Plunge Router Base
Ғылым және технология
As it is not easy to find in the market Plunge Holders for 43mm Euro Neck Routers, I decided to build my own. It is designed for using with Routers up to 80mm diameter, for bigger routers, you will need to modify the plans.

I just finished building the handrail on my deck kzread.infoUgkxfQ5_mgwq6PcudJvAH25t-I4D-3cTPz4z and used this great little router to clean up the top rail before the final sanding and stain. It was light weight but packed lots of power. Either size battery didn't seem to make it top heavy and I'm a 64 yr old women so I really appreciated how easy it was to use...................... CORDLESS only way to go !!
You are the best woodworker I have ever watched on youtube and your tools are amazing the best part is you make them from wood god bless you have been a great inspiration to me thank you.
That was simply excellent. Why? Inspiring, well edited, well shot, thoughtfully told story.

You are a creative and resourceful craftsman! I really like the faux bandsaw you made with an upside down jigsaw ... Brilliant! I would like to build a similar jig for mine.
That is a beautiful piece of work.

Best DIY Plunge Router Base.
I don't have a lathe, and i've been trying to figure out how to make 6" wood circles, i love the center pivot against a stationary sander :)
Well done. I did a similar project, but I used 2 x 20mm pieces of wood (base and router holder) with 4 threaded rods and 16 nuts, mine works, but a bit time consuming to adjust the height. Yours look very nice.

Looks fantastic, the only change I would make would be to keep one side of the router base flat in part so that you can run it against a straight edge for dadoes etc. Although I wouldn't even attempted this in the first place, it's impressive!
@Paoson_Woodworking

as the base is perfectly circular, it could be used to make dadoes! I am recording a new demonstration video, thank you so much!

Man I love your videos. I've watched all of them. I'd like to see if you would consider making a homemade drill press. I think you call it a column drill. I know you have the elaborate 3D router that you can use as a drill press but I'd like to see you make a very simple drill press that uses a common hand drill that's removable. Thanks!

Por
si fueras tan amable de mandarme las medidas, se lo agradeceria mucho porque quiero hacerme uno igual. gracias anticipadas.
At 8:05, I thought you are routing the in the wrong direction, unless your router is spinning in a different direction than routers that I'm used to. What you did is called climb routing, and it's not very safe, unless you're doing a very thin final pass to clean up burn marks (which, I saw was left by your pass). I also noticed that "plunge" mechanism sticks and hesitates (around 7:56). There is a reason manufacturers use metal rods and bearings, wooden tracks are not ideal. Although I sound like a skeptic, I admire your creativity and good work!!
@Paoson_Woodworking

You are right! I think I I put my foot in it... working and recording at the same time, sometimes this things happens. Sorry about that. About the mechanism sticking, it has an easy solution with a little bit of grease. I know it is not as a "pro" solution, but it can do the job if you don't have anything better. Thanks for watching and comment!
