to have a "Definitive" battling experience on the Switch, and while they easily good make another game like this one, Colo, XD, or the stadium games, Odds are it'll never happen as visually there's not much of a reason to, all 5 of these games had appeal due to their models, not being just sprites. It was weird when Generation 5 didn't have one, but Gen 6 onwards it seems the only reason they were made at all is irrelevant due to the modern games having models and whatnot, which is a shame. A remastering of this game could've done well alongside BDSP being very similar and all.

First rental pass I chose had a shiny Staravia, shame it's not transferrable!

I love this game I've had the Wii for most of my life and this was always my favorite game (besides smash melee/brawl) the ost slaps especially neon colosseum

I'm okay with no mini-games, but I missed the Pokémon Academy, and it really could've used a Gym Leader Castle. Still, catchy music and good graphics.

The Main problem with this game is that if You don't have ds console You are basically screwed you can't have more than 6 pre-made teams and there if You are playing on single player there isn't really much to do the main stadium fights are only 10 stages Even pokemón stadium in the 64 used to have mini-games and battle towers this game just sucks
