PODCAST Episode 9 - June

Ойын-сауық

I started a podcast called "Together We Rise" back in 2020 and made a few episodes . I recently found a TON of recordings in my drafts folder so here are some of them mashed together. It’s all a bit of a jumble but I have loved listening back. The show notes can be found on my blog below with photos for clarification etc.
(I will be publishing some of the rest of the recordings as well as putting the old episodes on here too. They are already on Spotify by the way open.spotify.com/show/52nrJCQ...)
This episode is full of songs and memories from back in June 2020, though little has changed…folk songs are eternal and cyclical as are plants and Mother Nature. I’m still gadding about with the kids looking at plants though they’re not so interested anymore!
(the majority of the podcast was recorded back in 2020 - only the very first intro is from 2024)
Here are a few notes I made to go with the podcast

I missed out the full version of the song for some reason!
Here is a link to it

Turns out this all needs "decolonising" according to a £1.5m taxpayer-funded study unearthed this week. We need these songs more than ever. Thank you so much for helping to keep them alive.

Yea I heard about that nonsense! So disrespectful to our indigenous culture!

@@EatBakeSing I always get people telling me, "what indigenous people / culture! You are all mixed". If that were true we would look like mongrels and have mongrel traits and behaviour. There are many good reasons why we still have our own genetic identity etc.

Yes I definitely will. It just takes SO LONG to go through all the recordings (to make sure I’ve not said anything that could get me into trouble for example !) and to write up accompanying notes 😊

@@EatBakeSing Yep probably have to remove all positive references to White people to avoid the video being pulled lol. I really enjoyed your podcast, really flew by and was very relaxing and interesting.
