Yes, the covox involved CPU to playback.

I wonder if the Digispeech Portable Sound Plus has the same lag? It claims to emulate an entire sound blaster over parallel.

@@kingpazn It has a few games (I remember seeing keen4, doom, wolf3d, tyrian and raptor), although I quickly nuked the cf card and reinstall everything, because I don't like the bloat that comes with it.
