Most people do not know the circumstances that gave J&K special status undet article 370, like many other princely states then in India which could not create their own constituent Assembly to review the agreement - needed to accede to Republic of India. When Sheikh Abdula started demanding more under article 370, he was house arrested for few years before he conceded his demand to Govt. Of India...gradually thereafter, govt. of India gradually started taking away clauses under article 370 ...by the time Modi took rains, article 370 was almost toothless...Though Modi to his nature and BJP to its RSS ideology boasted having removed article 370. The same BJP, a national political party, today, running away from contesting election in J & K asking people in the state to vote for any national party other than Congress, NC. The journalists should ask modi why he and his party not contesting....and what development J & K vis-a-vis India had seen ever since article 370 removed.
