I don't like it in the shot. I didn't think the audio was bad before. I think it just gets in the way.

Exactly what I was thinking 😂
Right off the bat, I can say that I never had an issue with the way the audio was before. I always heard you, always understood you. Don't listen to the audiophiles. Not everybody needs a meticulous audio setup like Joe from Game Sack. The way it was was perfectly fine. That being said, the audio through this new microphone is really good. I have no issue with the current setup or sound quality in this particular video, I just don't think it's entirely necessary compared to the way it was before is really what it comes down to.
i miss the old audio setup
I prefer the old setup. That said for podcasts I could see this being a thing. Maybe not on these or your other room videos. It’s not a bad mic! But I will defer to the original setup…
been watching you for more than 10 years now and never ever thought about audio quality I dunno why but the introduction of a microphone to increase audio quality after having the same setup for over a decade is really funny for me in like a dry humor, parody sort of way Love your stuff man. Most consistent guy on this site
Yeah the microphone 🎤 looks cool but I always hear you fine without one so I think you’re better off without the microphone.
I never though audio was bad before, in fact it was clearer to me before
I can't stop looking at the light on the mic changing colors lol
The audio sounds excellent with that mic, Adam, and it reminds me of the podcasts, which I appreciate since it shows the quality consistency in that brand's mics. So long as the boom arm isn't too obtrusive for you, I welcome this new 'Mic-ed Adam' era!
Great pickups as always Adam. I didn't have an issue with the audio previously to the mic. But I also don't have an issue with the mic either. Although in my opinion you were a lot louder with the older audio. With the mic you're more muffled or I guess quiet somehow. I can still hear you though so again I'm happy either way. Take care.
I think the audio quality is nice. Not the biggest fan of it being so visible in the shot, but I think I prefer it just for the sake of the audio sounding better, personally.
I generally listen to your KZread videos as I relax/drift off to sleep, so I welcome the audio upgrade. 🎉❤
The audio is perfect now, more professional!🔥🔥
I'm pretty sure the box the DS was in was originally for bank checks.
turn mic rgb off
Audio has never been an issue ever. i even like the old school video games with just bleeps & bloop noises. Where they had so much game they couldn't put in a proper audio sound track for the game. Funny that you put in a Master System game as i've just picked up a Master Gear Converter that would convert your Sega Game Gear to play Master System games! But i use it for my Analogue Pocket that it fits & works to play Master System Games on the Go! That is my next collection to start is all the games Brazil has on the Master System!
The new mic makes all the difference. Keep it!
Looking fancy with the new setup buddy
New audio sounds great! I just got used to the old setup but this is great. Mic stand and light are a little distracting but it's not too bad.
Great mic setup and better sound. Gives more gravitas!
I was hoping they would do Tempest 3000 and thanks to your post on Twitter I ordered one last night, now I just have to try to find a Nuon ugh!
9:17 I expected the USB connection to also carry A/V for capturing/streaming
I never had an issue with the sound. That said, I think this does sound better, but not enough to make up for having a boom mic in the shot.
I kind of prefer the way your videos used to sound. It wasn’t amazing but it had character. This new mic is good but makes this video sound like a podcast.
Great video. God bless you and yours. Praying for you
sounds great, turn off the RGB, organize the cable and we gucci. One thing tho, this mic is good for a setting where you really do not move around, this is Playload so you are moving around, opening, cutting and stuff so the volume changes a lot.
Seems like most people in the comments prefer the old setup, wanted to throw my hat in the ring and say i love the new audio quality :) Thanks for the videos and info as always adam
well I definitely could hear a difference in the audio, and if the mic's gotta be in the shot, so be it. also cool to see that brazillian SMS up and running!
the mic quality is obviously improved, but the tone has a certain "harshness" to it now. in a weird way, the reverb on the old setup had a nice "smoothing" effect. you could look into how to adjust voice recordings with an EQ to reduce harshness
Cool TV; i have the same one since 2004; still works great (touching wood).
you sound great, but I like the classic crude youtube set up sound too. You know, I'm into retro so....
I think a clip-on mic would be more convenient for both you and the audience. Good quality audio and it's not in the way. Plus u don't have to kiss the mic all the time
I think the audio problem was a thing however it never really bothered me, but it wasn't fixed in the correct way, as IMO the problem was the acoustics in the room (the "echo" and reverb) and not the quality of the audio itself as I personally thought it was fine, the mic is fine but I prefer the old setup
Great pickups. I’ve been watching you since 2015 and honestly don’t have a problem with the audio. I will say though, with the mic it sounds less “roomy”, as in, picking up less of echo in the room. The mic is not a distraction to me. If you feel like you are sacrificing desk space and is getting in the way of the “show and tell”, I would then make B rolls more prominent. Some channels like Review Tech USA and Spawnwave sort of do a hybrid like what I’m suggesting. When you are talking, have the shot of mostly you and maybe some stuff on the table, but when you go to actually show the item, cut to a different camera (B roll). You are actually sort of doing it now, but if you keep the desk mic maybe do that style even more. If you really want to keep that show and tell style, then just use a lapel/lavalier mic, give you all the room to get everything in the shot. But honestly, your content is great either way.
The mic doesn’t sound too bad. You might want to get a short desk mic stand instead of the boom. Great video as always.

Problem with that is I have a tendency to hit the table which gets picked up.
I prefer the open shot without the mic. Have been subscribed forever and the audio's fine. Not having a mic is kinda unique to your channel and one of the many non utuber type things that has always set you apart. Luv that mad portable Master Systme.
I've been using Eneloop (Panasonic brand) rechargeable lithium AA and AAA batteries for years now. As an Xbox enjoyer, it's nice knowing I don't have to keep buying batteries, I just have a fresh set ready to go and put the last pair on the charger. Bought a set of 16 AAs and haven't had a single pair fully die or be noticeably unable to hold a decent charge yet.
The audio is very crisp now, sounds great actually but I’m with a lot of people on here. Not a fan of if in the shot. If there’s a way you could position it above the shot or maybe switch to a boom mic or something, it’d work much better!
Great audio, maybe I'd recommend what I'm doing which is to use a stand (something like the MS7701) so that even if you bang the desk it won't go through the mic. Or, shotgun mic above your head out of (camera) frame is what people usually do on KZread. Last resort sound panels but it's kinda expensive unless you DIY.. In any cases, as a headphone user that perceives echo easily (from former videos), thanks for the effort :)
It might look better if the arm of the mic was coming in from the other side, that being said the mic sounds pretty good :)
Awesome pickups Adam!
its cool you still make videos. i was watching you like a decade ago.

Welcome back.
I figured out how to thrift store find the Wii ports of SEGA's House of the Dead games today, AND score a new old stock black Wii Remote and Nunchuck. I've been hoping to find a new old stock remote just in case one of our well used remotes dies
i don't mind the mic on frame, the audio does seem better but yeah the rgb can be a bit distracting maybe even for you
I like the audio from the mic. But I can imagine it getting in the way on the episodes where you have a lot of big packages on your table.
It seems like mic is mixed reception. Throwing my hat in. I noticed the change and dont mind it being in shot, but do see why others feel like it kinda takes up too much room in shot
I actually like the look of it. I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Given that, I think it makes the whole setup look more professional. The big thing I want to know is, will it cut out the background noise we keep hearing?
@AdamKoralik
3 ай бұрын
Seems to so far.
Yes the classic room
I like the new toner mic it looks badass, especially with the rgb light 👍👍
The audio is better. Maybe you could arrang the arm and placement of the mic in a less intrusive way. But yeah the audio is better. Maybe Tonor has a lapel mic, that would be even better.
I prefer the better audio but you might wanna just get a small mic stand or a low profile arm so it takes up less of the shot.
Ever since my Xbox 360, I have used rechargeables. With my One X, I switched over to EBL. They do make an Xbox specific battery pack too. Their batteries do work but I have noticed I only get about 2 years before the cells are just dead. (And I do have a conditioner/charger to verify.) So figure you’ll probably need to replace the eight batteries after a year or so. As for the Mic, I did like the better quality though the RGB was a bit distracting. But sounded good.
I kinda like the mic honestly. It sounds a lot like the FigureItOutCast (hopefully the name is right). It kinda uniforms your sound between the live and pre-recorded stuff. I do very much agree that the boom arm looks like way too much.
So now you have a full Wii-U set!? CONGRADULATIONS!!!
I prefer it without the mic. You will find it in your way eventually.
Look at you getting all professional on us. 😊
Rush 2049 is a great game, but I do prefer the N64 version, which has better music tracks. You'd think the DC version would sound better, but the it was outsourced and the music tracks were sent as mp3 files, which corrupted on their way to the porting studio. So the DC port's music files are cut down, and don't sound all that great.
Yep no need for a microphone as you have less room. It doesn't effect anything apart the sirens which we could hardly hear anyway.
So I don’t think it’s necessarily the audios fault. I just think it is in the way for the shot and I think people don’t like that. But I think the audio quality is better.
For PlayLoad I'd prefer the old audio setup. You move around a lot so the audio kind of comes in and out depending on your distance from the mic. It might not be a bad setup for something like rare variants but the mic being in the shot may take away from the nice displays you arrange with the consoles, games, and controllers. There's also a Memorial Package version (different cover art) of Monster Hunter Frontier G on Wii U, but if Vid is as big of an aficionado as you say, I'm sure you've probably heard about it by now.
@AdamKoralik

I have the Memorial Package version actually.
Exept the rgb lights, i kinda dig the added sound quality and i (personally) don't mind the boom. Also, rf pal to rf ntsc is no big issue to convert and it doesn't require expensive circury i used to play Magnavox oddsey 2 back in the 80s with a converter (philips video pac was much more expensive for some odd reason it was cheaper to import), i am pretty much sure they're much better now.
So I mean yeah, the audio is definitely better with the mic; but like others have pointed out, I don't think it really needs to be better than it was. It's always been just fine. Plus yeah it is kinda distracting, especially after over 10 years of it not being there lol. So I dk; if anything, I would suggest one of those clip on mics that clips onto your shirt. But between the mic in this video, and no mic: I dk, I could go either way really, but I guess I would say old style with no mic. (or clip-on mic)
After 14 years on KZread Adam finally uses a microphone!

Yo a MIC?!?! KRAAAAZY
I dont mind the old setup, lets you be able to talk more freely without having to be worried about lining up with the mic. Dont have a problem with the audio on old setup.
I feel line I met ☀️ at our Local Store and didn’t even know lol… that’s cool man didn’t know he did that
Never had a problem with the audio before, but it does sound better. Personally I think the mic is too much in the shot
The audio is WAY better with the mic(the only “bad” things about you videos in the past was the “echo audio”) so I support you having a separate audio recording device, but wouldn’t it be better to have something smaller like a clip on lavender microphone or a Røde wireless GO mic? Way better audio than your old setup, and it’s not “in the way” like this setup. I have the Røde myself(you can see it in a couple of my previous videos) and it is a practical and technical game changer for video production. 👌🏼😉😇
i don't mind it in the shot. i'm not convinced of its quality, however. the audio from prior vids is pretty mediocre, but this might not be the endgame replacement for it
Keep the Mic in the shot ^_^ it sounds great!
23:34 I LOVE the static snow! I could watch ant race all day baby!!!
hey adam good pickups video
As long as I hear You better, it is better. That mic is clearly a budget one, but You're getting there. Just strap the cable to the arm, otherwise You'll inevitably shred a usb plug in the mic, and get rid of that light. Maybe with a masking tape.
I have an original copy of Tempest 3000 for the nuon. Now I wonder if this reprint will hurt the value of the original. I also have that same Sony Wega silver tv to play my retro games.
@AdamKoralik
3 ай бұрын
Probably slightly, but the Nuon base isn't exactly large.
Mic sounds fine was a bit quieter than normal
I think it would be better to have a different kind of mic that would be above you or something, so it’s not in the way, but not like the old one where it’s far away and you can hear a decent amount of echo
Dunno I kinda like the new audio, sounds a bit more lively like a sportscast or something
Audio sounds good. Mic is distracting in the camera shot. Some kind of boom mic would be better.
I feel that audio now is Just about the same it was before...
I visited Video games NY. It was a cool Store. Lots of stuff there. I think I said hello to the owner ( idk if that’s dan) but small world. NYC has some cool retro stores
I think the audio is good, mic doesn't bother me
It's like a master jet (similar to the mega jet)
Thanks Adam
You voice sounds so comforting on that mic father

Enjoy my podcast then!
I love the new sound...It's just going to take me a bit to get used to it. I've gotten used to the way you filmed the other way over the many years i have been watching.
Those VMU shells are cool. Now if he makes also a new Dreamcast shells that will be even more awesome
@AdamKoralik

Actually I think that's a thing.
I like your old way better. You wasn't stuck to having to talk right into a mic you was just talking to us.
That is very interesting because if you had a pal TV, it would be compatible with an American RF signal because we imported a lot of stuff from America and stuff like that so earlier TVs before that happened can’t properly do it but new ones that came out later came properly displayed this is just very interesting to me all that to say it would be for me if we did the worst way
I think the audio is much better, but honestly, it would be far less cumbersome looking if you used a clip-on lavalier mic.
With the new audio the format of the show seems completely different just like if had changed resolution It did feel like a different show people always want better audio
I think you have officially reached legend status when you have ebay sellers know who you are
I know you mentioned that this microphone is going to not be there anymore the audio quality doesn't sound bad but it just looks goofy as hell.
Your audio was never an issue for me. Lol either way. Sounds good lol
Daaaaamn I see you!!!
I never had a problem with your audio, but seeing the mic in front of you like that and I will expect you to sing and do a cover of Go Go Power Rangers
Hey Adam! Looking good, nice haircut and beard 👍🏽
The audio sounds a lot better I think, see if it came over you then yeah it’ll look good but it just looks awkward I don’t know I’m not a microphone guy 🤣🤣
Regaurding the mic, I love the quality but it in the shot is kinda distracting. Not any better or worse overall I think, just kinda different. If you do go the mic route, like someone else said, please turn off the RGB lol
I totally agree with the others who say your sound wasn't bad before And it gets in the way of your picture, it's a bit distracting
I feel like it's going to take a few vids before people appreciate the new mic.
