Poke Recipe | Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke

My Spicy Ahi (Tuna) Poke is another favorite of our friends and family.
Ingredients
• 1 pound of Ahi Tuna cut into cubes
• Hawaiian salt to taste - approximately ½ TBSP
• Diced red onions
• Tobiko (flying fish roe)
• Ground toasted white sesame seeds
• Chopped green onions
• Sauce
o Mayonnaise (preferably Kewpie)
o Gochujang (red chili pepper paste)
o Sesame seed oil
Directions
1. If using frozen Ahi, be sure to defrost thoroughly and pat dry with a paper towel
2. Add Hawaiian salt, stir and let sit for 15-20 minutes
3. Add onions, tobiko and sesame seeds
4. In a separate bowl, mix sauce ingredients
5. Add to Ahi
6. Add green onions
7. Mix
8. Enjoy

    wow! thank you for the great comment. Glad you enjoyed it. I recommend the Natto video - I am not a natto fan but a buddy requested I do a poke version of the Japanese dish maguro natto. I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.

    At my job we use a gallon of kewpie 2 cups varying of rice vineagar, Sriracha, and Rayu, then 2-6oz bottle of Momiji Orishi, and 3 TBSP of Ichimi togarashi. Take away the harsh garlic of the sriracha while using its heat.

    Just subscribed. Would this be the same ingredients as making the spicy tako poke? A friend of mine made some, and I've been searching the internet for it, so I imagine it would be prepared the same way as this?

    You can definitely use tako with this recipe. Some spicy take poke recipes are closer to a kimchi type sauce. I personally use Korean Red Chilli Powder or chilli threads to make spicy tako as I prefer the tako to not be in "sauce". I have videos for both.
