Here are some general tips since you are new to the game. Always eat a meal before hunt, staring out chef's choice platter tends to be best for HP and stamina. Sharpen your weapon so that it stays at or above green, anything lower and you are doing less than normal damage (exception is hammer which has a special decoration/skill to help). Try to stock up on materials on your expeditions and use auto-craft feature so you can have instant potions or upgrades to your items on the fly. Every weapon is viable, so play what you like. The defender weapons are "easy mode" items as they are by far better than the others before end of high rank. Last one is take time to learn monster attack patterns, will make your life easier.

For future reference, the self improvement buffs on Hunting Horn only affect the user, not allies And for the Insect Glaive, you'll want to consistently keep the red buff, and only get orange and white when convenient. The red one changes your attacks to be faster and hit harder

@@TheMarsColony It can be, the only song that doesn't affect your allies is Self Improvement. Everything else will affect allies in range, and you can tell if they're in range if there's a note symbol next to their name :3 People who main the hunting horn will adamantly say the horn isn't a 'support weapon' simply because they think it's a derogatory term when it isn't. I can't count how many horns have saved my life on hunts because it happens so often

If you grapple onto a monster's face with singer ammunition, you can shoot it into the monster's face and hit it into a wall

Monster Hunter World for 9$ is a MASSIVE steal. Would by it for 70$ again if it came out on another console.

we did but havent played it yet. have a couple more MHW videos in editing but if you'd like to see a Iceborn video i'd work one up gladly :3
