Just recently started stringing & utilized the TW video on YT from 2013 (by Andy) prior thereto & was extremely useful to me (as I own a NEOS 1000) & one of the best instructional videos I've seen on how to string a tennis racket. I've referred back to it several times already for reference so thanks much to TW for the great instructional video!

Thanks for the great video! Troy and Jaye, may I ask which exactly crank machines you have at home and why? I am thinking about buying my first machine and will probably get a crank machine, and I'm curious to know which machines you prefer to use based on your experience.

I have the Prince NEOS 1000: www.tennis-warehouse.com/Prince_NEOS_1000_Stringing_Machine/descpageTM-NEOS.html. As far as crank machines go it is a very durable, and reliable machine. That said, of the machines that we sell, these are some other options to consider at various price points: www.tennis-warehouse.com/Tourna_350-CS_Stringing_Machine/descpageUNIQUE-TCSDS.html, and www.tennis-warehouse.com/Gamma_Progression_ST_II_Stringing_Machine_/descpageGAMMA-STII.html, and www.tennis-warehouse.com/Alpha_Revo_4000_Stringing_Machine/descpageALPHA-REVO.html. Do you have any information about the new Head racquets line called "Boom" (apparently it is replacing the Instinct line...) ?

Nothing will give you the exact tension of the string bed. There are electronic tension meters like the ERT, but it’s not going to be exact. I use it mainly to make sure I’m stringing consist and you can monitor tension loss over time.

My stringer says that the tension after will never be the same as the tension that the machine is set for. Is that BS?

Strings lose tension immediately after being pulled. Also "measured tension" and "reference tension" (the number on the machine) are not the same thing. Each string would measure slightly different from each other even if they were pulled at the same reference tension due to the difference in length of each string.

@@lesslobiso4159 If I ask the stringer ,say 48 pounds main and crosses , when I measure with Stringmeter by Tourna I read 40 and 35. What should I do?
