I was 4 when the movie released and absolutely loved it. I remember watching it constantly but even I got secondhand embarrassment watching that scene even though I found it cute. I don’t know why but today, I don’t find it cringy or embarrassing. I find it cute and adorable

One Kiss is about Evie having to wake up Doug from a sleeping spell, but she is unsure if their relationship is true love. Set If Off is the last song from the first movie and the title refers to celebrating, they are celebrating Ben's coronation. Good To Be Bad is about the day where the original 4 VK's choose a group of younger VK's to go to Aurodon High, and they are basically saying that it's a good day to be from the Isle. The VK's aren't really evil, they are just the children of villains who are forced to live on the Isle in poverty, also "wave your V up high" was part of the dance, when they made a V with two fingers to represent their pride. Break This Down is the last song from the third movie, and it's about Mal's decision as Queen of Aurodon to break down the magical barrier between Aurodon and the Isle, I imagine the bridge would have some kind of magical fence that you can't see unless you touch it. And finally, Did I Mention is a bit weird because Ben is under a love spell that makes him act kinda crazy.

The guy with white hair that always has the dog is "Carlos" the son of Cruella de Vil, the actor was Camron Boyce. He was incredibly talented. Sadly he died after filming Descendants 3, before it came out. Disney actually cancelled the red carpet event for the movie release because the release came so soon after his death and the cast was still a devastated.

Fun fact: "Mal" in portuguese means "Bad" and "Ben"(Technaclly is "Bem" but same sound.) means Good. Same or in other latin languages like spanish(Malo,Bien), french (Mauvais, Bien), italian (Male, Bene)....

RIP Cameron!!! :( Also, "Good to Be Bad" was the intro song for the third movie, while "Break This Down" was the outro. Movie 3 wrapped up the franchise as a whole, since Disney Channel usually does trilogies on movies that are super popular like Zombies. And for some context on the movies, there are two islands, Auradon and the Isle of the Lost. Auradon is essentially where all the "heroes" live. The Isle of the Lost is the home of our 4 main characters, Mal ( Daughter of Maleficent & Hades), Carlos (Son of Cruella De Vill), Jay (Son of Jafar), and Evie (Daughter of the Evil Queen). They were brought over to Auradon through a proposal made by Ben (Son of Belle & the Beast), which basically was that "what if not all of these villains' kids are bad?" Just before leaving the Isle, Maleficent forced Mal & friends to steal the Fairy Godmother's wand to break the barrier around the island that had trapped them for a long time. So at the end of the third movie, the barrier was broken and both islands were united.

Descendants holds such a special place in my heart. It's what I watched with my younger step-siblings the day I met them and ended up being the perfect ice breaker. My little sister would not stop asking to hear the soundtrack again after that 😂 I haven't seen them in 5 years and she's gonna be an adult soon... But those moments I will never forget ❤

Matthew just so you know, the guy that played carlos (with the white hair that you said tried to look like a f boy) has passed away in 2019 from SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy) which has been heartbreaking to everyone since he was only 20 years old.

After 9:40 I didn't come up for breath for a while, I just totally lost it🤣, man that was hilarious. You seem to pull the funniest conclusion possible out of your hat at times! Anyway, seeing songs from movies and series I liked through the eyes of someone who doesn't have a clue about the storyline(s) is great, thanks for the amusement! Still not gonna spoil the movie, so.. Have fun with the concern!

Fun fact, three of these actors you’ll also find in Julie and the phantoms! The guy who plays Hades has two killer songs. Then there’s the guy who plays Jay, with the long hair (he doesn’t sing but does have a part in the choreography), and the girl at 17:38 who has a part in a song, rapping :)

i just realized that since you like China Anne McClain’s signing (which is totally valid) could check out disney’s show A.N.T. farm as that’s how she ended up being more introduced in the industry, and she did some songs there too. She’s so much younger on the show, so it’s quite interesting to see that too

The character who you said was kinda dressed like an edge lord is something of a fan favorite like you guessed. His name is Carlos and he’s the son of Cruella De Vil, he’s also the reason the dogs there. It’s his pet, don’t worry he doesn’t take after his Mom when it comes to dogs lol. But he was apprehensive at first as she taught him to fear dogs.

A.N.T farm is a show where China Mclain is in a school for special talents and the songs in it are very good in my opinion

I’ve always loved the way that jay and Carlos are just dancing with ben like they aren’t the reason he is doing this

Am I the only one who likes Mathew's version of events better than the actual plot?? Because like,, the whole villains story that he's come up with is much less cheesy and I would love if the whole thing was just about finding your true villain self in your own unique way, not the way their parents did, and it would have made Audrey's decision in the third movie a lot more powerful. Imagine what those kind of movies would look like with the same songs... (Fanfic writers, to your stations)!

I recomend listening to songs from Mermaid Melody,an anime. It was an important part of my childhood. Unfortunetly there was never an official english released but there are in many other languages such as French,Portugese,Herbrew, Serbian(my language)etc. BUT there are fantranstlations as well as English lyrics! My favorite songs are Tsubasa wo daite,Return to the sea, Beautiful wish and Birth of love! I hope you react to them!🥰🥳🎆🎇 P.S. The Italian dub is Its own thing. Literally,they have their own songs.

I love how you were so confused by the dog being there... tiny bit of background... the character holding the dog is the son of Cruella deVille... so it really plays off the irony of her son (Carlos) being a dog owner..

The journey doesn't have to be over as there's also an animated series called 'Descendants: Wicked World' that also has songs such as 'Evil', 'The Night Is Young' and 'Better Together'. Also, I'd advice watching the movies to really understand what's going on, but this is basically what happens in the movies: (SPOILERS) 1st movie: Within the fairytale world there are two main 'kingdoms': Auradon and the Isle of the Lost. The heroes and good people live in Auradon and the villains and their side kicks have been booted off to the Isle of the Lost with a magical barrier around the island that keeps them there. naturally, however, most of these characters now have children. Belle and her Beast are the king and queen of Auradon and when their son Ben is about to turn 16, he is being prepared to become king. As his first proclamation he chooses four kids from the Isle (VK's) to come to Auradon and attend Auradon Prep so they are given a fair chance at being good. These four kids end up being Mal (daughter of Maleficent), Evie (daughter of the Evil Queen), Carlos (son of Cruella de Vil) and Jay (son of Jafar). At first these kids don't want to go--apart from Evie who wants to be a princess, but their parents--mainly Maleficent--force them to go and task them with stealing the magical wand that belonged to Fairy Godmother. Then end up going and when they can't steal the wand from the museum, Mal finds out that the wand is used at Ben's coronation. She plots to become his girlfriend to sit first row so she can take the wand through giving him a love potion through a cookie. But as time passes everyone starts liking Auradon way more. Mal actually begins to fall in love with Ben, Evie learns that she doesn't have to play dumb for guys, Carlos finds a best friend in the school mutt Dude and Jay becomes part of the school's sports team. But by the time of the coronation it is not Mal who takes the wand, but Jane, Fairy Godmother's daughter. She has a plotline where she doesn't believe she's pretty enough and wants to use the wand to make her pretty like her mom did for Cinderella. This goes wrong, however, and the barrier temporarily breaks. Maleficent gets out, but Mal and her friends manage to defeat her through the power of true friendship. 2nd movie: Mal is officially Ben's girlfriend, but she starts getting more and more freaked out and overwhelmed by everything that's happening around her. Eventually she has a 'fight' with Ben and decides that she doesn't belong in Auradon and runs off back to the Isle. When Evie finds out she goes to Ben and they go back to the Isle with Jay and Carlos to convince Mal to come back home. Mal says no and Ben ends up getting taken by Harry (son of Captain Hook). Him and Gil (son of Gaston) are both members of the pirate group belonging to Uma (daughter of Ursula) and Uma wants revenge on Ben because he chose the others instead of her. Mal ends up losing a game of arm wrestling to Uma and now in order to get Ben back has to deliver Uma the magic wand. They all go back to Auradon with the plan to use their 3D printer to make a new wand and Lonnie (daughter of Mulan and Li Shang) ends up overhearing Carlos and Jay tell Chad (son of Cinderella and Charming) that Ben had been kidnapped and now wants to come to the Isle with them to save Ben. Dude also sneaks into the car--he can talk now due to a 'truth potion' candy now btw--and they go back to get Ben. Mal demonstrates the wand on Dude and gets Ben back, but Uma realizes it was a decoy and they fight, but manage to get away. Mal, however, drops her spell book. Uma finds the spell book and uses a love spell on Ben, but Mal breaks him free with true love's kiss (it's a lot like Eric, Ariel and Ursula). Uma and Mal fight and Uma gets away. 3rd movie: More people are promised to come to Auradon, starting with 4 more kids. Dizzy (daughter of Drizella Tremaine), Celia (daughter of Dr. Facilier) and the twins Squeaky and Squirmy (sons of Smee). They come to Auradon, but just as they leave Hades almost slips through. They manage to push him back, but Mal gets freaked out and suggests to call off the program of bringing VK's to Auradon. Partially because of Hades and partially because Uma was still out there. She pretends to her friends like she's fighting for the VK's however. Then Audrey (daughter of Sleeping Beauty) comes back in. She used to be Ben's girlfriend in the start of the first movie before he dumped her for Mal and is still angry with him for this. She decides to become a villain and she becomes the Queen of Mean to get her revenge. Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay and Celia go to the Isle to try and stop Audrey and find out that Audrey is using Maleficent's scepter to put everyone in a sleeping spell (she also turns some people to stone and turns Ben into a beast). Mal and Celia go to Hades' cave where it is revealed that Hades is actually Mal's absent father, but she has to get his help as his ember could counter against Maleficent's scepter. She gets the ember and they go back, but on their way out Harry and Gil manage to jump through the barrier as well. Uma also shows up and they have to all work together to stop Audrey with the promise that Mal would help the VK's. When it finally turns out that Mal lied, Celia tosses the ember into the water so it loses its affect--she was mad she would never see her father again. Uma and Harry walk off, disappointed but not surprised, and the rest of the group turns to stone in front of Mal. Then Mal manages to convince Uma to help again as they combine their powers to let the ember work and Audrey essentially dies. All the magic is undone and everything is back to normal, except to bring Audrey back they have to bring in Hades. He brings her back and him and Mal kind of reconcile. Then in the end Mal tells the whole kingdom that Hades is her father and that she can't be just queen of Auradon, and has to be queen of the Isle too. Ben and Mal finally take the wand and bring the barrier down, uniting their worlds together again at last.

There’s also the one song called “Feeling the Love” from the animated short film sequel they did called Decendants: Royal Wedding. There will also be a 4th defendants movie coming out with a new cast. So more songs to look forward to with that. No release date yet though.

The whole concept of this prison island for villains is evils within itself, especially since there are not only villains who live there. Such segregation in itself would’ve created classist elites (of maybe the movie showed that already I don’t remember the whole move and it’s sequels) (but I guess it is something that the whole premise of these movies was? That segregation and outcasting people onto an island is bad). There are some plot holes with it, of course it is for children but still it’s not only children who watch this movie (+sequels) (Don’t at me It’s just my opinion) ✌️ But at least the songs and the costumes with some characters are fantastic and amazing and awesome. Especially the songs 🎵🎧👌👌👌

Evie ,the blue haired girl ,did the main vocals in Chillin like a villain. And in space between she did the duet with mal. Something else to tract to would be descendants wicked world is the animated version and it has a few songs not in the live movies.

From the first descendants you haven't listened to Be our Guest. From the second descendants you haven't listened to You and me. From the third you have a few shorter songs like Sarah Jeffery Happy Birthday and did I mention reprise. You also have a Rotten to the Core D3 remix. From the mini series that they have you should listen to the Night is Young, Good is the New Bad, I'm Your Girl, Rather Be With You, Better Together, and Evil. You also have their version of Kiss the Girl, Genie in a Bottle, and Poor Unfortunate Souls. As well as the final song in the series Feeling The Love.

I really like him not having context! I didn't really like the Descendants 3 songs compared to the other movies' songs but seeing him react to them without much context helps me appreciate them more

If I could make a recommendation, the RWBY (pronounced Ruby) soundtrack has some absolute bangers. If I could suggest the trilogy of Red Like Roses, Red Like Roses II, and Guide My Way (Red Like Roses III), and then throw in Until the End to cleanse the pallet, and finish with This Life is Mine… as a treat. FlyntofRwby has great lyric videos for most of them, but I would recommend Sirs and Madams for Until the End’s. There are many songs to choose from though and while not all are to my taste, all of them are certified bangers so to speak.

So context: - One Kiss: Evie, daughter of the Evil Queen, best friend of Mal, had her first and only solo. This happen in the third movie, almost everyone was touch by a sleeping curse and as we know, true love kiss is the answer to wake up someone. Here, Evie has this thing with Doug, one of Snow White's dwarf's son. They hang out a lot, they kinda had dates but never said the L-word. So the song is about the insecurities of what if he doesn't wake up because we're not meant to be? - Set it Off: Final song of the first movie. Basically a big party to celebrate everything that happened (the coronation, the battle against maleficent, the 4 villains choosing good over bad...). Ben and Mal are a couple, at the end of this movie Mal choose good and said that Ben makes her happy. So don't be concerned about that! - Good to be Bad: First song of the third movie. Now that the four main character had adapated to Auradon, they will bring more children, four by four. And they are spreading the message that you can be good and still be you, even if you are a VK (Villain Kid). - Break This Down: Last song of the last movie. There was a barrier around the Isle that prevent the Villains to escape and come back to Auradon, but after the events of the third movies they realize that evil can come from everywhere and they decide to break the barrier to let everyone come. (I always find it weird because there are people that shouldn't come to Auradon, some would obviously try to get revenge. It's even stated in the books that not everyone can be good, but yeah that's what they choose) - Did I Mention: Happens in the first movie. Ben is under a spell that made him in love with Mal and after winning his game he just declares his love for her in front of everyone. But don't worry, the fact that he was under a spell is talked about later in the movie and basically he likes her even if she did that, and she realizes that she likes him too. And yes his name is Ben, or if we want to call him by his full name: Prince Benjamin Florian.

Still missing the finale from Descendants 2 'You and Me' that's such a fun song as well.

There is "Genie in A Bottle" by Dove Cameron solo, "Stronger" by Dove Cameron and China Anne McClain (Uma), "Audrey's Christmas Rewind" by Sarah jeffrey (Audrey aka the Evil Queen) and Jadah Marie (Doctor Facilier's daughter), "Evil" by Dove Cameron, "Rotten To The Core" sang solo by Sofia Carson (Evie) and "The Night Is Young" by China Anne McClain (Uma, but that episode came out before she was cast as Uma so she voices a different character).

To answer some of your questions: Set it off is the end of the first movie. In that movie, Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos (the four ones who sang rotten to the core, ways to be wicked, and good to be bad) , they’re evil in the first movie, but during Ben’s coronation (right before set it off) they decide to be good and are good for the rest of the movies. Idk why mal dodged his kiss other than for some reason they never have the love interests kiss in the first of the dcom series’. The dog is Carlos’ dog, and he was kind of the schools’ “mascot”. He’s cruella de vil’s son and she raised him to be afraid of dogs so at first he was terrified of him but then he becomes his pet. The second movie, mal feels too much pressure being perfect in the spotlight so she goes back to the isle of the lost, and when evie, Ben, Carlos, and jay go to bring her back, Ben gets captured by Uma (sang what’s my name) and she’ll only give him back for the wand for freedom. They give her a fake wand and get out but she escaped when they went back to auradon and used a spell for Ben to fall in love with her and mal kisses him to break the spell and uma swims away (because she turns into an octopus like thing like Ursula and mal turns into a very badly cgi’d dragon) and that’s like the end of the second movie. In the third movie the VK’s (villain kids) in auradon pick four kids to come to auradon, which is kind of what good to be bad is about. Ben proposes to mal, and Audrey gets mad because she was originally dating Ben and was supposed to be queen until mal and Ben started dating him so she turns evil, stealing maleficents scepter and the crown (when she sings queen of mean) she turns people to stone, makes them fall asleep, turns mal into an old woman, and turns Ben into a beast. Mal needs to get hades’ ember to help turn Audrey back to normal and it works because he’s her dad. Throughout this, Uma, Harry (captain hooks son) and Gil (Gaston’s son) join them through getting through the barrier, and they help because mal promises they can stay in auradon, which was a lie because they had to close the barrier for good, leaving everyone stuck there forever. Long story short, they end up saving Audrey, and mal decides to open the barrier permanently, allowing people to go wherever they want anytime they want to. And that’s basically the end, if you have any other questions I can try to answer them I was obsessed with these movies when they came out 😂😂😂😂
