For those of you who are still having trouble, make sure you change your phone’s name in “about”. Very crucial part bc I had mine as an older name and it didn’t work. I'm curious (and you may not know) would this work with a Samsung mobile (obviously the settings steps might be different) and different mobile carrier (I'm in Australia). I just want to make sure before I get one for my son, as he will mostly want to use it when away from home, and don't know if the Playstation Portal is the best option...

Good question, I had some comments on both of my videos saying it worked! You have to test these numbers out yourself to see if it works for you.

I got mine to connect through t mobile hotspot and it it did connect through to my ps5 but the problem is that it is very laggy and i can't be able to play. Is there a way to improve the speed connection. I ran a speed test and the download speed was 500 and upload was 9. So maybe the upload speed can be fixed somehow thanks

I’ve had my portal for a couple months now and can’t connect. Hope this works. Thanks for the video. Also if I change all those settings is it gonna mess up my home settings when I’m connected to my house wifi as I mainly play my portal in bed away from my setup

what is the need for setting it statically? is this a random IP?

Good question! Nope the portal holds onto about 2-3 WiFi networks at a time so if you leave home, just turn on your phones hotspot and the portal should remember the network settings!

I'm trying to do the same on ee network on a 5g/6g phone, with a 500mbps network with a mesh expander at home. I can connect to phone, but phone can't find network at home. What am I missing? How does hotspot connect to home?

Had to restart my iphone networks and THEN it worked. Please make sure you have “maximize compatibility” OFF and that your data plan is still active as well as having 5G, otherwise it’ll constantly disconnect from the ps5. Also will run into issues if you have low battery mode enabled. But yes, it did work for me, but ONLY after i reset all my network connections stuff. You do this by: settings>general>transfer or reset iphone>reset>reset network settings.

I don’t believe so for mobile phone hotspots they don’t require login screens just passwords. Now for the new update (3.0.0) you have the option to login to a PUBLIC WiFi network that has a login webpage. It only works with 2.4ghz networks only as of now. In my latest video about the new update I was able to get it work with a 5ghz public WiFi network at Starbucks.

Yup I'd recommend you have the ps5 on a dedicated wifi connection so you don't using the phones Hotspot bandwith. Probably having the ps5 connected to your home wifi network is the best way to stream.

for some strange reason everyone is saying that it worked for them but i did everything exactly even using the same numbers that actually varies since your IP address changes everytime you go from wifi to network service. and its definitely not working still.

Had an easy time connecting to my hotspot but once i attempted to connect to my PS5 it said “something went wrong” & im on 5G data as well.

I got the same phone an plan as u an still doesn't connect it so weird hoping there a solution.

Well I spoke too soon. It’s now connected but it won’t stay connected to my ps 5 for more than 10 seconds. I have a 5g connection getting 230mbs…

Not really. A lot of users tried to contact them but the network uses a different NAT type as the portal so this is one of the only ways to get around it.

Ok so started again. Doesnt work. If i put in psp what you wrote it gives error. I dont understand what details your giving us because i have no device corresponding to those details. As i understand it, i cant enter a static address on ps5, done. Portforward to that address, done. Then my phone and psp. I can connect psp to phone hotspot. But thats it, nothing connects from there. Is there some setting on phone? Under wifi it has static ip options, but im uaing cellular data not the wifi and cant change that. So im not understanding, beyond connecting to my phones hotspot, setting up the ps5 and router. Theres something inbetween, you talk about putting those settings in but all i get is error.if i put that in psp. How does my phone know how to access the network, or is it the psp that knows and uses phone as gate.. Not one video on youtube explains everything for people to understand. Like put in those settings, why, it doesnt make sense, because it doesnt correspond to my phone. As for it corresponding to ee, i dont understand either. Im good with tech, but im autistic and without the whole understanding im not getting it Please make another video Im using android, not iphone. But i still dont get why yoi say those ip and dns etc, hows it correspond to anyone else other than your phone?

They are aware of the issues but no timeframe as to a fix... You know blah blah blah. It pisses me off too trust me.
