png you beat us Fijians already. Fiji needs to have special forces because there are pirates roaming around the seas. we used to have special forces called the Fijian gorilla commandos in 20th century but not any more after the 90's. you guys are the first ever independent pacific islander nation to have a special forces other than other pacific island nations. well done this is a good start and other nations such as Fiji would be interested and might start their own special forces. png lead the way!!!!

Fiji had a British SAS Inspired Unit called CRW - which after over a decade of service was disbanded in early 2000s. So Fiji had the first modern Special Ops unit amongst Pacific Countries.

@@sauljahboi5965 Yep. The CRW was actually established by a Fijian who was ex-SAS. However, they got disbanded when they sided with the rebels during Fiji's 2000 coup and attempted to assasinate the then Commander, and current Prime Minister Bainimarama. I believe after that the closest thing to a SF unit Fiji had was the Police Mobile Unit, a sort of SWAT unit, but the army disarmed them.

PNG is one of the deadliest military in the Pacific island in early 1990s but peace agreement with Australia in 1989 to make PNG military to be less in power and will be under Australian full guidelines, that's why, PNG deadliest military never showed off. This is not new, they saw there warriors skills

They're always undermined. But these guys are the real deal. It was soldiers (5 of them) from this unit that rescued two Indonesian nationals held by OPM fighters after negotiations failed. Just imagine how PNG will be if this unit doubles or triples in size, including the army as a whole.

The normal DF recruit training in PNG is grueling enough as it is. I can only imagine what Special Forces have to endure for the training process in PNG.

some people in this comment section are stupid. Isis can be anywhere not just in the Philippines. if Isis rises up in png and png had not have started to have a special forces. the Philippines, Indonesians have no authority to enter png and deal with Isis. That is why they started up a special forces. they also said that NZ and Australia would help them with this organization that means vehicles, helicopters and air support from Australia and new Zealand.also it is more like that these guys would get trained by the Australian and new Zealand sas which is a big up for png.

these guys have just started up so it takes alot of time. this is a country that has never had special forces. i think within 2 to 5 years they would be good to go.

Good Job PNGDF... I have been obsessed with Call of duty games which increased my interest to do a lot of research in military operations. I have just one objection however on how our boys "stormed" in. Say for instance, there was C-4 placed in the interior of the building: The first guy entering would set it off thus killing those who follow closely behind. ‘conventional wisdom’ regarding plastic explosives is that a lump of C-4 the size of a potato will destroy an ‘average’ house (First off, C-4 comes in 1.25 pound blocks. For most purposes, 1 block is sufficient for cutting common sized I-beams if you use a ribbon charge. Using two blocks, you can shatter a concrete pillar with a counter-force charge)

For that I salut🙏🙏. Just one heads. Please your methods of entry are predictable and sloppy. Go in slow steady and clear out your targets.

Fiji is the first Pacific Nation to have it's special forces...way back in the 20's and the world war 2 in the Pacific, Fiji have the special forces called the ' Fiji gorillas commandos' ..but after the world wars..was disengaged.. later, in the 90's..Fiji have another special forces, named the 'Counter Revolution Warfare'(CRW)..but was disbanded after the coup in the year 2000...Fiji need to have another vibrant and powerful special elite forces we used to have or take it to another level...it's time Fiji..for the security of the region and the safety of it's operation internationally...And Fiji can still proudly provide that and always...but bravo png..

The title is misleading PNG has no Special Forces but the men choosen for the security of the Apec event were only formed for that particular event only. After the Apec summit has finished then those chosen for the event would be sent back to their original units. The task team seen here are a mixture of both police and military officers. No offense to anyone in PNG but the title of this video was the only problem I had issues with. Thank you PNG for hosting the APEC summit.
