What a gorgeous settlement! Chapin is clearly very passionate about what he's designed, and I'm all for it. Having more of these lively, pretty, very human-oriented communities in the world is something that I and so many others strongly think we need.

This is a life that makes sense to me. I’ve been looking for it all my life. I hope to see more of these in the future and maybe live in one too!

Back in the 60's there was an idea called "cluster homes". I believe one community was built in San Jose, California. I'm not certain how many clusters were built. As I recall there were 6 homes in a cluster built in a hexagon property. I don't remember how big the homes were, but that seemed like a good idea to me. The fronts of the homes faced a common area - I don't recall the size of the common areas and the back of the homes were for private yards. The layout created enough room for each house to be angled away from and a distance from the other, providing privacy. I was very interested in this concept, but never heard what happened. The homes were sold in a condo/PUD contract, so it was up to the owners to take care of the property. Thank you for this video. I think this is perfect to develop good communities.

What an amazing idea! Enjoyed listening to the explanation and viewing the neighborhood. They are so beautiful and well manicured. We need a sense of community in our country these days. Thank you.

Is this also located in Nevada in the mountains? I love that area but haven’t kept up. I’ve lived my whole life, 78 yrs, in CA.

I find this whole concept enchanting..........but in these days of such political polarization (I'm writing in Jan. 2020), I begin to have doubts. Maybe just keep one's mouth closed about politics? I have family members who don't talk to me anymore because of politics. This would be hard to endure in a close neighborhood. But OH!!! this neighborhood is seductively charming. Such beauty, inside and out.

Not with that attitude lol. There's a lot more to life to politics.

Only Democrats disown family over politics. It's an epidemic and they have been socially engineered to react that way. Strange phenomenon.

@@babymoon5282 I'm hoping that as more and more truth comes out my MSM brainwashed kids (who are in their 50's) will wake up. Going to be tough for them to admit that Mom and Dad were right.
