Great design that perfectly matches her personality, down to earth despite having her own fan club and an over protective gym leader as a brother, the only selfless motivation amongst the rivals and, oh yes, a sick battle theme to boot. She would have been great in any other gen, she shines like a star in this game where her competition is a manic depressive Hau clone and a pretentious jackass with daddy issues.

Likely a sequel set around 3-4 years after Sword and Shield main story. Also likely follow the pattern of Black/White 2; new towns/cities, redesigned/new locations, new/revamped wild areas, new raid points and mechanics, plus new story relevant characters. Also likely new/revamped Gym challenges and new gym leaders using types outside the current roaster. Sonia being coordinated as a professor in the main story hinting her to be the main professor in the sequel. Also likely Leon retires his position as a champion to give the new generation a chance to shine but still helps Sonia as a lab assistant/master trainer. Hop becomes the champion through his own hard work and effort. Bede and Marnie still takes up their roles as Gym leaders, having aged up but still helps Leon and Hop in certain situations. Team yell might be disbaned by that time and became gym trainers in Marnie's gym challenge. Also I thought the possible intro of the sequel; the new protagonist rushes out of his/her house in the new town/city, having overslept and running to the train station, barely made into the train on destination to Sonia's lab. He/she found a seat and read the article about the "Darkest Day", the day of Eterantus attack on that memorable league through the Rotom phone. They eventually reached the stop, greeted by 2 of her rivals, with one berating him/her for oversleeping in that important day. They were greeted by Leon and guided to Sonia. Leon then presents the starters with the character choosing the starter and have the first battle. This then progresses to a return train trip home and start of adventure.

Vanessa Chow Jia Ying What happened to the first protagonist though? In BW2, it’s implied Iris beat Hilbert/Hilda and they disappeared, there’s no way that Hop would beat the Sword and Shield protagonists. I feel like battling against a predetermined team based on your starter with the default names of the protagonist would be better as the champion, and if there is a save file of Sword and Shield 1 on the system, it will take the last hall of fame entry as the team used for the champion with your name, while wearing the uniform of your starter(fire, water or grass). The same uniform thing will be applied for the predetermined team with the starter strong to yours. Hop would replace Leon in this game. Leon would instead lead Raihan’s gym on Raihan’s off days and be the battle tower champion instead.

She's cute, calm and mature, and I appreciate her fashion sense I like her

You basically at the end decided to use a move (Behemoth Blade) that went from 100 base power that got doubled because it went against a Gigantimax Pokemon, that was doubled again because it was Super Effective, multiplied again by 1.5 from STAB, and again by 1.5 for +1 attack stage, on an opponent that was at half health and not too bulky at base 95 hp & 65 defense, with a Pokemon that has 170 attack. So 100×2×2×1.5×1.5=900 for the modifiers alone. She wasn't wrong about how you made her look bad, that's for sure! 😝

The exp share is great in sword and shield. I even used a lot of exp candy and i was still about on level with most battles. I think once your at a certain level it slows down for them until you beat a gym

It’s meant to be their accent, I kinda like that line tbh, it gives them character and makes it easier to imagine what their voices might be like

I don't get it, Bede is called Gym Leader Bede after he switches to Fairy Types; but Marinie is still called Pokemon Trainer Marnie.

Turns out team yell are hiding secretly playing a fresh beat from somewhere and everyone says that it was made by the game devs but they have no idea how it got there.

I will forever be mad that Marnie wasn’t a traveling companion of ash’s 🥺
