[THE MIMIC LORE INCOMING!] 🚨 So basically, in the Mimic there are two "Books." Book 1 is Control, consisting of: Control Ch. 1 Control Ch. 2 Control Ch. 3 Control Ch. 4 Book 2, Jealousy (the one you played in the beginning): Jealousy Ch. 1 Jealousy Ch. 2 Jealousy Ch. 3 [4 is unfinished, yet to be released] Each book is an ongoing story throughout 4 chapters, and in Book 1, you play as a character named Yasu. The demons in Book 1 are all his ancestors who have been accursed and are now puppets of an evil witch, the spirit of Control. Her name is Kintoru, aka Sama. The creatures aren’t "Mimics," but as I said, either cursed ancestors or demon cult members. The reasoning behind it being titled "The Mimic," is because Kintoru (Control) mimics reality with the locations you are brought to throughout Book 1. The butterfly spirits are also the spirits of your friends, who have been killed by Kintoru. At the start of Control: Chapter 1, you set off to find your friends from high school who went missing. In the process, you are influenced by Kintoru and attacked by her puppets which are your accursed ancestors. In Book 2, the main character’s name is Isamu. He started the book by investigating the mysterious death of his brother. He takes a boat out the island he was last seen on, and in the process is taken by a mystery entity (whose identity is to be discovered later on) to a minka (where you awakened at the start of nightmare mode - nighmare skips cutscenes). Every creature you encounter in the chapter is either a relic of your past or a member of Jealousy (Enzukai)’s cult. In Book 2, it is not based around a cursed ancestral lineage like Book 1, but instead about Isamu exploring a mystical world filled with demonic creatures with the goal of survival and finding out the reason behind his brother’s untimely death. @@ML.7777 there are 2 books each book has 4 chapters. I was watching someone yesterday speed run book 1 and he was a pro but it still took him 1 hour idk how long book 2 takes but yh they are pretty long
