no, a pc can't play the best games on ps4/ps4 pro. since they are exclusives. that's why i got a ps4 pro, even tho i got a $2500 gaming pc. most of the best games i've played in the last few years was on the ps4 system, had a ps4 before this pro - bought a 4k hdr tv too, looks stunning in supported games. i actually only prefer pc for 1st person shooters. ps4 have insanely good exclusives coming out next year too.. my pc will probably be collecting dust in most of 2017.

GameStop had a deal that you bring your old PS4 and you get the Pro for less than half the price. I did that, and have been happy. It was quite literally a hardware upgrade, rather than me buying a new console and have the old one gathering dust as a paperweight. So far I have had zero problems with the Pro.

Can you make your videos a bit more "dynamic"? Just some small touches like adding some background music, editing the video a bit fancier, some cool backgrouds... Maybe not so many views because Thio can be very opinionated, and come across as a bit arrogant? Also a bit of intolerance shows through. Look at guys like MKBHD: mellow, easygoing, relaxed, mostly neutral in his reviews.

Great video. The graphics on the playstation 4 pro should look a little better on a 1080p, one thing that you didn't explain was that the pro has an additional 500GB of storage which made the purchase little more desirable, when considering a hard drive swap.

How is video not getting 1million views? it answers all my questions I've been looking for the past month which most youtubers don't show the technical stuff as you mentonied. You got your self a subber!

The PS4 pro has been downplayed a lot. I am very impressed with the visuals. It almost pulls me away from going on my PC for some of these action based games. HDR is a huge improvement to visuals as well.

You cant compare quality. Anything you download or stream will be much lower quality than what you would get on a disc because of file sizes and bit rates.

but putting it on the disc is just the easy way out. if it was only available for streaming then ISPs would be forced to uncap users because of the file sizes. the us internet infrastructure is really falling behind. BTW there are many sites with UHD content that it high bitrate and large file size. youtube should be upping their default 4k bitrate as well very soon.

4K Blu-ray Player? I understand everyone's complaint but thePS4 Pro is for gaming. It would be stupid for company that sells seperate units for 4k continent as they would lose money on those products. Another thing, whole point of this system was for those consumers that have 4K tvs. It's not suppose to be the answer to hardcore PC gaming. It's main purpose is for the Consumers with 4k TV's to have a popular device that would work with there expensive purchase.

Excellent review, you are one of two videos I have ever found which actually explain chroma subsampling. Great work!

To the PC guys, play Horizon Zero Dawn or Last of us Remastered on PS4 Pro on an 4K HDR TV. Compare it to one of your gaming PC games. You will not see any major difference Worth speinding $1500 or so more on a PC. BE HONEST! Yes With a high Graphic card you will get more FPS then 60 but to me not enough visually to invest in so much more money for a PC. Consoles are getting better and staying on the cheaper side. FYI all this is so dependent on the delvelopers. Weather it's the Pro or a PC it depends on if the developer took the time to use the power of the console or PC. Bottom line is I can play on my couch on a large TV and have some great game libraries and now in 4K (especially with Scorpio coming) and I don't have brake the bank to do so.

They didn't put a bluray player in because you'd never use one.

"Xbox One S is basically the equivalent of the PS4 Pro" no it's the equivalent of the PS4 Slim, the Scorpio will be the equivalent of the Pro. Rosencrantz23ph the only reason developers want to make games is because it sells well, but the performance has reach max, Sony keeper it cheap and rush it out to sell it before the SCORPIO as a market strategy, basically as the early bird gets the catch, but many people will feel disappointed very soon, because it drains more memory from patches and Sony is relying more in downloadable games, they minimize the cost as much possible, but that is the end result, SCORPIO will be superior by much, very easily rendering natively the 4K, and because it will have more than just 1T, it will not clutter that fast, PS4PRO is not so PRO, and when games get slightly heavier the fps will feel it when performing.

Rosencrantz23ph let's face the facts, PRO will not be capable of having a good well performance in future games that render 4K, because it relies in patches, which means the frame rates will be lower, so basically it sells more, but right now it has reach it's limits.

I upgraded from the standard ps4 to the ps4 pro due to the fact that the standard one started lagging when going from game to menu and it just struggled with use. The power in the pro is definently a noticable difference esspecially if you play alot, totally worth it. Cheaper with trade in aswell ;)

Hey buddy and thanks for the video. I want to ask you something. I have the TV LG50UH635V that it supports 4K and HDR Pro. But as I can see in the specs about its panel bit depth, the value is 10 bits (8 bits + FRC). That means I supposed, it doesn't support a true 10 Bits right? Otherwise it would just write 10 Bits without the 8 Bits + FRC part. So in this case what's the best video output that I have to use on my PS4 Pro? The YUV420 or the 2160p RGB? Also about the TV settings. What's the best Picture option to use? HDR? Gaming? Cinema? In these settings I have enable the True Motion to deletion and the Super High Resolution to High. I have enabled of course the Ultra HD Deep Color in the settings. In the games that supports HDR like the God Of War, the PS4 automatically changing mode its own to HDR. But to the rest of the games that it does not support HDR, seems I have to use one of the settings I mentioned above. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

just bought an LG oled 65" curved tv and it's amazing. bought a ps4 pro but haven't opened it. I have a ps4 now. the oled upconvert my blu rays and it has built in support for amazon, Netflix and vudu to run in 4k. so the only advantage of ps4 pro is the games. the hdr looks good on regular games and I'm thinking of taking back the ps4 pro. like you, I'm baffled by lack of uhd player. thoughts? Like your review. A lot of reviews forget to talk about 4K tv without HDR (which is my situation), and just assume if you have a 4K tv it has HDR. Not so.

ThioJoe: the lack of a 4kBluRay Drive bothers me because 4KBluRays hold more storage than Blu-Ray discs. So, while a dev might want to use High Quality 4k-Textures, they won't be able to fit it on the disc and therefore just upscale 1080p textures. I'll wait for Next Gen PC Cards or an Xbox Scorpio if I want a 4k Native console. 1880p upscaled via checkerboarding hurts my eyes

the biggest question is why in the world no one supports 3 screens. this is old and best thing ever and should really be standard by now

Noel Mendez the 4k differnece isnt much its not worth it just buy the ps4 slim 1Tb

I am cruising with a Pro hooked up to Sony 49 inch X900E. It is 4k, hdr, 60hz. I think it will display 1080p at 120hz, but not certain about that. I never did upgrade the Pro HDD to SSD which would be a worthy upgrade. But too late now with a PS5 on the horizon. Put that extra money towards a PS5, as soon as one becomes available. Never regretted upgrading from the base PS4, even though it is not a huge upgrade in overall performance, it is noticeable. I am playing Monster Hunter World Iceborne and the Pro does great with this visually demanding title. I do not know what frames I am getting, or the true resolution, but I know it is not 4k at 60fps. I am waiting for the PS5 to see what that looks like. But the Pro is doing pretty good! Well enough to where I am not anxious about upgrading. I can sit tight until a PS5 comes my way.
