I cried twice during this game. First when Arven's Mabostiff got better out of happiness, and then when AI Turo told Arven his father loved him and was so proud of him, out of pure sadness.

What makes that even more sad is that the AI basically admitts it has the same feelings, but is never able to call Arven "Son" or directly tell him that it loves him. Probably because it is afraid he may reject it.

@@hamdepaf6686 tbh I interpreted that as Arvens dad really not even caring about him, since he was so consumed by his dream and research. But instead the AI, who developed its own desires despite the professors memories and coding and became somewhat of a seperate person, grew to love Arven as a son, aided by the professors memories of him. Tho that's probably more bleak and convoluted lol

@@holysnails well that is entierly possible, I myself believe that the desires and emotions of the AI where different from the professor. However I think they are still too close to each other to be so entierly different. I think the original did care about Arven... a bit. They where absolutely consumed by their dream to a point that it killed them, but you can be a shit parent while still caring, just in the wrong way. I think the AI is a version of the professor that wasn't consumed by their work and in turn wanted to be more of a parent to Arven, just sucks that the parent that cares enough about Arven is the one stuck in a deep crater. I am also curious what happened to the Sada/Turo in the respective other game, they where mentioned to have left after Arven was born, either they left with Arven and raised him. Tho it is weird he never mentions them, it isn't completely implausable that due to them being more of a "given" in his life he is obviously more concerned with the parent that is absent. Or they went completely missing, thing is, the violet/scarlet book sugests that time travel was possible before the time machine, due to the pokemon already appearing in Area zero (with the scarlet version def not being a "has survived since then") so the time machine mostly just directs this phenomenon. Now a person who "just left" once their child was born who apparently worked together with their spouse on a time machine, in a crater that does occasional time travel, might actually have been trapped in time (tho this is major crack theory territory). Just begs the question if they went missing in the time their partner (and the game) where concerned with, or if they where trapped in the time they themselves where interested in.

honestly, so fierce of poppy for being one of the elite four, like, she probably still dont know how to spell pokemon but werk queen😍

1:11:21 This was the most amazing thing the Pkmn Company could’ve done when everyone was simping for the professors when they were revealed months ago. It’s so tragic though, and Arven didn’t deserve this. In either game, he lost his parent(s), and even the last time he gets to see them, it isn’t quite them. I can’t even imagine what that must feel like. It’s also super interesting, cuz both professors, Sada/Turo, neither had any malice with their actions. They wanted nothing more then to allow Pokémon of different times to live with the present ones, but their research and their desires lead to their own demise and the destruction of their relationships with Arven

The professor wanted both past/future and present pokemon to coexist but that could not happen due to how dangerous the former are to the later that they could turn an entire ecosystem upside down by just existing.

Bruh he just absolutely WENT THROUGH IT in this Pokémon game, his dog getting ptsd, his parents basically choosing miraidon/koraidon over him at one point, mommy/daddy issues, and learning about their fricken death. This has to be one of the most traumatic characters Pokémon has ever released.

Team Star's story is a lot deeper than you may have found. The idea is that the entire team, the 5 bosses and Penny, were all bullied -relentlessly- at school. And the teachers did nothing about it. So, they got together and stood up to their bullies as Team Star. The bullies were wimps and ran away without even sending out a single pokemon, and all dropped out from fear. This caused a big scandal, and the school was forced to take action. Instead of expelling the whole team, however, Penny took the fall, and was suspended for a year and a half, sent back home to Galar to study as punishment. However, when she got back, she realized that Team Star was just a group of bullies now, as evidenced by them trying to forcibly recruit her at the start of the game. That's when she decided to start Operation Starfall. She didn't want them to keep it up, but she knew that if they kept it up, they'd get expelled, so she wanted us to help disband them so they'd return to school and not get punished so badly. In the end, we help her not only save Team Star from being expelled and punished, but they even get the chance to redeem themselves by working as training gyms for the whole school. It's honestly a really great storyline, despite the... lackluster auto-battle stuff. The Boss fights were amazing, though, imho.

Yeah this game would definitely be one of the best games if not for the glitches, Pokémon released it too early but the amount of depth in this game is insane. Team star and Arven’s complete backstory are just heartbreaking, Nemona is basically just a friend, but that’s ok. It’s just their backstories are crazy, and the ending is great to see the friend group come together and put it aside and be what I consider the mystery game (Arven is fred, penny is Velma, nemona is daphne, the main character is shaggy, and miraidon is scooby, you cannot prove me wrong on this😂. But basically it’s just great to see them all come together and be a great friend group.)

I freaking LOVE Team Star’s storyline!! Okay, so my friend, last year, got into a fight. He didn’t start it, but he got his head bashed into a wall hard enough to make a hole in the wall and for him to get a concussion. He did not fight back. He got *suspended.* HE DID LITERALLY NOTHING WRONG.

I've watched Arven fall down the cliff at 57:03 so many times it's so fucking funny this game is gold

THIS. We already know we’re pretty much guaranteed to get dlc for this game and I really hope they expand in the Time Machine stuff. Maybe make the Time Machine get fixed by someone and you have to go into the Time Machine to do something idk but I really hope we get to se more of the idea AND DEFINITELY more paradox pokemon because the past versions are great

This game obviously is very glitchy, but I love the characters and the story so much.

Holy shit, I just played back the glitch effect scene and very quickly there is a line that reads: "AI Turo has no intention of fighting any more." That's so dark.

I kinda think they gave Penny Eeveelutions to represent what makes the 6 friends of Team Star different, yet the same. My headcanon is that the 2 they left out represent the bullying. Glaceon, their coldness. And Espeon, their psychological attacks.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but when you misspoke "Professor Turo" and said "Duro" you really just said "Hard". I think that's pretty funny.

Nemona is my favorite rival. Not only does she want to see you succeed, but she’s already champion, and she just wants someone on her level to fight her, and win! Also, she’s just Hop but better. Like, WAY better.

incredibly funny thing: Gigaton Hammer's restriction can be bypassed with Protect. You can just keep spamming Gigaton Hammer + Protect in a loop.

I played scarlet and literally sobbed before i even saw arven’s reaction to his mom being dead

honestly i’ve never had a pokemon game make me cry before this one. the story was 11/10.

I just finished scarlet and I legit cried, it's not any less heartbreaking

I knew that Cassieopia was Penny all along cause she outed herself talking as Penny immediately (but also my friend accidently spoiled) I did really like the cutscenes and seeing how they disbanded in the first place and their actual ending was wholesome. Clive and Penny are terrible at disguises though and idk how they managed to fool eachother X'D the real twist was the reunion between them all at the end. Arven's story was sad but the ENDING? that broke me even more for the poor guy

Tbh I felt like the Team Star plotline really pushed the idea that a plot twist isn't the point of a story, but rather about the twists and turns we take to get there. Because with anyone who has any kind of experience reading, the twist was suuuper telegraphed. But what was the most compelling part was the "why" of the situation, and unravelling how each of the characters were affected by/contributed to Team Star. And how that affected the previous staff, even leading one of the close people to one of the leaders to quit their job as well. I'd like to know more about all the teachers that had to quit, seems like a plot thread they could maybe follow up on in DLC. But I went into the team star stuff thinking it would be the worst, came out liking it quite a lot outside of all the laggy auto-battles, but at least the car battles were cool. Still probably my least favorite route for the auto-battles, but the plot was really good.

You answer "No" to the "Do you like Pokemon?" question and your Switch instantly explodes because Nintendo.

I have a theory that Poppy didn't actually 'earn' her spot in the elite 4 since they keep saying Nemona was the youngest person to become Champion Rank ( and I highly doubt that Nemona became Champion Rank as a literal baby) I think the Home Ec teacher is Poppy's Dad and her other parent is dead or in a coma so she just showed up one day and was like ' I'm doing their job until they're better ' and the rest of the elite four let her stay because 1) they feel bad for her and 2) she does have her elite 4 parents' pokemon

Tbh I think all of them have descendants from some kind of powerful families. Look at Hassel with his dragon tamer heritage, Poppy who was likely a recent addition due to her young age and would only make it in via Nepotism or something, Larry because why in the hell would Geeta pick a standard office worker unless there was something special about him (she also seems to kind of dislike him when you choose him in evaluations so I wouldn't imagine there's much bias in picking him), and I'm not so sure about Rika because we lack a lot of info on her in general. They're also connected to titans via their aces, which connect back to the Herba Mystica so there could be something going on there as well.

Yeah the transition from the heart warming moment to Ed Sheeran really took me out of it.

I had the same idea for the Tera gimmick in the gym battles.. Like, my idea for the Grass gym, (they almost had it, with Sudowoodo), was to just have another grass type, maybe something bulky like Appletun, but Tera Rock, and give all the Ace Pokemon the new Tera Blast move.. so now Appletun is a Rock type, with Tera Blast, able to hit back Fire, Flying, and Bug.. 3 typings strong against Grass types normally.. wouldve made the game more tricky and fun, imo

What if when Clive revealed his true identity it’s just your character and proclaims “It is me your evil twin”

Bruh arven WENT THROUGH IT. He had to deal with daddy and mommy issues, he had to go through the trauma of his dog going through ptsd, and had to deal with the death of his parents, plus he had to deal with his parents choosing koraidon/miraidon over him at one point.

Fun fact about the elite 4 and geeta: since the 18 objectives on the map represents the 18 types, that means 5 types werent covered by trainers yet (the titan's types). And they just so happen to be the signature types of the elite 4 and geeta (if you count geeta as a rock type specialist but for the sake of this theory I will since her glimmora has the rock-teratype)

Haven't finished watching the video just yet, but just wanted to say that I absolutely loved watching you play this game!! Genuinely probably one of my favourite pkmn games despite all the issues it has, I love the characters

Did you read the notebooks in each stations? They're Turo's diary. There are entries there that are really heartbreaking. You should read them if you haven't yet. Love your playthrough btw. ♥️

Dude I was doing an outbreak there, while it was RAINING. A Gyarados outbreak. It was terrible.

I feel like 100% of the issues you had with Team Star was because you skipped all the dialogues 😆 58:35 Ironically right, one of the first microwave was built to thaw out consistantly small animal frozen solid without haming them. That's a good plan

Ortega is the best Team Star member. He even uses the best types.

Ai Sada has more fluid animation, what they use to show the mechanical-ness. I wonder if that has intentional, a coincidence or because her hair added more moment to the model. Turo is WAY more jerky. Edit: And Sada has more crystal on her at the ending cutscene. There is also a missing scene in the Paradise Protection Protocol activation scene, the AI telling you to run, it might by your editing but i didn't see a splice.

And it showed Oricorio being Fire/Flying to him when he looked it up because the Baile Form is considered the "default" form for it.

I don’t know if someone answered this for you yet, but the poke balls in the ground are for the character models to have a source to move off of and base distances. They just didn’t work to remove it visually.
