With that being said I think I agree that the "stolen bit" was way too short compared to the full song to even ask for permission. Artists quote other artists they like all the time, the real problem was that after being called out and admitting he took the riff idea from Plini, he doubled down and mocked him with another post. So not a professional behavior at all

I'm assuming your talking about the sharp transition right before the hook reprise? Guitar. Looking at Plini's tabs (on sheethappens), its a couple dead strums and then hitting a natural harmonic like your life depends on it.

The prog rock/metal/djent movement is elevating everything. The musicians are raising the bar in every way & it's just exploding into something wonderful.

This song makes me feel like I'm gliding along a moving sidewalk, gradually making my way through a beautiful wasteland of increasing grandeur and entrancing destruction.

@@Paintedbynurgle Man, I know what that's like. I stopped playing for maybe 6 years after giving up on my 'music dream' and getting into regular work. The trick for getting back into playing for me was to let all the layers of background pressure to succeed fall away, and just have fun with it. It's easier said than done, but once it starts to happen the magic can slowly come back. :)

As a drummer, 4:05 has to be my favorite part where Troy goes rogue while everyone else stays the same only to come back to the providing the backbeat at 4:33. Too bad they don't play this live :(

I'm a guitarist but I can't help air drumming to this song, I love it!!

I'm not the kind to proclaim every half-decent pop song 'awesome'. Instead, I save the word 'awesome' for songs like the ones Plini has been putting out. The perfect combination of rhythm, heaviness and melody in his compositions is a testament to his creative genius. As Vai proclaimed, the future of virtuoso guitar playing is secure.

I can't express how much I love and appreciate Plini and his brilliant team. They brought a wave with them, a wave that took us to an island previously undiscovered.
