    In the enroute landing calculation, the reason reverse thrust doesn't help is because the Autobrake values set a rate of deceleration and not just brake force. When using AB3 + reverse thrust, you're reducing the load on the brakes, as reverse thrust helps you to achieve the desired deceleration level in your current AB configuration. But yes, you would either need less weight, AB max or manual braking to land on that rwy.

    Thx for detailed information on the various options. The de-rate option isn’t straightforward at present compared the FMC hopefully it be tidied up.

    I noticed some discrepancies with VPT, using the exact same parameters, and the correct aircraft profile. Maybe all these different tools don’t use the same set of data? Though I think this tool is very welcome, I am just disappointed there is no intersection setting.

    Yeah, asked me the same. This should definitely be in, with the possibility to select different runway entry intersections. The EFB is very basic for the long time they took, quite the disapointment imho…

    Why on the calculations (on the right), for landing, weight is visible 72.8, instead of 65 which you entered on the left? Is this error? Or it really takes only airplane weight instead of entered one?

    In the landing enroute tab, the weight was still shown as 72823 kg, while you entered 65000 kg, so I wonder if the calculation was correct then. :)

    Thank you, I am learning a lot... Several times you have predicted the landing weight in order to revise your calculations. You just know those numbers. How should a novice go about figuring that out - what is the step by step procedure?

    Easiest way to do that is Simbrief - the OPF gives you estimated landing weight

    Hello, thank you very much for the video. I have a question about the Reverse config column. I understand it like this: Do you mind if I say something wrong? If the runway is dry, we have to and the All OP is not taken into account, only if it is wet, then we have to activate the All OP just like you did, right?

    In Landing Enroute Calculation, why does it still shows 72.823kg and not the 65000kg you have entered? I mean after the calculation in the upper right corner.

    I don't know if it's a stupid question. If you do the calculations for landing and you are overweight because you haven't burned as much fuel as you had planned and you overrun the runway, do you do circling to burn off a little and lose weight or that is impossible to happen? Thanks for the videos, I learn a lot

    Moin Emmanuel. Weißt du, ob der Effekt einer nassen, gefrorenen usw. Piste im MSFS überhaupt simuliert wird? Bisher hatte ich nicht das Gefühl, dass der Bremsweg bei nasser Piste länger ist, als bei Trockenheit. Ist ein rein subjektives Gefühl, wissen tue ich es nicht. Daher die Frage. Danke!

    Something that PMDG didn't consider : V-speed at landing. It's incorrect and doesn't match with Vref and Vapp. TOPCAT can do it and I stay with until PMDG fix it.

    and yet pmdg software is licensed from Boeing?? Is it the same with TOPCAT??? Hey, since this EFB is the first ever on any platform that can actually run 3rd party apps, maybe someone can then code TOPCAT to run inside the EFB???

    If there is some way to tilt the tablet so it's flat, it would be ideal to hold meal trays in the cockpit. Much more useful this way than PMDG's current rendition of the Performance Tool. I pray Emi doesn't let PMDG drag him down into the abyss with them - he genuinely seems like a nice guy with good intentions. The venerable 'Topcat' payware takeoff and landing performance tool for Prepar3D is still the gold standard for these calculations. PMDG has managed to somehow water-down the MSFS2020 tablet performance calculator from that of the Prepar3D PMDG 737 version, the latter of which was actually quite good. PMDG always seems to go one step forward and two steps back these days. Sad. So unfair.

    @@FTStratLPYou do realize they had issues with the framework in which the EFB is coded and running??? That took this long. All devs tend to have longer release dates for a new piece of software. Then, if you actually know them, you will know for example, that they always update their software to ensure realism. To think addons to the EFB will take years seems more than either click-bait or trolling or as you state - "Ridiculous"

    something is not working for me...when I enter an ICAO ID in the performance tool, the other fields (Airport Name, elev) is not going to be filled automatically and I can not select any RWY (it says you need to fill all fields) it looks like no ICAO code will be accepted bei the EFB, or do I need to have a FPL or simbrief plan loaded before? I wanted to try the app without any flightplan.

    Use what you expect to use for the actual takeoff. If it gets limiting you can do some optimization, but if you're in a snowstorm for example there's no use calculating without anti ice.

    I'd assume you'd be able to do so by changing the "Runway Length" to the intersection length stated in the carts.

    Hello! Isn't it better for pilots at takeoff to have headwind? You said in the video that they need the least headwind or the greatest tailwind component which confused me. Or is it true for variable winds only?

    Hi, I said you need to *calculate your performance* with the least favorable wind, aka the greatest tailwind, I didn't say that you should actually aim for that wind for your actual takeoff. Your calculation should be as conservative as possible in order to get the best safety margin. If the actual wind on takeoff is better, nice.

    i use simbrief.- Right, when i use simbrief and having imported the flightplan/weight and then going to tablet pressing load from plane, there are two different ZFW numbers. either if i use import from ofp or plane. the number is different. that comfuses me what to do or use

    Take a look at the Simbrief again. All the way to the left is the legend. It shows Estimated and Maximum. You need to use Estimated.

    Is the SFP version being simulated? I was trying to calculate the performance at SBRJ with a 1323m length. The 738 SFP can operate full pax at this airport but the UFT does not allow takeoff. The indicated MTOW is 2 - 3 tons lower than the actual perfomance sheets.

    @@reticentsimmer well acceleration height is the height you accelerate and retract flaps so I assume MFRA is the same except its altitude not height

    Hey Tom, I don't think Accel Height is the flap retraction height. I just did a flight from Cork to Birmingham (FD2Sim was there too) but I got a 3,000 ft. Accel Height. So I set the minimums at 2500 ft. (subtracting Cork's airfield elevation of approx. 500 ft.) Whereas, FD2Sim got a MFRA of 1,500 ft from his boeing OPT (just saw his stream).

    VREF+5 always unless headwind is more than 10 knots than add half the headwind. This isn't an Airbus

    @@piotrkuler683 I think this is not what he asks... I think the question was why calculation on the right, was different than entered weight. Look at 26:43 (arond). He Emi entered 65t on the left, while on the right, where all calculations are, there is still 72.8t

    one thing I can not really comprehend; why does PMDG always get hated on for taking so long to release the efb for example, always has people complaining when the only developers with similar quality, Fenix, also constantly miss all their own set deadlines, I do not get it. I appreciate both developers and understand that things take time and issues basically always occure. But why is it that people only go hard on PMDG, that is at leat my observation.

    I dont know what you are talking about but it for sure cant be about fenix. 2 weeks? V2 probably is not coming even in november and of course the 319/321 will also delay *unexpectedly* plus everybody complains how the efb from pmdg takes so long but fenix takes 2 years to model the alternative wingtips. I amhating neither pmdg nor fenix, i just give it some perspective which most seem to lack severely@@FTStratLP

    I acctualy like this EFB over the Fenix. It is bigger so I do not have to zoom in as much as I need with the Fenix. Furthermore everything you need is in one app. Instead of opening new apps all the time just two apps that do the job. I do not get all these complains about ground handling via the EFB what is the effort to do this on the fms.
