It's a huge meme now, but this was a really magical moment for me the first time around. Seeing this guy--the _leader of the gods_ who's been hyped up all-game--as a pathetic hollow really took the wind out of my Dark Souls power fantasy, and I mean that in the best possible way.

Because with the DLC we can understand the very powerful message they leave for the third and last of the saga. And is seriously so beautifully done. Ah the lord of the ice kingdom truly destroys my heart when I have to end his misery. He did everything to protect her :'(

@@Kurumi_Kazuha everybody knows why everybody throws shit at DS2 and it's right to do so. they abused the same message from the last boss fight of DS1 and recycled it 2 times.

to most players, parrying gwyn feels like it trivializes the fight to souls fans, parrying gwyn gives the feeling that the man you're fighting truly is just a husk of his former self

It's fun but WAY to easy I got stuck at gwyn in SL1 and ng+7 having never parryed b4 after about 150 trys between them both files and after losing the closest fight I've ever seen I got mad picked up my first shield and learned to parry for the win within 10 attemts

Personally, i really hate they chose to put the piano-violin version instead of the piano solo, the piano solo really reflected how pathetic Gwyn really was, shame this wasn't reflected on DS3 aswell

@@durchfaII Well, thanks to the benchmark that is the Soul of Cinder, I think they didn't want to take away the feeling of the last battle in the Souls trilogy, and that the Soul also includes other Lords of Cinder.

SOC is not even the last fight in the trilogy, if you would call it a trillogy since DS2 is not connected with the DES, DS1, and DS3 world, and last boss in the trilogy was Gael, besides, it would've made more sense to have the piano solo, since you're fighting Gwyn, and the chosen undead in specific, the rest of the lords died in the first phase. And if i'm not mistaken the violin version plays in DS1 in rare ocasions during the last fight when Solarie survies in lost izalith, to mention that Solarie canonically died in lost izalith, so it makes no sense to even have it in DS3

@@EarlingSteward first it isn’t the same bug it can be a random one doesn’t make a difference, second I played ds3 first so didn’t understand the reason of plins but using it on soc isn’t right since you aren’t fighting Gwynn but the incarnation of the first flame using his powers for Gwynn is dead but his influence isnt

Gwyn's theme is so fitting, it shows how far the Lord of cinder has fallen, from mighty king to a mindless hollow.

I dont think there are much issues except the pvp. It was my first dark souls game after Bloodborne and I loved it through and through. I love the "open" world kind of theme. You had no idea where to go after getting out of the asylum. Some guy was ranting about bells but no clear directions. I remember I actually stumbled into the graveyard in the beginning and gave up after a few tries. I didnt play ds3 yet and ds2? I hated it. It felt..off? I dunno. I didnt enjoy it as much.

Dark souls is about as close to perfect as a dark souls game ever got. Dark souls 2 was an interesting twist on some of the themes of the first game and Dark souls 3 is a heart wrenching goodbye to the series but Dark Souls simply nails its mood in a way that I've quite honestly never seen matched.

It’s a perfect boss. Hyped through the whole game as this absolute powerful god who led the legends you’ve defeated on the path to get there. He was the greatest of them all.. but by the time you get to him the fire has worn him down, he’s burnt out and a shell of his former self. Still immensely strong but he is weak. He can be parried and dodged easily which shows how much the fire took from him. The eventual fate of all those who bring on an age of light

i think it's super cool of Miyazaki to make the final boss-someone hyped up the entire game-be so easy. he's gone hollow, he's no longer the god he once was. it's such a left hook and i love it. plus, with the DLC, you could argue that Manus or Kalameet is truly the final boss of DS1
