Playing Stranded Deep For The First Time In 2024 ~ Part 1

About this game:
Stranded Deep is a survival game that takes place in the Pacific Ocean. The game is procedurally generated, meaning the world is randomly generated each time you play. The game is unforgiving and will punish players who don't know what they're doing.
Following a severe plane crash caused by unknown circumstances, the player wakes up to find that they are the lone survivor of the ordeal. With nothing but their skills and what they can find in the environment, they must survive in the islands of the Pacific.
Throughout their journey, the player will encounter many exotic views, many hazards, and many of the ocean's fauna: lush coral reefs, vast sights, an abundance of fish and marine life, as well as more significant features such as sharks and even whales. Though these sights may capture the awe and attention of the player, they must steer clear of many things; some may poison, while others will outright kill the player.
Survival on the islands will determine whether or not the player has the necessary skills needed to thrive on such a vast but empty environment. The player will need to keep themselves satiated on food and water in order to prevent them from starving. Crafting also becomes a key skill when surviving, as different tools are needed for different purposes. axes and hammers can be used for building. Shelters can be erected to decorate any island, and crude vehicles can be crafted to aid the player in travel.
Along with using the available resources found on land, the player may also choose to explore the waters in search of supplies left behind by past explorations. The leftover remnants of ancient ships and crashed planes and their cargo can be discovered strewn around the islands. Players are able to use these supplies to aid them in their survival, and may also possibly increase their chances of a rescue. However, exploring all waters comes with a risk, as deadly marine life can be found dwelling the waters around them, putting the player in danger.

As someone who plays this game regularly, and remembering how difficult of a time I had in the beginning, it hurts my heart to see you struggling lol. But keep going, it's entertaining and rewarding when you figure stuff out. I see you're several episodes in, so I'm going to keep watching, and I'll leave tips where I can. Have fun and good luck!

I love this game since it came out.. Only thing that ruins this for me was the trolling.. NOBODY is that slow to learn .. looking for fibrous leaves and litteraly standing directly in front of one.. and then moving on. It would be easier for him to spot stuff if he didnt jerk the camera around so violently.. Slow down and read what the screen says.. investigate all plants and utilize the ocean resources.. watching this series just riles me up because of the blatant trolling and pretending to be daft. but I am sure other ppl will enjoy following the series.

No trolling here. I’m loving this game as well. Oh and as a teacher I can say with confidence that some people, like me, are slow to pick things up but then quickly surpass their peers. I learned how to read much later than other kids. I was 7 still learning my alphabets. Now I’m an English teacher 🤷♂️ just how my brain works
First time viewer, and by no means a professional gamer, let alone Stranded Deep player, but that first half of the video, was almost painful to watch. I wanted to yell at the screen to put the oar away.

I had to look it up. It reminds me so much of Subnautica. It’s shaping up really well
You should not feel bad about sucking at this game. The tutorial is misleading, the menus are clunky as heck and you don’t yet understand about resource management! I love the game, it’s one of my all time favourites but it is brutal on the new player. I bought it first in early, early access and coming back to it in 2024 I struggled, mostly with the Ps5 controller admittedly but I struggled! Persevere and you will look like Tom Hanks in no time, well, not literally, but you’ll be a real survivor. You will probably die at least three times but don’t be discouraged, it’s genuinely worth it in the end! 😁
