Presumably, he got the records from his other colleagues and knew they already ruled out all the things they thought it could have been. So he didn't need to test for any of that, because they already had. At that point, he knew that whatever this guy had, it was way out of a normal doctor's ballpark and he needed to see a specialist. Not necessarily the smartest one, just one who had more information than the previous doctors and knew he was way out of his depth here. Most of the time, if something is wrong with you, a normal doctor will be able to fix you just fine. They look for normal stuff, because 95% of the time, it is normal everyday stuff. The other 5% are the cases we see on the show.

Gold in general is just not toxic on its own. You can eat it (I even did once). But gold compounds can sometimes release gold ions, which are very toxic. It's not just not an obvious one. It's a near impossible one. Gold is not toxic in it's metallic form. It's completely edible in fact, and you can even find places that serve it in food. However, some compounds that include gold will instead release gold ions after ingestion, which are very toxic. Since gold is not a toxic heavy metal, they don't test for it.

They did do their research at least. I watch gold refining videos on KZread sometimes. My favorite are by a guy calling his channel "Sreetips". He frequently uses stannous chloride to test his acid solutions for gold and the paper IS stained purple when it's present.

This episode was marvelous
Shoutout to the anonymous doctor that refered him to Dr. House
I love this series and it still really left me up in the air because you really believe that this woman love this man and we never get to understand why she went out of her way to hurt him like this
“Some paranoid theory” the writing is all over the place and goes fast
It always bugged me how the can go, get into someone's house and search it. They are Doctors, not Law Enforcement with a search Warrant

House literally built his team so that they would break into houses. Do you even watch the show
@xoxolovechristielynn

He specifically chooses his team based on people who will look the other way about unethical behavior if the ultimate goal of saving a life can be achieved. They all know it’s illegal and each doctor has their own personal reason for why they follow along anyway. It’s part of the storyline in early seasons. House is notorious for not following rules or laws but he’s so damn good at his job that the other doctors and Cuddy accept it.

House being Holmes, now has to call his version of Lestrade to have him arrest her.
These videos are always so interesting to watch

House has a massive ego, but so does every other doctor there for always trying to prove him wrong when he has a 99% success rate... at his worst!

This one has been uploaded before or maybe I’m thinking of the other channel. Either way great ep. This actress is always great at portraying bad characters.

Haven't watched House in years, so it's hilarious and comforting to come back to "It's the only explanation!" and "It's not lupus!"

But that would be obvious and make the doctors suspicious, by doing it how she did it she was able to apply the poison whether a doctor was in the room or not. If it wasn't for House she'd have most likely gotten away with it, everyone else was incensed by his accusations.
So she was caught golden-handed?

Gold Salts are used for treating Rheumatoid Arthritis, they used to be used as 'quack' treatment for other ailments (TB I think) and it was noted that folk with RA had their arthritis relieved as a 'side effect'.
House ACTUALLY thanked her instead of mocking her!
Just something about Cameron showing shock and disappointment after House was right… I love it when she gets proven wrong.

Agreed. She's much too naive and self-righteous that its fun when she gets proven wrong again and again. Same with Masters.
Maybe this is why in some countries it was mostly women the one who put the gold in altarpieces.
I never knew that Tom Brady was in a House episode.
I swear that same dude is always like "it's LUpiS"
Cameron was like damn he was right she got shook

It’s never Lupus! - George Costanza
This was good. Nice watch.
Why is no one talking about him shotgunning a energy drink? Dr House is a frat bro
If you were thinking that this was going to be the one clip that doesn't mention lupus, you lose.
I remember my shock watching this the first time. 😮
Reminds me of the peggy Carr case, but hers was thallium poisoning. Still, that was a heavy metal.
They're in a hospital - you want to keep her in the room, tell her there's just been an incident, and they've had to quickly close off an area for quarantine. Route to the bathroom goes right through it. They can get her out, but it'll take a little while to arrange safely...

Or, simply call security and tell them to keep her in another location. If she's suspected of poisoning her husband, you generally wouldn't leave her free in his room.
@Silver_Owl
8 ай бұрын
@@stargazer7644 I wasn't too clear, but I think my meaning was that they'd delay her in the room under supervision until security arrives. Basically House wanted to ensure she didn't just leave, which she did, because they couldn't think of a way to stop her. Fake quarantine was what they needed. Though agreed, she needs to be supervised.
House literally flushes out a murderer.
The way House said “go search her”

It most be a poisonous salt of gold. The pure metal is not poisonous, nothing inside your guts can attack gold. In some countries they serve you very expensive food arrangements with very thin gold foil. Same with Copper, the metal is nor poisonous but the salts are lethal.
