The Battle of Thermopylae (Hotgates) was fought in 480 BC between the Achaemenid Persian Empire under Xerxes 1 and an alliance of Greek city-states led by Sparta under Leonidas I. Lasting over the course of three days, it was one of the most prominent battles of both the second Persian invasion of Greece and the wider Greco-Persian Wars. A stop motion movie, using Playmobil figures.

Chr. zwischen dem achämenidischen Perserreich unter Xerxes 1 und einem Bündnis griechischer Stadtstaaten unter der Führung von Sparta unter Leonidas I ausgetragen. Sie dauerte drei Tage und war eine der prominentesten Schlachten sowohl der zweiten persischen Invasion in Griechenland als auch der größeren griechisch-persischen Kriege. Ein Stop-Motion-Film mit Playmobil-Figuren.

Exzellenter Film! Ich kenne diese Schlacht und habe auch schon selber einen Stop-Motion-Film darüber gedreht. Manche Szenen erinnern an den Film“300“. Wenn man sich mal die Übermacht vorstellt, die die Spartaner aufhalten mussten! Unglaublich!

Ja, genau das habe ich mir gedacht, als ich dieses Video gemacht habe. Stellen Sie sich vor, wie dieser Kampf im wirklichen Leben wäre, wenn Sie der riesigen persischen Armee gegenüberstehen ... Unglaublich.

The backgrounds this time round look incredible. Those cliffs really give the video a sense of scale! I love the clash of the armies and the music is suitably grand. Xerxes looks great and the barrage of arrows is one of your best shots. That final end really looked great. R.I.P. Leonidas

Great video! And I don't know if you know this, but how do you put playmobil parts that don't go on that character on a different character?

The playmobil figures can be dissembled and reassembled the way you like. Older ones can be tricky, but there are many methods. I use a rubber band around the head and twist the head while pulling the legs, until all parts are off. Thank you!

Τις φτιάχνω από ήδη υπάρχων φιγούρες, παίρνω κομμάτια από εδώ και από εκεί και τα φτιάχνω. Δοκίμασε το, είναι εθιστικό😅
Εχω αρκετα να πω για τουτο το βιντεακι σου.. Καταρχας η ατμοσφαιρα ειναι παρα πολυ ωραια, πολυ πετυχημενη οπως και οι στρατιωτες.. και οι περσες και οι Λακεδαιμονιοι Κατα δευτερον πολυ πετυχημενη η σκηνη με τους Σπαρτιατες να εχουν φτιαξει την φαλαγγα {[3:35]} και να περιμενουν τους τρεχομενους περσες που επιτιθονται.. Το βιντεο μου αρεσει παααρα πολυ μεχρι το σημειο {[4:30]} απο εκει και περα που σπανε τον σχηματισμο τους οι Ελληνες και πολεμουν ενας εναντιον ενος με τους περσες ειναι λαθος το οποιο πιστευω πηρες απο την χολιγουντιανή ταινια με τους 300.. Ποτε δεν εσπαγαν την φαλαγγα γιατι υπολογιζαν στον συνπολεμιστη τους και τον προστατευαν με καθε κοστος.. Ποτε δεν χαλουσαν αυτον τον μοναδικο καλα σχεδιασμενο σχηματισμο! Αν εκαναν κατι τετοιο και παλευε ο καθενας για τον εαυτο του τοτε θα ηταν 300 εναντιον 10.000.. θα ηταν πολυ πιο ευκολο να νικησουν οι περσες με το προβαδισμα που θα ειχαν.. θα ηταν 100 προς 3... Επισης η σκηνη με τον Λεωνιδα να πολεμα μονος του και να σκοτωνει αβερτα περσες ειναι παραποιηση της ιστοριας μου και ολων των Ελληνων γιατι κατι τετοιο δεν συνεβει ποτε.. οπως και πολλα αλλα που εγιναν για την δημοσιοτητα και τα λεφτα απο γνωστες και "μεγαλες" εταιριες.. Ξερω πως δεν το εκανες για αυτον τον λογο γιατι ξερω με τι σκεπτικο φτιαχνεις καθε σου βιντεο και τι ξοδευεις για να τα φτιαξεις και το εκτιμω.. επρεπε ομως να σου πω καποια λαθη που διαπιστωσα Παντως το σκηνικο με τα βραχια απο πισω.. η μουσικη... Και ο τροπος στις κινησεις τους ειναι πολυ καλα φτιαγμενα!😃 Συγχαρητηρια για ακομη μια φορα!

Αγαπητέ Dragontom, στα περισσοτερα που αναφέρεις, συμφωνώ 100%. Ισως θα έπρεπε να κάνω πιο ξεκάθαρο ότι πρόκειται για αναπαράσταση της ταινίας 300, και όχι τόσο της κανονικής ιστορίας που έγινε στην πραγματικότητα. Όχι ότι διαφέρουν και τραγικά, αλλά σε αρκετές λεπτομέριες τις οποίες σωστα ανέφερες. Σκοπός του βίντεο πάντως δεν ήταν τόσο η μάθηση της ιστορίας ή η ακριβής αναπαράσταση της μάχης, όσο η ψυχαγωγία😉 Σ ευχαριστώ πάρα πολύ πάντως για το σχόλιο, πάντα χαίρομαι να διαβάζω τις εντυπώσεις σου!😁

Το καταλαβα για αυτο και το ανεφερα.. πολυ ωραιο βιντεακι παντως, πολυ το πετυχες! Καταφερες τον σκοπο σου.. 😉
I like the historical stuff in this video. Otherwise though, it’s getting a little repetitive, a battle, yeah, and what about it? Considering this is 13 minutes long, it’s actually becoming a bit boring. No greenscreen nor super new figures can ensure entertainment. Apart from the duels of course, when there’s actually something happening, or when Leonidas dies, I understand it’s long and slow; it has to be. But the rest? It needs some action, not just pseudo-action achieved by pseudo-fight. You see, it doesn’t make me want more, to be impatient the every two weeks (or is it one?) before the next video comes out. That was a perfect thing about The Tale, that it had story ,which ofc led to different encounters and fights every episode, but which also made me commited, want to see more, being excited when it finally came out. I watch this only to see if there’s a pleasant surprise (like the dwarves’ sword - that one was really good). Please do a 2nd season of The Tale or another series (or just different type of video); I wanna be excited about it, I want to enjoy it, I want you not become monotone and “factory-like”, if you know what I mean. Sorry for the long unhappy comment, but I think you can do better (And we deserve better ;))

You see, I like the Tales more than making random videos, I enjoy making the story, the characters etc. This is how I started this channel, wanted to make a fantasy series. But despite what I believe it's better, videos like this, get more views and definitely more watch time(people watch almost the whole video where the Tale videos are being watched only during the battles, very few enjoy the story.). I don't like what I say but the Tale is just for few people. I'm sorry that it makes you feel that way, for now the videos will continue in the same manner. But, I promise you that in the future, a season 2 will come if even they are much more challenging and time consuming to make. Whether it gets views or not :P

But that’s probably the difference in our approaches. I can’t wait to for another Tale :) and don’t worry, I’ll watch all your videos nevertheless (maybe just at 1.25 speed ;))

I appreciate the greeck title and nothing else, the animations are very bad, sorry but I have to say it. I don't understamd why do you publish it. I think you have to watch more real movies and inspire by these.
