For the engine build, you have to grab the blue block which is the engine block and then you grab a head gasket, and then you grab your pistons etc. Hope this helps! Edit: you should put the engine block on the workbench for easy maintenance.

If you are stuck in a first person screen, just press ‘O’. It makes the cam zoom out. The ‘I’ is to zoom in, just so you know 😊
