shows autistics can do anything. perfect film for younger generations. im autistic myself, but it doesn't stop me from living my life, doing what i want. Never let anything stop you from living your life. Some autistics may need support, but they are still human. we are all different and unique in many ways.

Okay. I no longer care that this movie is $7 just to rent right now. I need to watch this. Fanning is awsome. I love all the women in this scene. I'll make it a special kind of movie experience 😊🍿🍺

Ditto. I'll also be forking over the $7. Fanning (this one and the other one) has always been amazing.

just watched it and a couple cool things I noticed is her knitting being som sort of relief. I bet it was Dakota herself who suggested that for wendy.😂 Also something I find myself having the habit of sometimes is talking extremly low and people being like "what?, that was a little low" without me realizing it was that low🤣

Question for any autistic woman: Is this a good portrayal of your condition?

I think it's not the same for every autistic women, but for me, it's a good portrayal of the way I live as autistic. (sorry if my English is not good)

Hands-down the best one I’ve seen! I really appreciate how many autistic people Dakota Fanning met before she did this.

I'm a man yet I can say. There are many aspects of autism. You can have some of them and some not. Also you can have really really strong autism and really really low autism, which may even never would be diagnosed. I myself am very sure that I have a light to medium form of autism but learned to live with it so well that it doesn't bother me anymore. If I look back at my childhood: Damn was i autistic. And nobody cared or thought about it. I just felt different all the time and didn't want to be around people and always was the awkward kid. Today I am good in conversation but only if I want to. When I feel there is too much going on I become quiet and head into a corner. My wife always told me I act disrespectful but after some time she understood that I am different and respects and even supports me. I think its not easy to handle autistic people but they are honest and simple. It's just the people who categorize them to be abnormal and then you feel not welcome and weird. If we just learn to accept us as we are there would be no social anxiety. Just a last sentence. And I know many will be offended by this. But the way how I got married and learned to live with my "condition" is by coming to faith in a god that cteated me as he wanted me to be. I believe in Jesus Christ and he healed my anxiety and my suicidal thoughts and I know that being autistic is an ability, not an disability.

Not sure how I feel about this tbh. This movie does seem more respectful of the autism community though compared to that god awful movie that Sia made called “Music.” I can’t believe she made that movie honestly, it’s AWFUL.

I think you could probably make a movie which had virtually no budget, little plot and blah production values, and someone would still give it a "Thumbs Up" as long as it had several hot blondes in it.
