Great video and painting Shirley under such trying conditions. I am in swansea today and it was so cold , windy and some rain however managed to get some great photos of the sea and the hills in the distance. So beautiful. Heading off to hobart tomorrow . Thanks for the tutorial. I love the free and loose style of your paintings which captures the beauty of nature..love to see your paintings of the west coast .

Sorry it was so windy, but it added a dimension that I think you were able to capture in the sand and surf. Amazing beach and painting, as always.

Really like this one. Tasmania is so beautiful. On a map it looks so close to Antarctica, I always thought it must be so cold, but it seems to be very moderate. What a gorgeous place to vacation and paint, away from the flames .

Thanks 65sunnyday! Actually, it was freezing! I was underdressed. But other days were very warm. They are in drought, so no rain fell while we were there. Quite a mix.

Loved watching you work. Especially liked the brush changes. Sometimes I get so into what I'm painting I forget the bruh I'm using isn't necessarily the best! LOL You conquered the wind!

Loved watching this video you are a awesome artist and I am learning so much from you thanks for battling with the wind to do the painting Can you do a acrylic one soon?

Hi Shirley, thanks again for your demo! I couldn't cope with that wind! Bravo! May i suggest bull dog clips to help keep paper still, i find that works well. It looked as though you were using Raw sienna not raw umber as it looked more yellow on screen? I love how brave you are with bold colours. Especially loving the water /boats scenes. Enjoy Tassie

Hi Toni. Thanks for watching. Yes, my block of paper was destroyed! I’m not equipped with wild weather gear. Clips would be good. My raw sienna is very red. Raw umber is yellower. I’ll check! Thanks.

Thankyou. My big brush is a Reeves spalter. I think it’s a varnishing brush. It came in a set of 3 sizes. From memory it was cheap, so try your local art supply. I’ve looked on amazon and I can’t see it there.

What is that white paint?
