Its hard to unlearn but in XD being handed an Ursaring with return (technically is a tediursa) teaches you to respect stab normal.

@@jasonreed7522 also, if you aren't getting a KO anyway, sometimes it's better to use a weaker hit to prevent certain abilities/berries/healing from triggering

@@andreescalona8902 oh definitely, learning to break sturdy, or deal chip damage to avoid a heal is huge. Granted in normal play I can't be bothered to do calcs. (I have never actually done full damage calcs in any run, the farthest i go is estimate my highest damage move)

The best part of the run was Bloody asking you what type the gym leader was on every single gym.

"Everyone makes mistakes and all we can do is learn from them" so true. And I imagine that as a less experienced nuzlocker, combined with livestreaming, pulling a hard stop mid battle to look up information and run calcs isn't nearly as fun as taking the risk and hoping for the best. I'm not very far into this video, but I'm really excited to see how far you can both make it! (And how many dramatic cutaway FlygonHG eulogies we get.)

They have the synergy of two band/theater kids from different schools talking to each other for the first time. I love the awkwardness.

The innumerable times that Bloody asked what type the upcoming gym was had me laughing at your reaction every time lmao.

The one thing missing from this video is Bloody's regret after naming the Vaporeon lol

Some of the pairings of the names were perfect. Creepy and Crawlie & Shock and Awe were particularly fitting - great stuff

as someone who was pretty much raised by Shady and Nappy’s SoulLink series, this run was seriously a blast to watch! it was so nostalgic seeing Bloody learn the ropes and you guys have great synergy together. hope you consider doing more SoulLinks in the future!

40:28 yeah I’m pretty sure that Raikou is supposed to be archeops. Considering it’s BST is 567 and it’s only 13 points of to Raikou’s 580 BST Fun video and fun run.

The fact that the pidove was named Fight and the Primeape was named Flight instead of the other way around felt so wrong 🤣

Fun fact: in gen 5 nothing could resist both dragon and fire Dragon hits everything for at least neutral damage besides steel which fire is super effective vs. Obvs changed in gen 6 tho with stuff like rock fairy or water fairy

nice run also, you should start calling yourself Flyg-One-HP, due to the enormous amount of missed killing ranges lol. I feel your pain everytime an enemy resists with 1 HP

I watched the highlights on both Flygon's highlights channel and Bloody's channel; this was such a fun run to watch and the two have such a delightful synergy together.

Regarding the Raikou on N's team, I'm assuming that Archeops was grouped in with the legendaries due to having a BST of 567 (which is balanced out by having an actively detrimental ability). I'm not sure exactly how randomisation by power level works, but the highest BST for a non-legendary, non-psuedo Pokemon (without a detrimental ability) is 555 on Arcanine, so maybe the randomiser's power level groups ended at 560 or something for non-legendary Pokemon, and as a result Archeops was just high enough to be considered a weaker legendary by that logic.

The point isn't about slaking or archeops' power level vs ability. It's that the developers of the randomizer had to make a choice as to what BST tiers exist. The guy above is saying that if you take the highest BST non (pseudo) legendary without a handicap, you get Arcanine with a 555 BST. That makes it a logical barrier to distinguish between legendary/non-legendary and could explain why Raikou popped up.

I love these unique twists on regular Nuzlockes. One I've been doing recently is where you are given free reign to build a full team of six before the first gym, but then you're locked into that team for the full run. Currently doing an Omega Ruby run with a team of Ralts, Wingull, Seedot, Shroomish, Whismur, and Nincada. It's fun to see new and interesting challenges

Hoenn has one of the strongest pre-Gym 1 encounter lists in the series, so enjoy Gardevoir, Breloom, and Shiftry bending the game over their knees!

Watched all the Highlights, Bloody's version and now yours. Was a treat to see y'all play together! The nuzlocking tips and just overall foreshadowing/script writing was incredible well done here. Made everything feel fresh despite having seen it a couple times already.

I really enjoy watching these kinds of videos. A real twist from the average monotype locke or regular nuzlocke. Plus it introduces us to other small youtubers that we may enjoy. Keep up the great work 💯

Now I want to see some good fanart of Hilbert and Hilda with their hearts chained together like in the thumbnail.

It was so fun watching you do a Soul Link with someone who's barely done any Nuzlockes before! Yeah, it's an opportunity for you to provide tips and tricks, but also it was so great to see her get excited about things that more experienced Nuzlockers (understandably) take for granted. Between the two of you, it really was the best of both worlds!

Looks like Iris's type was "Bugged Type" this game- a Butterfree, a Heracross, and a glitch.

I loved watching the highlights of this!! You and Bloody had such a great dynamic and this was so fun :)

I started a soulink in HGSS with a friend. His Geodude died from a bubblebeam from Whitney's Clefairy, who used metronome.

Cannot BELIEVE you referenced the rather obscure B.o.B and Swizzle collaboration. I am so impressed, Dr. HG.

I gotta say, I really like your channel composition. Sometimes I have no time so I like watching these more polished videos. Other times I have a lot so it’s fun getting in depth with the highlights channel. Make sure to take plenty of breaks tho!!

The randomizer got a relatively recent update where it randomizes enemy trainer moves too (and "prefers better moves") which can make runs more interesting (and definitely more chaotic)

Awesome Video, liked it a lot :) As this video is a lot about learning, the Clefable fight was unlucky, but it was still a misplay to stay in with half health against it. It is hard to recognize that while being so unfortunate, but switching was always the much safer play.

I really wish there was room in this video to include bloody asking for type confirmation before every gym. That was a great thread from the highlights.

Dope video, remember there are a few moves that actually bypass accuracy checks after a pokemon uses minimize, like body slam. It also doubles power.

Soul Links are always fun as they add an element of chance to the nuzlock, which cannot be avoided.

Upon knowing that Blubby was not familiar with Nuzlocke, playing Soul Link with her seems risky.. She tried her best.
