Angie is a character that is a great example of having wasted potential: she clearly had a thing for Ash, and it would've been cool to see more of her. She could've easily been a more prominent character in the series after this arc given how much of her we get to see in these episodes, and I feel like they could've fleshed her out more if she got to have more appearances in the series after this arc (besides the one episode she did reappear in, that is)

The more you think about it, this arc is the reason Conway has a Dusknoir by the time of the Sinnoh League.

Yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem to be a callback to this arc. Having said that, and did anyone else notice how the way Dusknoir acted in the episode is actually pretty contradictory to it's behavior that is talked about in it's Pokedex entries? I feel that should've been at least mentioned during this review

I think this arc is one of the one's people bring up when not talking about leagues or villains for a reason. It was fun as hell (except for Lumineon), Angie was a great character and I love her chemistry with Ash cause I'm a sucker for 2 people with a competitive spirit (probably why I like Korrina so much). Conway was funny so he gets the simp pass and it was nice seeing what Ash with a Raichu was like (even though I like him better with Pikachu and it was only temporary). Solid arc.

Whenever I watch D&P, this is an arc I always look forward to. Even Team Rocket was great here. EDIT: I also feel like Professor Rowan was remarkably calm about the fact that some of the children under his watch were almost dragged to the afterlife.

@@jamesrobson8308Paul’s Electivire and Torterra learned/used different moves over the course of episodes they appeared in too. Trainers can teach their Pokémon different movesets, and re-teach them old moves later.

Probably my favorite non-villain/league arc in the anime. morpheusshipping is also probably my favorite non-companion ship. I loved all of the episodes, even the lumineon one. WAY better than the Kalos camp arc, even though that one is also good in its own ways.

Ah, I remember the Ghost Girl's episode with Dusknoir freaked me out as a kid. Good times...

Special news, everyone! According to James Robson, Pokémon apparently can't learn any moves by leveling up across four or five badges or so, using TMs, or by any other means! Good old James Robson, always here to educate us on how he's never played a Pokémon game or watched any episodes of the anime before. :D (Okay, jokes aside, James, you do realize Pokémon can LEARN moves to overwrite ones they know, yes?)

He's weird, but weird in a very entertaining way. Definitely one of the more memorable characters in diamond and pearl, and it was pretty cool to see that he had some pretty interesting strategies for his Pokemon when he battled Ash in the league

One of my favorite arcs in the entire series.

Having a new Pokémon for the Summer Camp was so fun! Dawn's Grimer was weirdly memorable to me. And the Dusknoir episode was so cool! The PMD fan in me was geeky.

I love this arc. It has Saturday morning cartoon fun all over it. Angie was a great character. That Ghoul Daze episode had to be one of the Pokémon scariest episodes, it honestly didn’t scare me as a kid but still GEEZ. Great video!

I’m happy to see this fun underrated arc getting some attention, they tried repeating this camp arc in XY but that one was really forgettable.

This could have worked so much better than Sun and moon, if these where the characters and the kinds of plots they could get into

I’m just saying, the episode before”Goul Daze” was NOT boring/filler. It set up the amazing next episode, and left us with many questions about the mysterious encounters, and many more to come. And besides, not every second is going to be all epic or whatever. You have to enjoy the peaceful, and quaint moments.

This arc started when I was very young and was watching less and less of Pokemon, but help me if I don't remember this Grimer! I LOVE how they managed to give it a real chemistry with Dawn! I wish this little guy would have stayed with her

I remembered that Grimer, if only for the fact that it wasn't portrayed in the way you would expect of a Pokemon like it. It would have been a weird addition to Dawn's team, but given it's personality, it would still have been interesting to see her with it on her team, if only because you wouldn't expect her to own a Pokemon like it

Yeah that Grimer was a legend. I like the difference between it and how we think most Grimer act. I would've loved to see it come along with Dawn and compete in contests. She made a big ugly Mamoswine work. How hard could the pile of sludge be.

You'd think that being a coordinator, she would have a hard time really caring for a pokemon canonically described as ugly and stinky, yet she was super enthusiast all the way up. That scene when Grimer, Puplip and her do this "V" thing with their fingers on their eyes was one of the cutest thing

@@insheepsclothing5574 Yeah you're right. Even only considering the moves from Gen 4 we got Mud Bomb, Flamethrower, Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, Hidden Power, Shock Wave, the elenental punches and Explosion. Really good stuff to work with here. Honestly feel bad for the Sludge now. So much potential.

The Lumineon episode was great to all of us 3 Lumineon fans, most screen time it will ever get

I was literally watching those episodes today. Been watching since season 1 and now I'm at the battle dimension season

Makes me wonder if the Dusknoir that saved Conway and everyone in the Ghoul Daze episode, is the same one he ends up catching and using in the Sinnoh League

One of the most underrated arcs of not just the DP saga, but also the entire anime series, if I dare say so myself. It's one of those arcs where everytime takes the time to chill and have fun like the children/teenagers they are/should deserve, not to mention it had so much funny and awesome moments too! I think that's why this arc is a hidden gem that really shines if you take the time to polish it.

Technically not filler it explains why Conway had a Dusknoir in the Sinnoh league.

5:44 oh boy when I first saw that creepy girl she reminded me of Sabrina in the Kanto Region when her younger self had that same creepy look to her. To this day I really don't know where she even came from or what world she was from but yeah I remember just being scared of her when I first saw this episode.
