Plutarch: On the Control of Anger (Audiobook, Part 1)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

The meditative practice of philosophers since Plato was Theoria, a kind of universal contemplation on the Forms through the faculty of directed attention, which was frequently even referred to as "soul medicine".
The therapy of passions was central to Platonic influenced esoteric currents such as Hermeticism and Gnosticism, where our affects are often personified as demons, inhabiting the body. By practicing this "soul medicine", and gaining command over the demons that rule our body, we can overcome them, and lead better, more fulfilling lives.
Plutarch's Moralia should be essential reading for anyone embarking on an esoteric practice or study, and I give extracts from his work here, recorded in audio format for easy listening.

Even though this is an "audio reading" it was originally the written word and I think it was so beautifully written as was much from that period. 🐺
