This is an important project for our national security as well as a good economical project. India aims to be and is destined to be a superpower and this will only come at the cost of nature. Other smaller countries can be much more stricter but if India does it, we will NEVER get better and will always be poor because the other superpowers will not let India rise easily just because we are good to earth. It's sad but it's a necessary evil.

I can understand your soft corner for the lobby from your commercial interests however please see the project through the prism of what's happening in our neighborhood, i.e. If you look around in the neighborhood countries in the region have moved ahead on the industrialization while we are far behind despite our fantastic geography which offers great Vantage. There is. But they don't have to do that. They just need to reduce the amt of land going to be used. They want 130+ sqkm of forest cleared. If the reduce it to less than 100, ( which they can, but stubborn mod1y don't want to ) the project is not going to do a lot of damage.
