The tragedy of Africa is that those with ideas have no power and those with power have no ideas. Why? In Africa we elect the village fools into office, we elect hyenas to look after goats and when goats are consumed we wonder why.”

He is the meaning of liberation for Africa, his independence of mind, saying what needs to be said without stirring up the little civilization Africa has but promoting while facilitating it. It doesn't matter if Africa continues to be reluctant to unite. There must be One Africa, with One Government, One Currency, One economy, One military. Africa does not need any other nations. All the other nations need Africa. Africa only needs to unite itself.

That is safe to say it’s not going to happen certainly not in our lifetime and the next. It’s not a monolith & has never been. East Africa and maybe North Africa have a better chance of integration given language but West Africa and Southern Africa zero chance. Different levels of development, different cultures, different ethnic groups, different languages, histories, religions etc. There is an argument to be made about an economic union like AfCFTA that can ensure that all countries get a fair deal more so when dealing with powerful & wealthy nations like China & USA.

@@solomonburke161 never say never this is true, however how far do you want to go, the world was once one. All having a common ancestor. The migrations that happened over thousands of years, the creation of different clans, then tribes then chiefdoms & Kingdoms and finally empires tells you that even in nature the pupa of a butterfly or moth does not transition back to a larva or egg… it’s grows to be a butterfly. Talk of 54 countries all but one maybe created by European colonial powers being one thing is not steeped in reality. When you have an economic union where all countries have relatively the same levels of equality then maybe you could start talking about political unions. The African Union is still split in the two schools of thought the Nkrumah vs Nyerere camps and many so called pan Africanist speak in forked tongues. They don’t walk the talk.
