There's also a 5th way to turn on the PS3..... If you put your TV on the HDMI Source the PS3 is plugged into and *HDMI Control* is enabled on the PS3... it will power on

You can actually clear out the dust from the ps3, you turn it off by the plug then hold the eject button and then turn the plug on while holding the eject then the fans will clear out the dust

You can also use a PS4 controller on the PS3 wirelessly to, you just have to connect it in the Bluetooth settings but you also need to plug it in first to get to the settings, then you can unplug it when it's trying to connect

On the og ps3 fix, I’d start by cleaning the laser with a Len’s cleaner disc. Even though there’s dust flaps, a lot of it still gets in there. I recently fixed an Atari 2600 and the inside was caked with dust.

There’s a way to connect a PS3 Controller to PS4 Plug in one end of the PS3 Controller Charger into the PS4 and the other end into the PS3 Controller. Hold the PlayStation button for about 3 seconds until you see 1 light flashing, unplug the PS3 controller charger and you’re good to go

For that old ps3 you should try to do a fan blowout you turn on the main power and eject at the same time and it will blow out most of the dust
