I really hope a mid tier set of gear ends up with more defence overall with the expected aura nerfs. Don't make it so you have to have triple t1 defence stats for this to equal out or outshine previous defences 🙏

That is all they have ever done though? Every single league I have to work just a little harder to have exactly what I just had 3 months ago. It's like if every 3 months you got a pay cut at work. That's what this game feels like now, and frankly i'm sick to fuck of it and ahve been since 3.15

I mean...a discipline at level 20 gives 217 ES. Even if it gets chunked in half (which would be spiteful), that flat 100 ES should be easy to make up with the new tiers of gear. ES *definitely* seems like the huge winner here. Brass Dome is also going to be getting a gigabuff, and that's fairly affordable, all things considered.

Determination nerfed ? I have 6 portals man

In typical fashion - they are removing flat bonus from gems (easy to get) and moving it to items with high end rolls (not easy to get). This is a clear nerf to player power for the 99% and a clear buff to player power for the 1%. Which camp you sit in dictates whether good or bad.

Depending on the bases we might get more defence overall, but armor stacker are most likely nerfed as they scaled aura effect to get those massive numbers

I planned to start as trickster, and now with new tier of Eva/ES base - i kinda pogged even more (For those who dont play as Trickster - Eva/ES base is best in slot for Trickster, cause of Ascendancy "Escape Artist" that gives +1 base ES for every 6 Evasion on Body armour, which in terms of ES - makes Eva ES base have highest ES, even higher then ES base itself) Hope same goes for all items, including Helmets

Making BaseTypes chase items again will be amazing. PoE has become too easy to brute force content with broken builds and trade. Increasing the difficulty of content and the scarcity of gear required to do that content is a good start. I want T10/T11 to be the rush and T12-T16 to be the grind like the old days.

They need to bring unique defences up quite a few notches to compete because body armours like Shav's, Kaom's and Carcass Jack are virtually dead items outside of maybe SSF or new players without much money. Take Shav's for example, 377 ES and chaos not penetrating energy shield versus a 700 ES rare body armour on a CI character with two eldritch implicits and half decent suffixes etc... come on now

Would love to see the addition of some other defensive auras like a suppress and ward. I think it would add to more build variety and options.

I'm tentatively cool with it, but determination offered so much flat that time will tell if the quality %more shores it up

As long as i can farm the new bases in t16 maps i am fine with it. Skipped last league. No idea what t17's are but sounded to me like they are not just another tier that you can roll your prefered mods on, but something else much more difficult -.- Other than that, if the new "system" makes homebrew-rares stronger, i am down with it, since i casually craft all my gear regardless of trade prices, just to have rolled the dice...So new better bases, yes plz...

i just wished that they deleted determination from the game and rework how armour works. Armour is so fucking outdated at this point that need to be remove in the current system.

I wonder if theyre adding in new bases is because theres now too many uniques that share similar bases so they need to expand it abit but also giving more values to crafting and rare gear.

Shifting the benefits on Grace/ Determination onto gear where it belongs, making those defensive rolls more meaningful is honestly a great change. If Determination/ Grace feel less "required" and allowing other auras to stand out as more immediately viable choices, I'm all for it.

I remember Kripparian having this take with someone at GGG about ruthless and how a char invested in armor passive having less armor than someone with determination aura. Tbh, even if this is a nerf, feels justified.

Looks like they are pulling it off the aura and putting on gear. And leaving the more multi on aura makes it more useful for characters that have invested in it. I think armor stacking is gonna be insane this league

Maaaybe but I don't believe so :( the character in the vid was running three 50% auras, a 35% aura and Clarity and low life. I'll nerd out over the maths later but pretty sure it's just LL and lots of reservation efficiency

It's already hard to get perfectly rolled gear tho... So maybe I'm not understanding, but seems like you now need tier one mods even more

I bet 2+ more levels of armor and weap, and defensive aura nerfs across the board...of course you want tthe highest number D but defensive auras were becoming too dominant in the meta math.

Sirgog has already mentioned this and no number works for reservations to get to the % in video.

I foresee a lot of powercreep

we are getting these new bases but most of the people use uniq items there.

It might be, you can see it's only costing 26.04% on the video but I guess it all depends on how much res efficiency that char has. Feels like 35% is more likely IMO tho

5:00 Its like 1335 ES with T0 base with perfect triple prefix + 15% defense enchant. I kinda dislike this power creep, they nerf one thing then buff it in a different way, if they wanted ES to be higher, increase the damn rolls, dont add new bases ffs.
