I remember Michael Portillo on one of his "Railway" journeys interviewing a female fireman woman in a London Fire station and he asked her how she had found the Fire service, and she said; "Too much marching and saluting". Portillo crinkled his eyes in vast amusement at this. I thought to myself, "Yes, when being a fireman was having to be a bloody tough strong man doing a hard mans job". I think she ended up as Fire Commissioner. And screwed up the Grenfill fire disaster.

Can some please reduce blatant anti-white racism in ad campaigns ?

It is however hysterical (as it is a repeatable line) Nicholas's observation that adverts depict black men with good-paying jobs as only being attracted to white women.

@@mjones4083 That was what Nicolas said in one of his comedy sketches, when remarking on how every UK (frankly almost every American too) advertisement has an interracial couple. Perhaps up to the audience to make the leap in logic somebody depicted on television with kids must be married. Sign of the times.

My daughter is absolutely ripped. She's very much into fitness. Runs every day, spends 4 hours a day at the gym etc etc. Look up a picture of Yeon Woo Jhi, make her Japanese and taller and you'll have my daughter. Due to health issues I bounce between 250 and 220 regularly. My daughter could not pick me up and safely carry me out of a burning building. She'd kill herself trying though. So no, I do NOT want a female firefighter saving my life, because she can't. I also don't want female EMS trying to save my life, because if I need to be handled or moved, she won't be able to do it.

I asked our EMTs what they do when they have to transport a “beachmaster” that is too heavy, “we call the fire guys”

We experienced the same stupidity here in Canada with the RCMP, our female commissioner at the time first said that the force was not systematically racist and then did an about face and said that it was. Most likely after being spoken to by our illustrious leader Trudeau.

God save us from puny, female firefighters!

There is nothing wrong with racism or hate. I support both.

Female firefighters and forestry service are always a liability for the men they’re around.

Its not coming from a good place. Its coming from myth and fantasy.

I served 25 years in the Fire Service. Women firefighters are fine so long as people realise that by age 35 they just cannot keep up the level of fitness reuired and need to be promoted. Even if they are unsuitable for promotion.

Im 105kg.. Im hard to lift for a man...If I was unconscious in a fire a woman probably wouldnt be able to drag me out... Its not impossible. but try lifting/dragging a 105kg sandbag from the floor and tell me how it went..

I had the same thought.

It's all down to the new definition of racism: "intention doesn't matter, only outcomes matter". So if there are proportionally more White people in the fire service, then that's racism by definition. She doesn't have to show advantages or bias. It's the numbers themselves that constitute 'racism', regardless of how the numbers got that way.

It's all right. You'll die because of an unqualified black airplane mechanic being hired instead of a qualified white one.

When you know you don't deserve your position, that is you know you didn't earn it on merit, you'll do or say anything to keep it.

This just proves she can’t even justify her position if she can’t even answer a simple question,this in itself shows that some people that are put in certain positions shouldn’t be there. I laughed so hard I spat my drink out,this is definitely another woke individual who writes stuff down because it looks good but can’t give an answer to why.

Have multiple fire exstinshors in your house and be prepared to save yourself in the event of a fire. Might want to get an axe and an oxygen mask too. Basically be your own firefighter.

I knew a guy who spent years training and re-applying to the Fire Service because the entry requirements were so high. Despite being an exceptional candidate, in excellent health, and the fittest guy I knew, he was kicked back a few times at interview because they wanted him to get a bit older, and only passed the selection tests on the second attempt (due to an instructor error fyi) Now they are shoeing in people based on race and gender.....wtaf. To put this in perspective, raising the retirement age of firemen in the UK was so controversial precisely because the average athletic, fit, healthy male, would struggle to be fit enough for active duty in his mid fifties..... especially after years of service, injury and exposure to chemicals and dust associated with fire fighting. I dont know many women who are fit and strong enough to be firefighters, and I have NEVER met a women in her mid fifties that could set that standard. Sorry but there it is: biology.

Put a woman in charge and well you know .
