RIP Bonnie Pointer (Pointer Sisters)
Bonnie Pointer, who became famous as a member of the Pointer Sisters, has died at age 69. A representative said the cause of death was cardiac arrest.
“It is with great sadness that I have to announce to the fans of the Pointer Sisters that my sister Bonnie died this morning,” said Anita Pointer of her sister, Patricia, aka Bonnie. “Our family is devastated. On behalf of my siblings and I and the entire Pointer family, we ask for your prayers at this time.”
Bonnie was one of the founding members of the group and left in the mid-1970s to pursue a solo career.
“Bonnie was my best friend and we talked every day,” Anita said in a statement. “We never had a fight in our life. I already miss her and I will see her again one day.”
The family’s youngest sister, June, died in 2006. A few months ago, Bonnie and Anita released a tribute song for June, “Feels Like June.”
A spokesperson said it was Bonnie’s final recording.

"The Sisters" are underrated in terms of their vocal ability to harmonize their voices into a blend of one sounding voice. They are capable of singing any genres as that was proven time and time again, by their grammy's..remained relevant until just before early 2000's in terms of hits...Why they're not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a reason why I stopped believing in that particular accolade. Their talent was matchless as a quartet or trio and an induction while all 4 were living would've put the icing on the cake and forever sealed their place in history!! Period. RIP June and Bonnie 💔🥀💔🥀

So much talent in one iconic video, my favorite was always Ruth with her song "Automatic" RIP Anita, June and Bonnie girls who deserve their place in the rock hall.😢❤

When I first heard this recording by the Pointer Sisters I stopped everything and said "Who is that!?" Believe it or not it was on pop radio stations when it came out, and it was hot. Mind you, at that time other pop singers were doing jazz: Bette Midler, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," Barry Manilow with several songs, and perhaps most famous of all, Van Morrison's "Moondance." But the Pointer Sisters were the only vocalists out there who could sing such close harmonies live and gain such prominence in pop music; even the great Manhattan Transfer could not gather such a large audience as the Pointer Sisters, who from this straight ahead jazz song went on to the highest levels of pop success. This is a very good live performance, but the audio is unclear. Check out the studio version for the full harmonic jazz chord experience.

This was slower because they were doing a rehearsal before a show. It's obvious.... Ya need to pace yourself before actually doing the performance. "and when he got to cookin, everybody started lookin ".....
Subsequent dental work did wonders for June's looks.
