It' kinda funny because the book "do androids dream of electric sheep?" was inspired by Astro Boy. The book was turned into blade runner the movie. Now Pluto is the combination of both.

I was looking for this information! Do you have any sources? Something that got my attention is that in both a war fought by robots for different human factions is what makes them question their relationship to us and themselves

I just finished the Anime Pluto yesterday , and I argue that it is a beautiful and thought provoking series that is still relevant with it's themes and messages now in 2023. I think having Pluto come out in this era was really good timing with everything going on in the world right now . I love both Pluto and Blade Runner. Huge fan.

Such a tight story, curious to see how it translates across the anime episodes

For me idea of presenting dark, griddy, existential story in setting of ASTRO BOY works greatly. Partly because of following reason but for me it works more same way why INJUSTICE or DARK KNIGHT return comics worked so well. We all know characters of Batman and Superman, so learning that different situation can change iconic character truly works. Same with ASTRO BOY

Great f•king review! Pluto is one of the best adaptations of a legacy story. Your review is one of the best of Pluto. It really was the best adaptation and modernization of a great story. The Bladerunner confluence was perfect. Keep up the great work!

Brilliant video

I went in blind with this one. I’ve been desperately trying to find a deeply thought-provoking and more thematically weighted anime to watch since that’s what i was introduced to by my cousin. I’m just starting out my anime journey at this point. I found some animes that just felt dull, but I gave this one a watch since Netflix said it’s based on Astro boy, and I absolutely loved the 2007 movie as a kid. So I thought ok, just one episode. Ended up watching the whole thing in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough of all the emotionally charged stories that were being introduced then developed in the first few episodes. Also, it’s convenient that this anime made the audience question not just every real life issue you mentioned in the video, but also relevantly raised questions about AI, or at least a future possibility of it. This made my day and I’m so excited to let the series marinate then rewatch it when the time is right to pick up on the many things I probably missed. This is definitely the type of content I love watching above all else, and I would love any recommendations from anyone who reads this, especially if you are into this style of story telling and thematic exploration.
