Tressa Sularz (1945-2024) was a nationally recognized fiber artist who contributed significantly to Textile Center's success over the years as a board member, exhibiting artist, and teaching artist. All are invited to an informal memorial gathering at Textile Center on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 1 to 4 pm CDT. Program at 2pm CDT.
A cherished friend to many at our center and in the basketry world, Tressa’s work has been exhibited in numerous venues around the country, including several exhibitions at Textile Center. Over the years, she participated in our A Common Thread member exhibition, and she also held a solo exhibition in 2016, Dancing My Way Home, during which she stated: "My art has always been organically intertwined with my life."
We're honored to have the catalog from her 2023 retrospective, A Soul Weaver's Journey: Tressa Sularz, in the collection of Textile Center's library.
