Pilot is actually canon for this show. Charlie originally calls it the Happy Hotel, but Alastor renames it.

Hazbin Hotel is an excellent show, and the musical performances are amazing

Although Adam seems totally an antagonist, we must remember that what Charlie read at the beginning was a story probably given to him by his mother. We do not know both versions of the story, for example it is not entirely clear why Lucifer fell from heaven. Not God's intervention or if he even exists in this world.
