    i feel like the wings almost do more harm then good, correct me if im wrong but it looks like the plow down wanna lift the weight of the wet heavy stuff up when in v? also, causes the wings to bleed off alot sooner when side grabbing stuff too? never thought abt putting them on my truck, but just some things im seeing that i may wanna take note on if im right lol

  • @dakotalawnandlandscape

    @dakotalawnandlandscape

    For wet, heavy snows the piles can’t be lift and the wings bleed back with or without the wings just because of how heavy it is. With dry fluffy snow the plow has a harder time lifting when in a push V and so I usually bring them back to straight right at the pile before pushing up. The wings also can bleed back with a lot of fluffy snow but the efficiency by the extra 2’ of width and the containment from the extra angle on the ends of the plow make any job 66% faster and so they are well worth the investment. As long as you’re not getting paid by the hour😉

    How is it plowing with the 6.0 and what do you do to get it ready for winter season. This is my first year plowing with a 6.0

  • @dakotalawnandlandscape

    @dakotalawnandlandscape

    2 жыл бұрын

    The 6.0 is pretty good to me in the winters. I use 5w-40 oil instead of the standard 15w-40 for better lubrication in the cold and then I use #1 diesel with fuel additives for lubrication since #1 diesel doesn’t have any and that’s pretty much it!

    I don’t want to hate more like pencil paper time but time well wasted here. Instead of plowing into small piles away from your snow dump, then beating the ever living piss out of your truck pushing what is now piles of concrete, to the opposite side of the parking lot. Plow directly to where your final pile will be. Secondly start on the other side of the parking lot and push it all away from one side to the other. Time is money and this parking lot should take about 30-35 mins with that big plow, granted you’re training someone

  • @dakotalawnandlandscape

    @dakotalawnandlandscape

    Great ideas! In the next few videos you will see this fan push technique directly to the pile and be able to see the time difference between the two. This lot usually does take about 30 mins with 1" of snow!
