Brings back memories of my days growing up on the farm. Drove a John Deere "B", Ford and Oliver "88" Never saw anyone use a D4.

Yep that's a big appeal for collecting. Nothing more nostalgic than hearing a tractor from your youth chugging along. I haven't had my tractors for very long (6years) and every time I watch a video with.a Farmall m the sound is very similar not the same. Even down to the way the metal flapper cackles on startup/shutdown super interesting hobby for sure

Used to be hearing an old tractor chugging along was a daily occurrence for me, with me in the driver seat occasionally. You don't know what you'll miss until it's gone.

They are all great but I love the sound of that JD horizontal 2 cylinder engine. We have a plow day where I live and been to it 4-5 times, the JD you think is going to die and it just grunts harder and pulls.

I'm sorry, I did not realise you had not been well. The films just stopped coming to my "list". That D4 is fantastic getting through that wet patch. I would not have got through that with my Fordson with spade lugs.

Brilliant video and looks like a brilliant day of fun😊 That boulder just proves the power of a D4 and look forward to part 2. That D4 would show up alot of modern tractors today. Interesting to see that all the implements just relied on being pulled behind a tractor, no PTO shafts, no hydraulics...I don't want to imagine how many thoughts and trial and error sessions went into the design of the implements before they woul work like they should... Thx for showing! 👍👍👍

The big rock is probably a glacial erratic with some topography. One might be able to figure out which mountain range it came from deep in a glacier.

I have never in my life plowed thru standing water. With our clay dirt if you work it wet you just make bricks and it takes years of freezing and thawing to get the clumps back out of it.

As mob handed as you were, that many tractors (and ploughs) should make 30 acres easy (shout out to the little Ford Ferguson doing some fine work!)

I'm a JD guy but nothing beats International Harvester for tillage equipment. Their plows and discs are by and far the best.

Awesome music choice , day 2 should be fun. As myself living on very rocky ground. Huge boulders like these are a annoyance. However they make for great platforms for static displays.

As long as there is a lowboy involved might as well bring your rd6 and just make sure there is enough muscle. It is funny how different that soil plows. Here in southern Minnesota that would have been so slabby and just a mess as wet as it was
