It is interesting that you mentioned that convention of Lomé that has shaped the cooperation between Africa, the Caribbean, the Pacific and the European Union. It is interesting because, as you are talking about the negative effects of others on us, as Africans and on us as Africa, it offers the opportunity to examine the negative effects of ourselves on ourselves. What Lomé? The capital city of Togo. A country in West Africa. Is there more about Lomé? Yes. It is the city where the first deadly coup happened in Africa history. There is more? Yes. The current dictatorship is a direct consequence of that bloody event in January 1963. The year of the founding of the Organisation which will be later the Africa Union. We can say more? Yes. The chief negotiator of countries of Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific is a representative of that 60-year-old bloody and dynastic tyranny, I mean, Togo, in West Africa. By the way, I am a Togolese. Therefore, if we don’t care of the details, if we don’t examine ourselves, we can end up in the consideration that the hinder is only external. Why a representative of a bloody dynastic tyranny should be the chief negotiator for countries of Africa? Is it a blessing or a bloody curse? We need to be rigorous, we need to be demanding with ourselves, we need to criticise ourselves,we need principles.
