Dean Winchester, the definition of deserves better. Hes made mistakes but who hasn't. He was always there for Sammy, he had to be a mother and a father and a brother to Sammy, and he never got the recognition he deserved for it. John Winchester claims he was protecting his kids by going after what killed Mary and Jess, and becoming a hunter, but what his kids really needed was a father, not a guy who was around occasionally and would dump all of his responsibilities on his kids. John Winchester might have been the guy who shares blood with Sam and Dean, but Bobby is their dad. Bobby was their for them when they needed it when they were kids. Bobby is the one who watched them when John was too busy to do it. Bobby is the one who talked Dean out of suicide. Bobby is the one who never had children of his own, because he never felt the need too, because he was the boys father. Bobby is the one who taught Sam and Dean everything they know abour hunting. Bobby is the one who deserves to be called dad by Sam and Dean, not John. I know everyone has different opinions about John, and that's their right, but I can't sit here and pretend like John was a good dad. He wasn't!

I honestly hold such a deep hate of John Winchester, he put too much on Dean, he was 4 when his mom died, and I'm sure he started taking care of Sam at 5, you don't do that to kids, they don't know how to take care of themselves, let alone another human being, and then he has the audacity to get mad at Dean and make him feel that it was his fault, (Which now btw, is why Dean hates himself) whenever something bad happens to Sam. It is all John's fault If you really wanted to take care of your kids you would be there, you wouldn't leave them for days, sometimes weeks on end while hunting things, you would stay with them.

I never noticed how burdened dean was by all his dad’s shit. It wasn’t fair he never got to be a kid. And instead of praising him his excuse for a dad just piles on more negativity and dean just has to deal. And damon lashing out on stefan left me in tears because stefan wanted to think the best of his mom, naturally bc he just wanted a mom. And damon reminding stefan how bad she had messed up when she ditched them for new family was heartbreaking. Oh and fiona’s was really sad too.

Sammy suffered too He was fed by a demon because his mother made that stupid deal Every girl he get closed to dies and he keep that burden on him He was aggressive in the beginning but turned out to be the most calm and logical one in the show They both suffered in their own way and they both deserved better😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I know I'm late but don't feel bad about it. It's not your fault or anything. It's hard having parents who just see through you and don't see how their actions affect their own kids. But it's not your fault. Be happy about the life you have. You prob deserve it and some people are out there who come a long way from having no love growing up. But that's just how we were raised and it's okay.

Screw my real dad , but I felt so bad when my grandad died ( foster father ) , that it made me physically sick for a year , to the point where I had to lose my job , get a neurologist , therapist , and psychiatrist . Miss him so much 😪❤️

Quiet Whispers I am , I'm in therapy still , and taking anti psychotics to treat bipolar 2 , which gives me severe depressive episodes . It also helps with my anxiety , since my doctor said I internalize stress instead facing it , and that makes me physically ill. I'm even job searching again , and trying to get back to EMT school 😊😊

God, this was like watching my life. My dad ran off and abandoned our family the day after my seventh birthday, taking my birthday money with him, and then I didn't see him for almost 14 years, other than the occasional phone call to ask for money. Then he suddenly walked back into my life and wanted to pretend that nothing happened. And I gave him another chance, like an idiot, and after a year of trying to mend our relationship, he just got on a plane and left again, two days before my birthday, without a phone call, or saying goodbye. Now he's back a year later and he hasn't called me, but he called my sister to let her know he was looking living in an apartment and had been for a month. I just hate him so much and I just feel so worthless, but I know that I shouldn't. Everything will be fine. Sorry for over sharing, lol. Really good video! I love the inclusion of Nathan and Dan. Almost all my favorite shows wrapped into one video.

Dude I just love comparing Damon's reaction to his mom to Dean's reaction to his dad. Idk those two kinda stand out to me in this video. Damon was abandoned and neglected by his mom so he hates her; all affection and devotion, which he would give her by default just cause she's his mother, is erased. He looks at it logically and says she doesn't deserve that or any help from him, "she deserves what she gets." From a therapeutic stand point, breaking ties with a toxic person in your life is beneficial (although, dude's anger issues are def not healthy). But Dean. Dean doesn't do that. Dean reaches for his dad and just. keeps. trying. over and over again. Even when he gets older his devotion and love for his father never falters. And while I don't think John Winchester was an abusive dad (yes, fanfiction I'm lookin at you), the guy definitely neglected and ignored his sons physically and emotionally. And from a psychological perspective, it just breaks my heart because Dean is so desperate for someone who's almost never there for him. Idk which is worse tho? The parent who just left altogether or the parent who is only kinda sorta there. And of course Damon and Dean have different personalities and what not. Idk it's really cool to me.

Nicole Hopp Nicole Hopp yeah same here, I love the comparisons. I love all the parallels too. That’s exactly what I tried to show in this video too. In my opinion I think it’s having the parent who’s kinda there but also not totally there in the ways that matter most more heartbreaking. As you said, Dean tries so much for that small bit of attention and love from his father, he does everything, just for some recognition. He spends his whole life doing this, I think that takes a toll mentally. However, think it also depends on the viewer, sometimes you relate more to one story than the other, and you understand characters more because you know what that feels like. Regardless, both stories are heartbreaking and it’s interesting watching how different relationships play out and how those emotions manifest with certain characters.

i hate what dean went through. he had to become so much for sam from the moment their mom died. but i feel like they don’t show what sam went through enough in these videos. i know dean had it tough but so did sam. he probably grew up thinking he wasn’t good enough because his dad always threw him aside especially when he got older. and in the recent seasons when his mom got back. she acted like she cared more for dean. that’s just my opinion

People will say so what if your father left you. You still have someone. People need to understand that the pain of knowing your father doesn’t want you never goes away and leaves a scar that never fades

I feel like no one has the same problems as me. My father didn't abuse me. He didn't die. He didn't drink alcohol. He didn't get divorced from my mother. He isn't in prison. But he's not in the picture anymore. I wish I could feel like I have valid problems. I wish they weren't so confusing, to where I have to explain every time someone asks "Where's your father?". I wish things were simpler. I wish I had him back.

My dad is an idiot, he was the first person to break my heart and now I have this constant hole in my heart. I’ve never woken up on my birthday to see him, he only moans at me and makes me cry. Because of him I have depression and anxiety and trust issues so cheers to the dads that just give the amazing mothers money as a get out of jail free card!!

I meet my dad for the first time when I was 14 I wanted to meet him I wanted a father cause the man who raised me died of cancer it was the biggest mistake of my life I wish I had never done it because he told me he loved me and would be there for me now but all he does is do drugs and is in prison can't get a stable place to live he's been like that since he was 16 and there's no changing him so all of you who are upset about you father leaving you I get it but sometimes it's the best thing for you I would have grew up much worse if my father was in my life I jsut need to forget about him and remember the man who spent the last 14 years of his life raising me that's a real father blood or not he died loveing me like his own because my really father didn't want me

I feel you, but at least you meet your father. Mines still lost in the store he was going to when I was five years old. My dad passed away matter of fact about to be two years on March 25th from heart and Kidneys failure...

This story sounds similar.....with few things different....My dad addicted to sex and lost his job trying to keep his many whores afloat by stealing from his job and now cant find a place and is so afraid of being alone now (mom left him....and now she dead so you know tha thurts) and I barely talk to him so he clinging to a druggie crack whore who also fucking other men but he doesnt seem to care. Oh how some fathers just fall so far.....seems to be a running curse so far in this damn family of mine. My cousin father left when he was only 4 and he was abusive, my other cousins father (my uncle by blood unlike the other cousin father) tries forcing his sudden new wife and sudden new kids onto his older kids because "he the father and he takes care of them so they have to deal that he found someone to be with and got pregnant but only been with her about a month and got her pregnant on accident but we are going to get married." (note he been a widow for 4 5 maybe 6 years) and then proceeds to alienate his son when he decides to not move in with him and stay with his grandparents because he has school he goes too and doesn't want to transfer, because he refuses to obey my uncle's rule of calling my uncle's new wife "mom", and got a job while still in school so he can prep for college. Then my uncle alienates his daughter recently this past year because she graduated from high school but wanted to go move in with her aunt from her mothers side and since she wants to move away to get a job and start her own life slowly she bad because she "betraying him" by going over to my cousin's mothers family side who he hates for no reason really. Wow my family just fucked up.....

I feel for u and can relate but don’t compare other people’s father dramas.

At least I have my mom,my dad can’t remember my birthday one day I called my dad like 2 years ago and told him I got him a card and he didn’t want a card so I never gave it to him but at least I have my mom she is strong and a independent woman

I can't say that my dad loves me. but Im fine without him. Because he is happy without ME
