My heart breaks for that father that lost both his sons. I lost my oldest son in 2019 at 23 years old. I’ll never be the same. This drug must be stopped. Talk to your children. Please.

I lost my two boys ages 7 and 9 to a drunk Mexican. He got deported and the police said 11 days later he snuck back into the USA again. Crazy how we allow murderers to continue and bury the innocent.

I was an addict during the 70s. I used drugs to escape the trauma of a horrific childhood. But in 1980 I became sober and have been that way ever since. Please do not place all addicts into a certain category because that’s not how it works. I do admire those who were able to say no. Good work.

Dude said a mouthful. "why aren't we screaming?" As a recovering drug addict I sympathize with people fighting these demons. The saddest part is the kids man. Some of them die from fentanyl thinking it was pain pills or cocaine or something else. I remember when the M 30 Roxies were all legit. Now Mallinckrodt is bankrupt or something no longer making these pills but the streets are full of the fake ones. The cartels are making huge sums of money I agree. However, what is wrong with our society when so many of our citizens have the need for drugs. Nobody forces someone to consume drugs. They know the risks but still dice with death. Society needs a total rethink. Drugs are here and we need to accept that. Legalisation and controlled use may be the only answer. By making drug use illegal only benefit the cartels and other crime networks. Why not legalise and receive tax dollars instead of enriching the drug barons.

I was prescribed percocet after a surgery and one time being tired and sleepy inadvertently took double the dose. I was such a strange feeling, I wouldn't describe it as a high or euphoria but rather a feeling of almost indescribable well-being. For a long while I thought about that feeling and I started to think about figuring out a way to have it again.... But after watching countless video's like this describing the horrors of drug use I know it's just a lie, only an empty and temporary high. Using could never really make me happy, it's just a fake facade of happiness. Now that I am aware of how drugs are becoming more contaminated and toxic it's not something I want to touch.

Thank you. This was so educational, I'm in Australia and we have a terrible problem over here as well. I watch another youtube channel as well called 'The Life Boat' that really focuses on educating people on drugs, addiction and living happily in sobriety. They have had a lot of great shows lately talking about things similar to this. They have a live stream at 5pm (USA Pacific Time) everyday except Wed and Thurs and a live chat. The family system in America is broken. People come to funeral and talk about how good the dead person was. But when the person was alive they are not extending a hand to uplift. Not everyone is this way. But many are. Families should uplift each other especially in hard times I guess.

Alot of the addicted got addicted by the same opioids the doctors prescribed them. When the doctor says "No more refills." Meanwhile the patient has become dependable on the same pills he was prescribed. Now he is told he needs to go cold turkey. Ask yourself "Does that make sense?" Legally the doctor got him hooked on an opioid to help severe pain. When they say no more refills, the patient can still be in alot of pain, maybe not. The fact that we are prosecuting people for using is absurd. Don't lock people up for using drugs, they need help. Locking users up dosent help, but these people need treatment and therapy, maybe an unadictive substance that can help the person wing off the drug. Drug users are going to get locked up and repeat. What does that tell you, our justice system needs change and major change.

A neighbor of ours 15 year old son (maybe 120 lbs, super bright but troubled)was rescued by 3 doses of Narcan after he ODed on Fentanyl early 2021…. Thank goodness his parents found him in time, and they could immediately administer the first dose. They knew he had drug problems, had sent him to inclusive school/treatment centers, but with Covid-19, the programs closed and he returned to the same place same friends that started him on this frightening path. I’m betting that his story is being repeated all over the US, with many lives lost. Thankful that he was rescued, worried that the pattern might repeat. I now carry Narcon at all times, in case anyone else’s child (young or old, rich or poor, whatever ethnicity, religion, gender etc) falls into the death grips of this noxious poison

@@RedLineShortFilms yes!! As a person who has done fentanyl hundreds of times it’s not even fun. Fentanyl is so strong yes, but for someone with a tolerance it’s not that risky. However, fentanyl is less euphoric than almost all other less potent opiates. So it’s actually funner to do the less potent ones. I live in Seattle and have basically unlimited access to opiates but the price of fentanyl makes it the only option for most users. To get high off fentanyl it costs me about $20 but to get high off real pills it would cost me about $200. If we legalized drugs we could end the opiate pandemic almost overnight. It’s insane that people don’t agree about legalizing drugs and still look at drug users as weak willed. The science says otherwise. Look at the failure of the war on drugs.

It's not only the drug that kills the suicidal thoughts and feelings that a person gets with these things that can last for years after addiction has stopped ! Any parent that truly loves their child must educate them that any drugs destroy everything in their world ! But the parents need to be educated before hand and lots don't ever think it's going to happen to their little angel ! And when they find out that there kid is going down the wrong path they disown and tar them with a brush and frighten them off from telling the truth and lots more happens when you kick a dog when he is down! You can't wrap them in cotton wool but we can explain the truth to them but it needs to be done the right way ! I always remember my social studies teacher telling us how bad needles and heroin was at high school it shocked me to hear that and to this day I have never used a needle but got sucked into everything else ! But these days it's so easy to get sucked into the gutter with so many unknowns around ! There is no boundry gate or certain types of people that you have to watch out for so it's hard to isolate from ! I woke up one day and relized what had happened to me and now I'm disappointed that I was so easily led but I also learnt to say no but it took so many years that is why it is worse than a pandemic and it's never discussed properly !most people will not get a second chance at life ! It's so nice to wake up without a hangover or the need to be dependent on something that will kill you ! And to be able to look someone in the eyes again is a good feeling ! Don't let your guard down and don't ever forget to much of a good thing is not a good thing ! Addiction is real and it only takes one try and it will be too late ! Experimenting even is not an option !even if it's free that is how they hook U into it !

Other countries are given hundreds of millions as payoffs to officials so that US corporate elites, DOD/CIA can exploit the country and its resources. Millions go to "private" US military corporations yearly for guarding borders of foreign countries too. I agree with you about professionals. My parents didn’t anticipate crack and meth. Drugs were a pretty innocent experience, to a lot of old hippies. I grew up in the meth/heroin era, after seeing adults struggling with crack. Drugs stayed a lot the same through my young adulthood. It was in the streets, and at least you knew what you were getting into. Doctors prescribing opiates en masse certainly caught the public off guard. I was prescribed OxyContin, and told it was formulated to avoid the risks of addiction that other pills had. I don’t know how many doctors were aware (though some have admitted to it), but the fraud was by Purdue, Insys, and other corporations, and it’s all been adjudicated and documented. The breach of public trust created the demand for opiates in the streets that fentanyl was the answer to. For practitioners to act shocked by fentanyl is out of touch, at this point. Fentanyl has shocked the public out of complacency, and made us expect more, and worse, to come. We’ve had tranq, benzo dope, flakka, and now ISO, as the media has called it, but it’s selling under many names. Fentanyl is 50 times stronger than morphine. ISO is 20-100 times stronger than fentanyl. As soon as a substance is recognized and controlled, they charge the formula. Prohibition and legislation, in general, can’t stop this. We need a massive educational and health and human service effort. It has worked for many countries, and some localities, who’ve tried it (like the King County PD project.

I’m sorry to break the news, that any addict knows, but that wasn’t the brothers’ first time using opioids. Surely that notion helps the parents cope. In reality it’s far more likely that the brothers initially used genuine pharmaceutical opioids prior to buying street drugs from a dealer with fentanyl citrate laced counterfeit tablets. Buying illicit drugs on the street is almost always a last resort for pill users. Especially since the dealer they bought from was clearly untrustworthy, meaning they likely didn’t know them well, and the dealer didn’t care about the brothers enough to inform them about the product.

Please have compassion for those struggling with drug and alcohol abuse. Alot of it stems from trauma undealt with from childhood or any trauma really. It obviously varies from person to person. As as a man who has almost 14 years abuse free, I know people can get the help, people can change and people can heal. Yes the individual has to want it before change can start but being supportive of those individuals is perhaps one of the greatest blessings one could hope for. Many are so bruised and broken and don't know where to go or what to do but there are options, sometimes they just need to know someone cares, help them make the calls, drive them to detox centers etc...sometimes it takes tough love and those who have never struggled with alcohol or drug abuse may never know why it happens and that is ok but never turn a blind eye if possible to do anything if you can. There is no cure but there is hope, that's something most are holding on to....

@Bearlyontime I just watched this heartbreaking video and totally agree with you in regard to the unresolved childhood trauma, or other types, which I've mentioned on similar videos, especially when there's a lot of judgemental comments! Mind you, some people respond by stating that they were abused as well, yet didn't take drugs, or have done anything else wrong. As you probably know, it can depend on various factors and some children had at least one adult who cared about them, whereas others had none at all. It seems like something did happen to the critical people's empathy though. I used to drink a lot etc as a way of coping, then ended up in a much worse state after attending AA and NA meetings, due to the total lack of understanding about emerging traumatic memories, not to mention pain, so I stay away nowadays. ❤
